    Cute looking game. How have I literally never even heard about this game despite obsessively scouring reddit, youtube, and bgg daily?

    • @BoardGameDave
      @BoardGameDave  ปีที่แล้ว

      Right? 🤣 It seems like it doesn’t get a lot of attention for some reason even though it’s such an approachable family/filler game! And so cheap!

    t think the replayability of this game would be like the game Reef, which is really good! We play it often! It always feels like a new puzzle to solve.

    • @BoardGameDave
      @BoardGameDave  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I’ve been curious about Reef for a long time now and I’ve almost pulled the trigger a few times but the components have stopped me! 🪸 Which is strange because I love coral and the ocean! Good to hear that the replayability is high for that game, though!

      @@BoardGameDave We bought it this summer and it has been out on the table being played at least 3 X a week. The newest edition has different colors than the original, looks better in my opinion, but yes the pieces are plastic, but... I never think about that when playing.

    • @BoardGameDave
      @BoardGameDave  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Wow, 3x a week is pretty impressive! I'm glad it's been such a hit and that it's got the longevity to still make it to the table so often! I'll have to reconsider adding it to my collection! Thank you for the reply! ☺️

    Just found this in a charity shop for $10 Aus brand new. Great review so very excited to play it. I love all the gigamac games, also onitama is great. Play pengaloo with my grandson which is simply the best. Kulami and pentago sre also great games

    • @BoardGameDave
      @BoardGameDave  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wow! $10 is a great price... assuming AUS is close to USD! 😂 I think you'll really love the game-it such a satisfying and easy-to-teach abstract game! (Just like Onitama! I love that one!) I'll have to check out the other games you mentioned-I need some lighter games to play with my very young nieces! ☺️

    I’m typing this before I even watch the video because I am so glad you showcased Shifting Stones. I love it so much! I saw it demonstrated by another content creator a few years back and immediately went and bought it.

      Thank you for your comment and your enthusiasm, Rachel! ☺ It seems like it maybe doesn't get as much love as it should so I'm happy to spotlight it on the channel! So glad to hear that you enjoy the game so much, too!

    Just ordered this game on Amazon; can't wait to play it! My family really enjoys Gamewright games.

      Have you had a chance to play it yet? I sadly left my copy in Pittsburgh when we were visiting Hannah's family! 😰 I hadn't even thought to check out the other games from Gamewright but I'll do that right now!

      @@BoardGameDave Yes! We played it over the weekend; my brother and I both really liked it and can't wait to play it again. It took my mom a few rounds before she started to get the hang of it, we had to help her a bit but she'll pick it up after a few games. My sister-in-law did not like it very much, she said it was confusing and even when she started to understand it she said it wasn't her thing. But to be fair she tends to like games with minimal thinking or strategy such as Cards Against Humanity (although she does really like Sushi Go).

    I really enjoy Sagani. Will check out Shifting Stones on BGA. Thanks for the rec!

    • @BoardGameDave
      @BoardGameDave  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve looked into Sagani before and it looks really interesting! (Plus it’s by Uwe Rosenberg, one of my absolute favorite designers!) 😁 I have played Nova Luna on BGG which seems fairly similar, though? 🌙 Thank you for the recommendation, James!

    • @jamesmorgan1967
      @jamesmorgan1967 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @BoardGameDave I can't really explain why we like Sagani. Not sure about replayability...and yet there's something so satisfying when you complete your tiles and score points (especially the ten pointers...or the times you complete more than one tile in a single turn).

    • @BoardGameDave
      @BoardGameDave  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I haven't played Sagani (although maybe I did on BGA once?) but I have played Nova Luna, and it seems like they're basically the same game? That is a really satisfying one! ☺️

      That's totally fair! And I love that you gave the game away to someone who might enjoy it more! ☺️ I'm not sure if you're more of a heavier-euro kind of gamer, but this certainly might not be "meaty" enough for that type of player! Are there family-weight abstract games that you enjoy?
