Aang killing the wasp thing after getting Momo back was such a big deal to show his level of emotions in that moment. He's a vegetarian and a pacifist, it's a huge part of his character to protect life. Even after Momo was safe and the wasp was flying away, Aang still chased after it and cut it down in anger and revenge.
@Elysia63 So you're obviously not intelligent at all. How is it the Owl's fault? When he found out the gang was gonna use the information they found for Violence something he hated?
a lot of people seem to forget that appa is not only his last connection to his genocides culture/people (which is enough of a reason already) but also his soulmate in a sense. im actually rly glad you two didnt get mad at him because a lot of people do get mad, when everything that happens makes sense and is more painful than anything😭
Yeah, if my dog was stolen from me and I had to spend days getting out of a desert before I could even go and look for him properly I’d be pretty damn irate too. And we didn’t spend a century frozen in an ice berg, only to thaw out and learn he’s the last connection I have to my previous life.
aang losing control and going into the avatar state, and katara being kind of resigned and sad, being sad with him to calm him down....always makes me emotional, i have to say. its so sad and sweet...
In retrospect, a lot of people get upset with Aang in the first episode, I think in part because they assume the Appa thing will be resolved by the end of it and then it's like oh. But the first time he needed to be calmed down like this is when he found evidence of the genocide and the loss of his other best friend.
Plus even if it's not wrapped up in one episode, we have the benefit of knowing this is ultimately a kid's tv show which means it's very unlikely they'd ever kill Appa off like that. Now if the show was run more like Game of Thrones, then most people would probably be just as distraught as Aang since there'd be a higher possibility that Appa was killed or lost forever.
I love the detail of Zuko sniffing the flowers when Iroh leaves. As soon as Zuko's alone, he drops his facade and softens. His true character before all the daddy issues.
poor katara is a waterbender trapped in the middle of a desert with toph, a blind. twelve. year. old. aang, who is both a Literal Nuke *and* having a fucking breakdown, and sokka who is not only tripping balls but who also made it so that the lemur is tripping. balls. no map, very little water, no mode of transportation, and she has to keep everyone together so they don't, yaknow, DIE IN THIS DESERT OR SOMETHING
There were several reasons why the Moses water bubble was better than ice bridge. 1. They are escorting an extremely pregnant lady who needs for them to move slower, plus ice is slippery, she could fall. 2. Fire Nation is patroling the area, if they are spotted again while on the bridge, they are all going to fall in. 3. Toph can't see on ice. And finally 4. the Moses water bubble is cool AF. They just didn't expect a wild Rayquaza to appear😊
My question is always why they didn't have Toph raise up a land bridge. So much more stable than the ice, Toph could see just fine, and it could just as easily be lowered back down once they got across.
@@angelalurtz3638 Hmm... they still need to stay hidden in the first place, landbridge is safer but still out in the open. Plus, once Toph rose them out of the water, the rest of the land underneath was too far for her bend a new bridge.
