  • Recorded on Sept. 2, 2018, in an undisclosed Mormon (aka Ziontology) ward in the United States.
When asked why he did this, the member who spoke said, “Because I care about protecting children, because this has affected members of my own family, because the church needs to stop, because members are scared into silence, etc.”

I'm having old gross memories of interviews many years back, and the bishop asking .. "When was the last time you masturbated?" I was 13 years old. He didn't even ask if I was masturbating. I agree with this movement. That sh*t was traumatizing and shaming. If there is a God, repentance should be between him and the person.

Maybe just me but these people need to FIGHT back. I would no more go along with their "please dismiss yourself." I would have said "fuck you I'm going to say what I came to say" and I would have screamed it all the way out the door. as they hauled me out. Whoever was filming should have called the police. Shaking my head. When you let them haul you off willingly and say "ok" you are letting them win. Sick. Angry.

I have three sisters and three sisters-in-law. All were raised in active Latter-Day Saint homes and communities. All but one was sexually abused as a teenager by an older, active, temple attending member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Of these five women, four brought their complaints to their respective bishop. According to a DVD titled "Protect The Children," which was distributed by the Church in the 20 aughts, then-President Gordon Hinckley cited church policy when he stated, ""(Those who abuse children) should not be given Church callings and may not have a temple recommend. Even if a person who abused a child sexually or physically receives Church discipline and is later restored to full fellowship or readmitted by baptism, leaders should not call the person to any position working with children or youth."
So I find it interesting that none of these offenders received church discipline or ever had their records annotated. I personally sat in a conference where multiple victims of the same offender brought their complaints to both the offender's bishop and stake president. They had witnesses to corroborate their accounts. Absolutely nothing was done to discourage the offender's actions. He was permitted to continue serving in callings with children of all ages. I was so upset about this that I reached out to my own stake president at the time. He called Salt Lake City to discuss the matter and later reported to me that they had no record of the events and that no annotation was ever placed on the offender's membership records. This was confirmed by one of the offender's later bishops.
Another one of these victims (this one of a different offender) brought her complaint directly to her bishop with a witness to the events less than a week after the offense took place. The offender was a sealer in the temple, a former bishop, and a respected member of the community. The bishop assured her and the witness that he would address this with the offender and follow up accordingly. This never happened. Not only did the bishop do nothing, but he also refused future meetings from both the victim and witness alike. The offender went to his grave with his reputation untarnished and his standing in the Church fully intact.
Some might question why the victims did not go to the police. But In a community where the highest trusted authority is the LDS Church, one can become easily discouraged to pursue other avenues. If a literal "judge in Isreal" is dismissive of such a complaint, I can see why many victims might question themselves. After being painfully disregarded by an "authority" you trusted, how is one to go to a "lesser authority" with a higher degree of confidence that something will get done. But that's exactly what a person should do!
NEVER bring your complaints of physical or sexual abuse to the leadership of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints... NEVER! They are not equipped for it. Their policies may say otherwise, but I assure you that these policies are not followed. Call 911 and get some real help.

This is disgusting, though not at all surprising, based on my experience in the church. Mormons protect a culture of allowing the bishopric to discuss sexuality with individual members of the ward in private. They consider it normal. It opens the door to the entire array of indiscretion from shame to harassment to full-on rape. It's a slippery slope, and there's no telling how many elders and bishops take advantage of their unfettered access to the intimate sexual details of their ward members. If Mormons want this spotlight off of them, they need to get with the program and recognize they are ALL complicit in this. One-on-one meetings about sex and masturbation are not okay.

Hi. The reason he was asked to stop is that Testimony meeting is a sacred to for members to express their testimony of Jesus Christ.
Those points he was making, while well founded, need to be discussed in a forum with Bishops and stake presidents. There are now many classes on these exact subject that outline all the guidelines of and for teachers and others in authority to stop these tragic interactions.
So…he wasn’t wrong, just wrong time to talk about those things. Testimony meeting is also not a time to teach, lecture, give a talk etc…it is for brief, heartfelt testimonies of our Savior.
      I hope this helps

Hmm idk. Yes the guy could have been allowed to finish talking. Yes perhaps it can be traumatic to some to talk about sinning or doing taboo behavior. Here’s the dilemma. There’s a difference between having sec or doing oral sec or like dry humping etc. I would assume if you fornicate that that’s technically worse then dry humping etc. I suppose they could just ask did you fornicate or did you fondle each other and not go into any further detail.

I guess this may have been fast and testimony Sunday? Nevertheless, telling someone to dismiss themselves in the process of speaking is hurtful and rude. Something always didn't feel right to me about the LDS Church. Seven years down the line and tears later, I quit. Member callings could be arrogant, dismissive and even teaching wrong biblical facts entirely; "Adam fell that man might be"..surely misses the whole purpose and reason for the Messiah? Always, the problem is given to be from doubting members who are bold and brave enough to challenge Mormon doctrine, risking excommunication. These religious cults screw you up because unless you agree with everything they tell you, there's always someone waiting in the wings to make you feel you're an apostate.

@@mvaug69 why do u consider it rude? If the spirit moved the brother to dismiss him then he gets dismissed. If it was the Bishopric protecting the ward from something that needed to be addressed in another forum then that's why he got dismissed. The pulpit isnt an "airing" of grievances "
As to doctrine if u had questions and felt u were not getting them answered from your own scripture reading or your own revelation. Or from members of the church u may have asked, I personally would ha e gone to another ward to have sought my answers
However if u were looking for answers with a mindset to just prove it wrong, then it was better that u left for that is not the purpose of revelation. The church filled with IMPERFECT people, run by imperfect people. Our prophet is not infallible . If bvn u thought otherwise ,u were mistaken. If you want to believe in Jesus, that's totally fine, but trust me, the stuff that Brigham Young and Joseph Smith did was awful even at that time period.
Look at why your people were persecuted. They got kicked out of Missouri because they flooded a ton of land and forced people to sell their land to them.
Believe in your gospel, but not in the church. I'm not religious myself, but you're entitled to your beliefs. But just don't let the church keep taking advantage of you.

Refusing to address this issue, simply stating that the bishop and the child being alone together is fine, because he is a "devout man" is practically the same as the Catholic church taking efforts to cover up their growing problem of clerical pedophilia.
There is a problem, but addressing it makes the people in power appear flawed, human, fallible, and they'd rather shame and emotionally abuse children then adapt.

She was then warned not to tell her parents, teachers or even Heavenly Father. We've been inactive for almost three years now and the church leadership seems to be happy with that arrangement. I dare not imagine what would have happened if my daughter had responded positively. The process of Bishop interviews had been weaponized against our family. The thing is, yes, they try to cover it up, but they've done a horrible job of covering it up since the beginning. If you research them no matter when the religion started, it was always available in research. 1 The only reason the members fall for it is because one, they fall for the lie they tell them at the door of their house. 2 They deliberately take the Bible out of context, which isn't taking it out of context as straight-up lying. The last thing they finally do is they tell them not to read their Bible and only accept the word of God through their own mouths. However, a good deterrent, and to not falling for their lies, is to research them. Also, read the Bible. What they are is a counterfeit of Christianity. In other words, Satan is behind them, not God. I'm glad that they're getting exposed more, but their lives have always been semi exposed.

in the days of brigham young it was fast and testimony and blood atonement meeting.
in the days of briggy, after the meeting anyone who needed to be blood atoned would be lead out of the ward building to a spot where they would dig their own grave. then the blood atoner would come up behind them and slit their throat from ear to ear and drain all the blood out of their body so they could personally atone for their own sins. then kick the body into the grave and fill it in.
the doctrine of blood atonement was codified in utah law at least for awhile. john d lee, the adopted son of brigham young and blood atoner official of the mormon church was shot to death by firing squad at mountain meadows.
as patsy for the mountain meadows massacre, john d lee stood in vicariously for brigham young who undoubtedly gave the orders for the massacre, but who had too much power to be blood atoned himself for his own offenses.
luckily for john d lee his membership was reinstated a few years back which leaves the door open for him to become a god in the celestial kingdom, though he will have to get a new harem of goddesses because the harem he had on earth deserted him for other more worthy candidates before he died.
that guy in this video wouldn't have been so bold if he had known he was going to be blood atoned after the meeting for his efforts.

There is no time or place where the truth can ever be talked about. Victims of abuse at the hands of priesthood holders are never given the opportunity to talk about what has happened to them. They are made to believe they are responsible for it and often punished for it. The perpetrators are fully protected by the brotheren and their legal team. Making it impossible for the victims to ever be heard or seek justice for the crimes against them.

The church of course isn't always going to be perfect because God has put humans in charge of leadership on earth. Of course he is at the head, but all humans have agency so of course there will be problems. We just need to acknowledge the problems of the past, admit they were wrong, fix them, and try our best to move forward so we can focus on what's really important which is Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ ❤

Private one on one are supposed to be private. Between the bishop and the adults as well as between the youth. He does not interview young children. It just isnt done. If you are interviewed all he asks is if you are morally clean and if you pay a full tithe and if you are honest in all your dealings. This is not inappropriaye questions. If someone does not understand a question then the bishop might explain to the youth what he means. For instance if he asks someone if they are morally clean or he might use the words do you keep yourself clran. He might explain if the child does not understand the question. I repeat he does not interview any young children unless they ate getting ready to be baptized. There are a lot of other religions thay emphasize purity at marriage. And all he does if someone says they did something that morally hurts you, he does not punish you. Je councils you ....my dad was a bishop for many years. He was a very kind and loving person. A bishop is like a minister he councils them and gives them suggestionson how to stop your behavior and how to draw closer to God . This young man was out of line airing his laundry in public.

    1. This was a total set up. The man was not part of the congregation. He had someone filming. He took advantage of a testimony meeting, which is a meeting designed to uplift and encourage members, to debase and shame church leadership.
    2. His comments and feelings should be heard, but a testimony meeting is not the appropriate place to do it. There is a format for expressing complaints in the church. People may not like it, but there is a way to do it properly. It's not any different if you were to stand up in a large company meeting and start making negative comments about company leadership. They would shut that down too. Church is no different.
    3. If improper things happen in a meeting with a church leader and a youth, it's is very very very very rare in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I understand that one time is too many. But there is no rule, policy or procedure that will stop one person out of tens of thousands of church leaders if that leader is a predator. They will find a way to do what they want.
    4. Interviews with youth are important. These interviews, of which I've done many, have more to do with just getting to know the youth better and to development a relationship with them. Question about the Law of Chastity is just one of many questions that are asked about their life. Parents are free to be in attendance if the child and parent want. And parents are made aware of it. Most kids don't want their parents in the room. They want to be able to talk in an environment free from the pressure of a parent. The youth is allowed to freely talk about whatever they want.
    5. When I was a youth, I did a lot of things that I felt guilty about. I didn't want to tell my parents but I knew that God wanted me to repent of those sins. And I wanted to get them out in the open and off my back. When I confessed my sins to my Bishop, he didn't judge me. He was caring, loving and understanding. And I felt a hundred times better about myself when I left that room. I was grateful for the meetings with my Bishop.

      Consider this:
The word Adam means man, it also means one who can blush/flush, (show blood in the face) which people of color cannot do, it means reddish/white, etc.
Jacob's father Isaac and mother Rebecca were Syrians (Caucasians). Plus, the very word Laban means WHITE. Laban said to Jacob, "we're of the SAME skin". Laban was Rebecca's brother. Lebanon is named after Laban because of the snow capped mountain. Jacob said his father was a Syrian in Deut 26:5 which makes Jacob a white Syrian as well. Whites have transparent skin, when we're embarrassed we blush ,when we're frightened we "turn white as a ghost" and we also go flush or pale when we're ashamed just as Jacob's face went pale from being ashamed. That is a biblical description of a white Jacob. Jacob was a white Syrian just as president Assad is white. Even David was described in the same way as the rest of the Hebrews as having a white face with a red complexion. He was "ruddy and fair". As you know "fair" means light/white like fair skin, fair hair. (below) ALL the tribes came to David and said they're of the same flesh (white skin) as him. Samson was a Nazarite, they're Israelite's too, he was whiter than milk with a red complexion. Solomon was white with a red complexion. He had a white face, white abdomen, white neck, white nose, white legs like marble. He had emerald eyes like fish pools. I've showed Laban, Jacob, David, Samson, and Solomon were ALL white Hebrew/Israelite's. Those mentioned are all blood related family members of Jesus. Jesus was born in Galilee making him a Galatian (Gaul/Celt) I can prove Galatians/Celts migrated from Macedonia and western Europe (Gaul) into Turkey. then into Galilee. Galatians get their name from the word gala meaning milk. (they're whiter than milk, more ruddy than rubies).

Thing is, you’re not entitled to hijack a church’s worship and fellowship service to preach your political messages. It doesn’t matter if you have a good message, this was not a proper venue to preach it.

It is a good and Godly thing to disrupt the services of heretics.

@@iamkenough- Spoken like a true Pharisee. “Do you speak against the orthodox beliefs of the times? Then you don’t deserve the same rights and protections afforded everyone else.”
The people who crucified Jesus and persecuted the Apostles were possessed of the same mindset.
But I’m sure Christ would be proud of the atrocities you would be willing to commit to stamp out heresy.

      Good morning.
      Just here to remind you:
You won’t become a god one day and Joseph smith “translated” the Book of Mormon from a hat.
      Okay, carry on. 🙂
