61 years old, not really bodybuilding but definitely a consistent weight lifter with the aim of remaining functionally strong and fit forever.
I’ve steadily increased protein intake and eliminated almost all high glycemic index carbs. I also make sure I get enough healthy fats. So far this is working very well to maintain good body composition and energy levels.
My protein comes mainly from eating 5 eggs per day, liver and heart, and red meat.

Dr Nash i have a question. I am now in a maintenance phase and i just came off my fat loss phase 3 weeks ago. So currently im at 233 lbs. And eventually want to get down to 220-225. Now during my fat loss phase i was eating about 150-190 grams of carbs and my refeed days I would have 300-320 grams carbs. Now since im in a maintenance phase im eating around 3400-3500. My protein intake is at 250 grams. But i noticed when i increase my carbs to 200-250 carbs, my body starts getting a little bloated. Im now changing my diet to do the golden era diet protocol of high protein, low carbs and high fat. Since my protein is set, should I drop my carbs down to 100-150 grams to stay lean and bump my fat intake to over 200 grams to fill out the rest of the calories since going over 200 grams of carbs make me a little bloated? Thanks

Thank you for your comment. I think that you should up your protein to 300 gr., drop your carbs to 100 gr, which will amount to 1600 cal. On top of that i will add 100 gr. of fat from fish oil (10 ml.), Olive oil (30 ml.) coconut oil (30 gr.) and from 5 egg yolks (30 gr.). This will be 2500 cal. (I eat exactly like that), but remeber calories do NOT matter (I will talks about it in one of the next videos). So, try this for 6 weeks, see how it goes and then let me know. Best wishes, N
