Ed Fernandez Restaurant Birrieria in San Diego has some amazing birria tacos just stateside of the California-Mexico border. The place is always packed (on weekends especially), and the staff is super friendly. The standard birria taco and the quesataco were my tasting menu items. But they have so many different variations of birria tacos, tostadas, quesadillas to choose from. Check out their extensive menu…muy autentico! The birria tacos here are definitely worth the trip to Chula Vista. Kudos to Jorge, the owner, for running such a fantastic restaurant! Ed Fernandez was his brother, and I’m sure he’s done him proud!

Something about tacos, you made a great point in the beginning.
Try a taco by itself, would prefer with no onions/cilantro...that should be right on spot, the rest is extra
