    Reload from disk is very useful. Thanks.

    Great video, and very simple to understand!
    I couldn't get the Negative Volume to work to remove two pieces on my component though. :(

      Glad the video was helpful, but sorry to hear the negative volume wasn't working for you, could you explain further at what point it's not working?
      A couple of possibilities:
      - When you create a negative volume, it only affects the object you created it on. If you've got multiple items on your print bed you'lk need to create a negative volume for each separately imported object.
      - When you apply the negative volume, it won't hide that section of your print until you've sliced the model. If you set up your negative volume where you want it, and then hit slice, the sliced preview should display your model without the section within the negative volume included.

    Good pace thank you. What was the 3D model editing program you used? Thanks,.

      Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
      I use Fusion 360 (by AutoDesk).
      It's a super powerful piece of software and is technically a premium paid for application, but it's free to use if not used for proffit.

    Excellent presentations, learning alot. Only had my Prusa printer for two weeks. Can I do a cut of a section and remove it then merge the two remaining pieces back together using PrusaSlicer? Do you have a video on this? Thanks David

    • @3DRevolution
      @3DRevolution  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey David, you can do it bit it's not a direct feature.
      So to do it, use your 2 cuts to separate the 2 parts you want to keep from the part you want to get rid of, and when you're doing your second cut, uncheck the "Keep upper/lower part" box (depending on which bit you wanted to remove completely).
      You will then be left with the two parts you want to keep but as separate files. Right click on one of them and select "Export as STL", then save it somewhere on your computer.
      Once you've done that, delete the part you just exported from the print bed in PrusaSlicer.
      Next, right click on your 1 remaining piece on the print bed, go down to "Add part", and select, "Load".
      Now select the STL you had just saved to your computer, and this will import it as a secondary component of the same object. You can now use the 'Move' tool to reposition it where you want it to be connected to your object, making sure the two objects are definitely completely touching as intended.
      Then if you click away from that component and then re-select it on the bed, you'll see if you drag it around, it moves both parts togeter as one unit and if you slice it, you will see that they will be sliced as one object too.
      If at this point you need to move one of the components again, you can do so by just selecting it from the list on the right hand side.

    Does Prusa Slicer generate a Line Count? If so, can the Line Count be set to include in Gcode? Nice to have this appear in OctoPrint Plug-in DashBoard. Thanks.

      Hmm, I'm not sure off the top of my head actually. I'll have a look into this though.

    Is there an easy way to flip over a model. Several builds seem to be place in the wrong orentation when flipped over they stand a better chance for success

    • @3DRevolution
      @3DRevolution  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes absolutely. Select a model (make sure you have only one highlighted), then either press "F", or click the tool icon on the left with a picture of a box with an arrow pointing down at the ground.
      A load of white faces will appear on your model and if you click one, it'll be re-oriented so that the face you clicked is flush with the print bed.

    In prusa slicer which settings do ya use to make ur prints looser cuz mine are really strong to move 😢😢

    • @3DRevolution
      @3DRevolution  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Do you mean your prints are hard to remove from the bed after printing?

    • @monsterstorm78
      @monsterstorm78 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@3DRevolution no I mean I can’t articulate my prints like they cant move cuz there so strong 😩

    • @3DRevolution
      @3DRevolution  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@monsterstorm78 Ah I see. So you're printing an articulated print-in-place item but the parts are fusing together? Is it something you're designing or are you downloading an existing design?
      If it's your own design, you probably want to increase the tollerance (the size of gap left between parts).
      If it's one you've downloaded, check if other people have reviewed it. If they have and they've reviewed it badly, then it may just be a bad design. If they've reviewed it well, then it could be a few things.
      If you're scaling it (changing the size of the model from it's default size) that'll affect the tolerances. If you aren't then it could be a number of different things, including over extrusion, moisture in your filament, and several other things. But it's hard to say specifically without seeing the design, knowing what you're printing with and seeing the specific area that's the issue.
      Unfortunately I can't always reply too quickly on TH-cam comments, and there are limitations such as not being able to share photos etc. Channel members (hit 'Join' under my video however can access the 3D Revolution discord however where not only do you have access to the comunity, but you also have a better line of communication with me for help. Even if you're not a member though, I'm always happy and keen to help all my subscribers here on TH-cam, I may just be a little slower at replying and more limited on how I can help due to the platform.
