I bought mine in 2003 and still use it sitting on the couch at 3am with headphones on. It has never let me down.

The Korg Pandora was AWESOME and the sound quality was stellar.

I got mine in 2001. 21 years later, it still sounds awesome. There are some sounds that are just outstanding and unique. I have yet to find a DSP that is as good as the Pandora at recognizing and modulating based on attack (e.g. TALK, SOLOATK, and SYNTH). The LOWBASS and BASSYNTH are really good when you don't have a real bass guitar and you just want to fake it.
It even has a primitive looper.

It's from 2001 btw. I have one I bought when they came out. You gotta remember that they were before all the computer based stuff was really common. I still use mine, run through the effects loop on my even older, hot rod deluxe tube amp. I used to record on tape with it, as I am an older, old school musician. I like pedals more, but the Korg is good too. I like the built in bass rhythm stuff even though they are kind of lame, but overall it's a good piece of kit. I'm glad I didn't sell it because to me it is as good as any modeling amp. Well, maybe not as good as the new Mustang amp, but it's small, and fun to mess around with. Nice video man.

@ Seriously. My main amps are 50+ year old British 100 watters but I’m not so up my own arse that I can’t appreciate a tool for a certain application ya know. Another one I use is a MultiStomp. The vibe setting has kept me from buying a Sabbadius Funky Vibe. Lol.

Got this circa 2002 due to the Satriani/Vai ad. Used the hell out of it. Lost though. Recently bought an old one for nostalgia. Now that I'm a much better player 20 years later I've really gotten the use out of it

I still ♥♥♥ my KORG PX4 and use it for some direct recording. I travel for my work, so I bring it on the road with me for practice with headphones and love the drums and loops and metronome features. It's still the best compact multi-effects pedal of all time in my book.

For example there are 100 effects saved on called P01-P100 and then another 100 starting with U01-U100. But it’s the same. Also if I put the output switch on Low it sounds better. If you select an effect with the up/ down arrows and turn the main wheel will it change the selected effect ? Sorry for that many questions 🥹🫡

For some reason, my PX4 started to "cut" the end of the notes when you let the note fade out, it cuts the audio before the note finish sounding, like a messy noise reduction(?!)

I just rediscovered my pandora also. I enjoyed it so much I ordered one on line for 55 bucks and 10 bucks shipping. Yea just get an adapter and split it out of the headphone jack. I use the aux in from a drum/bass machine and also a looper. Really surprising results. Been playing for 48 years and full time in my recent retirement. I record onto a small tascam and have lots of awesome recordings. I also have top shelf pedals as well.... about 80. Play 8 hours or more out of 24. Peace everyone and be well. Enjoy

What I like about this unit with regards to practice and playing is that it handles picking dynamics very well, also rolling back the volume on the guitar results with a nice clean sound. This a bit surprising that contemporary devices like mooer ge or zoom don't handle that. They sound better , but how they feelsl when playing is way way worse than pandora....

I’ve used mine for over 15 years now and it’s ideal for my requirements as in playing guitar, with headphones on when the kids and the wife have gone to bed. I’ve even bought a backup because the newer ones aren’t as good in my opinion. Wouldn’t use it as a effects unit there’s better stuff for that but as a headphone amp, perfect.

Damn, I definitely lean toward "traditional" when it comes to guitar gear, but I'm starting to really get sucked in by the crushing low end of a 7 string. Maybe I'll get myself one for my 65th birthday! 😳🤔🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Ended up here because I just figured out where my trusty old PX4 had been hiding. I was actually looking for a reminder on how to use the built in looper/jam capability but stuck around to marvel at how good this little old wonder of technology can sound recorded to video. At least as far as I can tell on tiny tablet speakers. 👍🤣

Probably way late to this convo, but I saw a newer stompbox version of the Pandora listed on my local craigslist for $100(ish) U.S. and almost pulled the trigger while my PX4 was apparently in witness protection for a while. IIRC, the "Pandora Stomp" sounded like a pretty cool, more recent alternative to the old PX4.

Or a NUX mighty plug pro nowadays is a good option.
I have that plus I still have my old Pandora PX2 that is 25 years old.
There's something very magical about the Pandoras till the PX4...then they started getting gimmicky and crappy.
I still use my PX2 through the auxiliary in of my Yamaha thr 10C (or any good Bluetooth speaker really) because I can't get the NUX to do certain sounds that the Pandora is just better at.
I've even used it on a few gigs when I didn't need to change patches a lot and it did just fine.
Trick is to get a good dry basic dry sound that works with your guitar, and adjust the EQ accordingly.
Then dick about with adding fx and see what works best.
      They are amazing little things.
