Doctor Octopus without a doubt. Such an iconic villain
Right.
The best way to get Hasbro to give us better figures is for collectors to stop putting up with mediocrity like this and not buy it. Until then, they’re just going to continue doing what they’re doing. Let your wallets be your voices everyone!
After reading the comics that led up to Superior Spiderman, Doc Octopus all the way.

I agree with you he doesnt look fat. But in more recent depictions like daredevil TV show and spidey ps4, he doesnt look fat he just looks thick

I thought Kingpin was supposed to be mostly muscle and only "looked" fat.

I’m not going to lie. I like Kingpin better. In fact, Kingpin is my favorite Marvel villain.
Doc Ock is a beast when written well. Also, Kingpin always fit better as a Daredevil villain. Just makes more sense.

I actually really liked the way the BAF looked. I just hated that the wave was so painfully mediocre, which is why I never built it myself. Therefore, this is a great release for someone like me, even with all its flaws
Regarding your question, I think it would be easier if it wasn't for the Daredevil show, because the Kingpin was so awesomely portrayed there. There's also the Born Again storyline. Other than that, Doctor Octopus has always been a pretty badass villain, so I really can't decide between the two. It depends on the day, I guess

Damn, i thought i was the only one thinking that he's not really that fat😂 but, yeah, i guess if you wanna buy him just to be standind on the shelf, you can do it (especially cause it's not everyone that thinks he's not fat enough), but, when it comes for action poses😫.... Also, doc ock is my favorite out of the two

...Doc Ock. Tbh, I haven't really kept up that much with Kingpin in the comics, barring the apparent fact that he became mayor. Doc Ock's just done way more and been through so much.

I actually think this figure was coloured to match the animated series look. The more comic accurate look actually has him wearing striped pants.
Also for your question, I feel the better villain depends on who the hero is. For Spidey definitely Doc Ock. For DD though, Doc Ock doesn't make much sense. It's this guy.
No. This is comic coloring.
I really like this figure, the vibrant colours help it stand out on my Spider-Man villains shelf which is mostly taken up by green villains, the sculpt is really good and sure the articulation isn't great but he does everything I'd want this figure to do, and I've taken it off my shelf plenty of times since August to reposition it and take photos of it, so I'm more than happy to have it.
I think one of the major problems is that his coat is open: I can’t think of many times where Kingpin had his coat open

I personally prefer Kingpin. He's still a major direct threat in a fight, but unlike Doc Ock, he also provides a much more indirect threat 24/7 thanks to his empire of crime and money.
doc ock is one of my favorite Spiderman villain's
in general, Doc Ock in comics and movies/tv. But after the daredevil netflix series, I see potential in Kingpin

I just got this figure since I missed out on the baf but I did not expect him to be so big lol but for my answer I'm definitely picking Kingpin. I find him more menacing :D

Colossus is 7’5” nearly a foot taller than Kingpin it makes no sense for Kingpin to be this big especially considering he is a human.... Thing was too tall too he is 6’ and Rhino is 6’5” so yes they are all too big and make Characters like Colossus look to short.
@@danielbenjaminmesser6234 dog Kingpin changes sizes so many times, same thing with Colossus, he was shorter in Giant Size, Kingpin is big, dude whatchi talkin bout🤦♂️
This figure even makes Hulk look to small.

I prefer Kingpin mostly because he's appeared in multiple different Rogue's galleries. I enjoy him in Daredevil and Spiderman, plus (although I admittedly haven't read superior spiderman) he seems to be a deeper character with more human motivations. Every single fight in Spiderman 2 except for the train fight was just a flippey boxing match where his arms sometimes grab something.
Anthony sounds like he’s in quite a better mood than usual.
Kingpin became my favorite villain ever since he was portrayed by Vincent D'Onofrio

The orange color on the vest does match on the one that I got from Hasbro Pulse. The vest piece on the chest is much brighter than that on the abdomen. Is anyone else having a similar problem?

Yeah definitely Doctor Octopus. He's really cool. Kingpin is okay, but he's not my favorite or anything.
Doc Oc is one of the best villains in the Spiderverse! I was never a huge fan of those design they did of him, like you said he doesn’t look that fat. It’s definitely not that great of a figure I passed on both. It’s always funny to me that they made the art of the character doing a pose the figure can’t do with out looking awkward.

I agree with Anthony about the figure not feeling like a collectible. That has been the case with all the marvel legends that I have bought.
I got excited at first, but after buying from NECA, I kinda regret spending money on Marvel Legends.
The same happened to me I thought ML were ok figures but after some neca and McFarlane they feel and look super cheap, and it's a shame the only alternative is the mafex line which is so expensive that I don't want them haha

Appreciate the brutal honestly, but personally see this as the best Kingpin figure to date at or around the price point. Grew up loving Spider-Man in animation and comics and this Kingpin hearkens back to the classic Romita Sr. Kingpin in the comics, which is exactly what I want in a Kingpin figure. Sure black pinstripes on the pants, and light blue wrist cuffs would have been a nice touch, maybe even an long thin smoking accessory, but for proportions look at his proportions on the cover of Amazing Spider-Man issue 51 and 197. Count me in the more often than not, unimpressed with modern takes on classic characters crowd. Oh and Doc Oct btw.

Kingpin isn't a fat man he's all muscle which makes people think he's fat(and so the underestimate his strength/speed/endurance).
Now there's marvel bs going on like Cap's olympic level stats yet his physique just shouldn't allow him to be op in every event.
Kingpin can't be as big as he is and move like he does.
Netflix Kingpin is really what people sorta realistically expect he would look like but Michael Clarke Duncan was how he would be if they want that pure muscle vibe.
I feel this body goes closer to that. I think this is why Kingpins look changes quite a bit between artists and various adaptions in the media.
But we all want that Spider-verse Kingpin!

I think I prefer Otto Octavius because he’s specifically a Spider-man villain. I think this figure looks good, I like the color scheme because it’s similar to the 90’s animated series.

i remembered before how this so big of a toy have the same price compared to spiderman and others in this series which is quite small compared to him. unlike in gundams where more plastic more price and vice versa. so sad i wasn't able to buy that big rhino before cause i dont have the money that time and the price is quite higher now

Hate the BaF, love the colors. I am happy Hasbro released this as a single figure because it's bad and paying like $100 for an also bad wave just to build this guy was awful enough, lol.
And to answer the question I prefer Doc Ock, guy is definitely more interesting than Kingpin. Doc Ock and Gobby have always been my favorite Spidey villains.

Kingpin isn't supposed to be actually fat. His size is all muscles. Thats why he's so strong in the comics, or at least thats how its explained

I like kingpin as a villain, But I like Dr. octopus as a character more
It's a cool figure, costume design aesthetics wise I think the all white version looks much more intimidating. The all white with black shirt and purple tie make him look like he's in "All Business" mode, either making Billion Dollar deals, or plotting to kill someone's entire family. This "Classic" look makes him seem a little soft.
I bought some sausages at my local butcner and will display those on my shelf instead of this Kiingpin

I know there are some stuff that is lacking. If we are paying 20...which I paid for mine all the things you want fixed will just put the price way up. Seriously if you want better and can afford it ...they have it for a price. When I was collecting the you biz stuff which I have been collecting since the early 80s and we had nothing this cool then they were way cheaper with great accessories and articulation. I am glad to have good looking affordable stuff. Shit I am not rich or all my stuff would be hot toys and sideshow.
