If you could get some welding cables the best battery clamps and 4 very large battries and build yourself a portable power source, you could have it so you could use 12 ,24, 36, and 48 volts, depending on which lead you select , and the negative.
Fasten it all on a large wheeled handtruck to roll up to the work.

Hank, I was very, very proud of seeing the NASCAR Deer Hunting sticker on your toolbox. I was part of that Hunting Club until I became disabled in 2008 and could no longer chase after the dogs. I am proud tjat our sticker has become famous now.

Yup worked at recenbacher air port two 24 volt batterys with heavy cables to start the tug
If its a 350 big cam its 14 liters, 855 ci
I would always push in the clutch pedal when trying to start anything manual as it most likely has a safety switch to prevent starting in gear. I don't know what it was but something crawled out of the bottom right corner of the door at 34:15.
Also that way the started doesn't need to turn all the transmission gears!

That jump box with all that automatic stuff in it would be a pain in the but, if it is out of warranty I would open it up and mount one of those big master switches in the front of it and hook that straight to the internal battery and then you could just turn it on or off and just leave the charging port hooked straight to the battery as well.

Cummins 230,250, 270, 290, 335 and 350 were all 855 ci or 14 litres. There was a Super 250 that was put in buses that 927 ci.
350 Would be the horsepower. That's an 855 CI Cummins. Which equals to 14 Liter Engine..
The NTC 855 Cummins had horse power ratings from 230 to 350 HP in the Small Cam 855 & up to 400 HP in the Big Cam 855 Cummins.

the black jump box is a capasiter that charges up from the other battery. doesn't hold any charge uses power from another battery. the red one holds charge to use

I think that's a capacitor jump pack, the black one.. yes it has a battery and probably can do a hot jump, but I think you let it boost the cap for a big burst of one shot.. like hit that start button and hold until it goes.. the red one is different I think, not sure though. I don't have big ones like that style, I have the little one and it'll start pretty much anything!

IH S 2500 trucks had a ton of options on them so if it had F on the serial tag then its a Medium Duty engine DTI466 or Cat 3208T. Then the S on the tag would be Detroit 6-71, 6V92 or 8V71 and Cummins which the one you worked on was most likely a NTC cummins which could be anything power from 290-350. It was also a cummins option with the formula engines which came from 300-400 and were a twin turbo . Cant say i ever saw one with a cat 3406 most were always cummins power
