Always had a dog in my home since I was little. It the other owner's fault they let their dog outside in a neighborhood without a leash. The first thing it did was run up behind me and lunge when I turned at the sound of running paws approaching. The owner just watched and didn't even call their dog until after I was trying to fight it off. And the first time the owner called for her dog it let go and ran back to her. So the dog was trained well enough to listen to their owner the first time but the owner just stood there and watched. Did even look surprised and just walked off without even asking if I was okay. Point is, there is ALWAYS a bad apple of humans and animals alike, but we don't hate all humans and animals based off the misdeeds of the few. And most of the time, a dog attacking is based off of bad training or the person provoking them. They don't attack for no reason, they aren't mindless and wild

Right, I was 15 when we sat in our garden and we had guests accompanied by 2 dobbermanns. The guests encouraged me to cross the dogs because I found them scary but they said that they were sweet dogs. On the moment that I crossed, one dog bit my leg. It was very painful and the owners told me that it was the first time that the dog bit somebody. There is a first time from everything but I also I like to keep them away from me and my children.

Probably because she knew the pit bull and the owner. It’s not like there was a way of knowing this would happen. You can not evaluate if the dogs attack was intentional. Maybe she did something that scared or upset the dog. Life isn’t as black and white as you, based on this comment, think. I’m horrendously scared of dogs since I was chased and mauled twice as a kid. People laugh at me because I will do everything to avoid dogs. I know not all of them will attack but the trauma is still there. This woman is so positive and strong. I wish her a speedy recovery.
I feel you. I've had some close encounters with dogs (the only bites have been a Maltese, which hurt but my jeans mostly protected me, and a nip from a dalmatian when I was young.) But I've had a couple of dogs kind of come at me when I've been out walking, so as an adult unknown dogs still make me nervous. (And I own two of them, both rescues!) But it's still a hard thing to overcome.

Apart from her lip getting chewed off, I don’t know how she had the strength to not being in so much pain. Literally a big chunk of skin is no longer attached to you and she took pictures. I’m sure I would’ve passed out or feel like I’m in purgatory. Glad she’s on the road to recovery.
It’s because of the adrenaline. Her flight or fight response probably got triggered during the attack. You don’t feel any pain at first due to adrenaline running into your brain.

Umm no, I've gotten my lip split open by a dog as well and i didn't feel no pain at all. I don't believe you have much pain receptors around your lip when caused an instance laceration. I wasn't in any "adrenaline rush" at all

I agree. Everyone takes it differently. She moves forward but was probably panicking at first. The way I would look at it is, if that happened to me, I know I would never be 100% the same. And there is nothing I can do about it. Something I would not want to think about over the next 60 years of life. But if someone was doing this as a career for 20 years somehow, now suddenly, they don't have a job. I could understand why someone could be frustrated and upset. It depends on the stage of life.

I was bitten on my lower lip and it was hanging off but not completely detached. Luckily the hospital I went to called in a plastic surgeon who sewed me back together and now I have very faint scars. I’m extremely lucky and grateful for how it worked out. I pray that this young lady ends up with a good final result down the line. Her positive attitude is amazing!

The same happened to my daughter's lower lips by our neighbor's German shepherd. Her lower lips got sewn back together but 12 years later her lip is still swollen unfortunately.

@@reddd-77 We were living in a duplex and the lease said no pets but for some reason, the landlord allowed our neighbor to have two dogs but made us get rid of our cat. Their dog a week before that had bitten my cousin on the arm and was supposed to be quarantined but instead the owner let it out. A week later while my four year old daughter was outside, their German shepherd got on top of her and bit her lips, especially the lower lip. We tried to sue the landlord, the owner of the dog and city but the lawyers kept on rejecting our case. I don't think the owner of the duplex had insurance.
I didn’t know about this girl until I saw pictures of her and Chloe Lukasiak but I’m very glad. She is a very strong and inspiring woman. To be able to come out of something so traumatic and terrifying with such an easygoing and confident attitude. Very inspiring!!

Probably because she knew the pit bull and the owner. It’s not like there was a way of knowing this would happen. You can not evaluate if the dogs attack was intentional. Maybe she did something that scared or upset the dog.

I’m horrendously scared of dogs since I was chased and mauled twice as a kid. People laugh at me because I will do everything to avoid dogs. I know not all of them will attack but the trauma is still there. This woman is so positive and strong. I wish her a speedy recovery.

I feel you. I've had some close encounters with dogs (the only bites have been a Maltese, which hurt but my jeans mostly protected me, and a nip from a dalmatian when I was young.) But I've had a couple of dogs kind of come at me when I've been out walking, so as an adult unknown dogs still make me nervous. (And I own two of them, both rescues!) But it's still a hard thing to overcome.

Apart from her lip getting chewed off, I don’t know how she had the strength to not being in so much pain. Literally a big chunk of skin is no longer attached to you and she took pictures. I’m sure I would’ve passed out or feel like I’m in purgatory. Glad she’s on the road to recovery.
It’s because of the adrenaline. Her flight or fight response probably got triggered during the attack. You don’t feel any pain at first due to adrenaline running into your brain.

Umm no, I've gotten my lip split open by a dog as well and i didn't feel no pain at all. I don't believe you have much pain receptors around your lip when caused an instance laceration. I wasn't in any "adrenaline rush" at all

I agree. Everyone takes it differently. She moves forward but was probably panicking at first. The way I would look at it is, if that happened to me, I know I would never be 100% the same. And there is nothing I can do about it. Something I would not want to think about over the next 60 years of life.
But if someone was doing this as a career for 20 years somehow, now suddenly, they don't have a job. I could understand why someone could be frustrated and upset. It depends on the stage of life.

I was bitten on my lower lip and it was hanging off but not completely detached. Luckily the hospital I went to called in a plastic surgeon who sewed me back together and now I have very faint scars. I’m extremely lucky and grateful for how it worked out. I pray that this young lady ends up with a good final result down the line. Her positive attitude is amazing!

The same happened to my daughter's lower lips by our neighbor's German shepherd. Her lower lips got sewn back together but 12 years later her lip is still swollen unfortunately.

Their dog a week before that had bitten my cousin on the arm and was supposed to be quarantined but instead the owner let it out. A week later while my four year old daughter was outside, their German shepherd got on top of her and bit her lips, especially the lower lip. We tried to sue the landlord, the owner of the dog and city but the lawyers kept on rejecting our case. I don't think the owner of the duplex had insurance.
