Thank you! I just changed my spark plugs for the first time and now my 06' Corolla purrs like a kitten (idles wayyyy better) Your video really helped me! I purchased this vehicle from the original owner with 154k and pulled original Denso plugs out! I'd say it was time haha. Cheers
"The Car Care Nut" youtube chanel did not put any dielectric grease on a 2014 Corolla. He's an authorized Toyota Dealer mechanic. And another mechanic said the grease could damage crack the rubber, hmm. Theres already a rubber seal ring on the ignition coil, that suffice the seal.
Easy to follow instructions, thank you. One question I have is instead of the Di-Electric Grease can I just use a bit of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly? The reason I ask is that it looks like the same thing to me and I won't have to buy the Di-Electric stuff if it does the same thing?
Video well explained, gave me the the confidence to say “I can do that” hoping you make a video on front brake pads for the same car thank you Toyota dealer quoted me $263.05 tune up $422.06 brake pads and rotors
You are the first person that explains in detail how much force or turns to make. Why didn't you add any antii seize? Do these spark plugs not need any?
Hi Ludoviko, Thank you. Yes, that is correct, these plugs didn’t need anti-seize on them. The manufacturer says it is not necessary to put it on. Usually when you see a shiny metal coating on the threads, it’s not necessary to add anti-seize. Thanks for watching! -Dan the Fix it Man
@@DantheFixitMan Yes! I just saw another video by or from NGK and they also explained this! I'm glad because this just means the installation is much more doable for the average person like myself! I ordere d the exact same plugs used in your video and I will be installing later this week. Thanks so much!
@@DantheFixitMan I think I did something wrong. I used a socket wrench and not a torque wrench because I don't have one. I can't tell if it vibrates more in idle or is a bit more shakey after install because of this. Maybe I didn't tighten them enough? I think I was also smelling a bit of gas? I need to get this checked before continuing to drive again. What do you think?
Ludoviko Peluche so sorry to hear you’re having trouble. I would not drive it until you get it sorted out. Hopefully it is something easy that you can figure out.
Thank you, I just asked the owner of this vehicle, and he thinks it had been around 80,000 miles since they had been changed previously. Thanks again for watching! Take care, -Dan the Fix it Man
I paid my neighbor to change my spark plugs. Car ran good before , but after he changed the plugs it ran terrible. Asked him about it. He went to "fix " it, made it worse, check engine light came on. He went to "fix " again , it was shaking , and sputtering and wouldn't accelerate when I pressed the gas. He told me just keep driving it around itll straighten out. Well now I am scared to drive it. He said sine gasket seals gone.
Absolutely do NOT use dielectric grease in direct coil ignition like this. Only wires and plugs need this, you can cause serious issues with conductive grease in boots.
Saved me $350-$400. Mechanics are literal crooks. Thank you very much
Thanks for the vid. I’ve done spark plugs before but watched for a refresher. Your video was knowledgeable and left me with no questions. 👍

Thanks for the video because it made for an easier job.
Thanks for the vid, really helped me out, almost forgot what sizes to use lol
Thank you for the video. I just got back from Oreily’s with my new plugs in hand.
Ok so I just left a comment, you liked it and I’m already reporting back that I’m finished! She fired off like a champ! Thanks again.

Is it necessary to unplug the negative terminal battery while removing the spark plugs?
No need
Thank you very much
can I get rid of the engine cover?
Is it necessary to unhook the battery first? Another video did that.
Yes, anytime you are dealing with electrical components on your vehicle you need to unplug the negative terminal on your battery.
awesome vid thank you so much
Informative thanks
Great vid but I can’t find where it says which ones to use in my manual, doesn’t say spark plugs in the index
Great video...do you have any how to change rear brakes of the same car thank you have a blessed day
What do you mean when you say "it seats"?
Good video.
Great clear video👍👍👍
Well done . How many miles were on those old spark plugs?

If you use the type that it came with (laser iridium) then they can go about 120k otherwise for the regular iridium go with 60k
