Happy Father’s Day Tim! Boy are you right about being prepared for an auction, condition, buyers premium, options, tax etc. While I was watching I was comparing prices compared to my current tractor, however I quickly thought of the “options” on mine and realized many of them I would not to be without. As you have mentioned, adding on options on a use unit can be very expensive. Thanks for the fun of the auction. Blessings
Wow! This is interesting to both watch and listen to. Didn't know these tractors cost so much and that they sell so quickly! Fascinating and thanks for sharing this
For the TTWT nut 2025R. I also have a tractor with an aftermarket top link. When I purchase it it didn't come with one because they kept their hydraulic top link. I do have one hydraulic top blank I share between a few tractors. But it mainly stays on the 4520.
Well done video as always Tim and Christi. You all help your viewers save a lot of time on research, and most importantly, research we can trust to be unbiased and done with integrity. Are you planning to do a video recapping your Cloudstore auction? I was able to get a 2038R working with them that was close enough to home I could go pick it up and save some freight costs over the ones they had in Montana and Wyoming. Turned out they were good folks to work with but I would have never given them a second thought without your partnership with them that gave me the confidence they could be trusted to do business with. Thank you for your help realizing a lifelong want (I can’t honestly call it a need 😂) 5 decades in the making. Happy Father’s Day!
That 2025R with the galaxy garden pros was my trade in. I loved that tractor but traded it for my 3039R which I’m in love with. Ashame it went so low. Reynolds lost a lot on that one
Tim, you are correct about the Bad Boy tractor. It sold at an annual dealer auction in February that is local to me. It had 4.4 hours on it at the time and sold for $15,118.75 including the buyers premium.
I just find it interesting that the 4000 and 5000 tractors today are of the same horsepower that we farmed 450 acres of row crops in central Illinois with 2 - JD 720 diesels back in the late ‘60’s. I would still go with the 720’s if I was farming the same today. As a side note, I was part of the John Deere team that converted several parts on the loaders to castings prior to moving the manufacturing of those loaders from Canada to Mexico. I know, TMI,
$35000 auction price is going to be about $41000 after auction fees and taxes if not tax exempt. So not as cheap as it sounds. Plus if needed to hire it delivered that can add even more $1000’s
So is the seller paying a premium to? Back in the day the buyer didn’t pay more than what you bid. 23:38 that transmission looked like it was cracked in the picture but the transmission could have been replaced
Happy Father’s Day Tim!! Thanks for all your continued content!! I’ve learned a lot from your videos and they have definitely helped me make wiser decisions!!
As much as some of those went for the buyers could’ve got a fully loaded Kioti or Mahindra. Only one problem Kioti and Mahindra doesn’t have many dealers though. There is a tractor there I wonder how much it sold for it looks like either a White or another Agco brand from the mid 2000s. Maybe Cristy might let you have that big Agco tractor. It could handle your TS10 with more power to spare. The only tractor that seemed to be a bargain was the Bad Boy. I’m hoping to see what Kiotis will bring at auctions especially the ones that don’t sell. To me, I’d bid on a Kioti or Mahindra since they sell both at the Kioti dealership here. Anther brand I’d like to see auction prices on are Deutz tractors. They look like they’re making a splash again. I wonder if one day Fendt will make some compact and utility sized tractors they make some impressive big agricultural tractors just look at the monstrous 1050.
Interesting, my 2025r (2019) came from the dealer on 31 north (might be called Cicero). I give up on bigger until I see things like this. Dealer in northern Indiana offered me $17000 (no mower) last summer.
Question. I'm just a city boy who fantasizes having a 100 acre farm But I don't understand why so much late model 2020-2022 farm equipment tractors combines come up for auction with low hours. Thsnks
Exactly. Then they started the lawsuit bullshit of repairing your own tractor then they can brick your tractor even legally!! I’ll pass and stick with Kabota or Massey I made that mistake of buying a John Deere product and how do I regret it
I think a big reason the tractors above 25 hp aren't selling well is due to emissions standards.... nobody wants to sit around half a day waiting for the regen to finish....
Actually, the subcompacts are selling the worst. The cab tractors are holding value best right now. I get your point, but the difference is that there isn’t as much inventory of the larger ones, so not so much of a glut.
@@TractorTimewithTim fair enough. In central iowa we have a lot of tractors above 35hp in inventory with few used sub compacts in good condition selling under $20,000
@@GARYPETERSON-t9uah, ok! I suspect some of these tractors were ran some after the auction company recorded their hours. Specifically, that 4066r with the regen issue was ran several hours in an attempt to get it to finish regen.
No radio or a manual seat is not a problem. I have been to farm auctions during rain storms and really heavy snow. The regen issue should be under warranty. Your video was entertaining. Plumbing a 3rd function is not rocket science. The tractors that I watched sell went for cheap. Refurbishing a bucket paint job is a couple hour task. A garden tractor key will start the compacts. .Rant concluded.
Don’t waste your money on a newer Deere product, the corporate is not customer oriented, looking to milk you for everything they can. Seriously my worst mistake was made was switching colors. Left Massey for Deere ☹️. Fool me once never again
@@mightyminifarmwhat opening? I made no such claim. Having said that, they really ARE a technology company at this point. Lots of tech in the new large age equipment.
You can’t expect the top ag equipment company to not keep up with the competition as far as technology and performance in these newer machines. They are a lot more difficult for complex now than ever when it comes to working on them. The price of green is higher but they are also the #1 company in their market and what hasn’t gotten expensive these days. Customer support is also more on the dealer side rather than John Deere corporate. There are a lot of great Deere dealers around the country.
The dealer that I bought mine from is the worst one of their shops took my tractor with a full tank and I got it back with no fuel in it. And what it went to the shop for wasn’t even fixed. Took it to another one of their stores and they sold me a trailer said it was a 14k and it was only a 10k . So if you are going to buy a John Deere don’t buy from Sunsouth and also when it got delivered it was real low on hydraulic oil and the hydraulic cylinders on the backhoe were rusting.

Love the auction videos, especially your commentary as it adds authority to what we're watching due to your experience. Keep up the great work!

He has a new Son in Law.
My main question is the providence of these machines? Who would want to auction like new machines and why? Are they trade ins?

Have you seen the prices of zeroturn/lawn mowers .... they are so high I can see why midmounts would be going high...
What kind of bolt on hooks do you like to use for your buckets
Boltonhooks.com use code ttwt for 5% discount. The ONLY hooks forged in the USA!
Im fairly certain that bad boy tractor came from near me and it sold for 8400 bucks at the first sale.
Decent prices at the auction.
I believe they add another 10 percent buyers premium and 7 percent sales tax so the bargin prices suddenly creep up in price.

Hi tim
Doesnt the tractor have to be quite hot to regen?
It said it was in ‘regen’, but never completed. The engine was running at sufficient RPM to allow the engine to get warm, and complete the regen.
There were some deals there

Another auction video...fascinating as always!
Very enjoyable video Tim. Thanks
Besides the buyers premium, is there sales tax on these tractors?
Yes, unless you have exemption
49k for a 21 4 series?
I know I am looking for a 4 series to do hay and other stuff my 1025r can’t do

Dirt cheap yet they will still make insane profit margins for what it costs to build these. Not a self self loader in sight, what is this the 1960s
This seems like the only way to buy a tractor. Obviously if you painted them orange they'd hold their value better. lol I gota mess with ya !
