The humans we’ve seen eat a Human Human fruit (Hei is caught up, not a spoiler) only seem to have one transformation, which implies to me that they’re just permanently in their hybrid form otherwise. Luffy is rubber at all times. Chopper has multiple forms because he wasn’t human to begin with.

All Zoan devil fruits give some passives to their users, like Kaido always had his dragon scales even in human form or how Chopper can speak and think human even in the reindeer form. At the very least every Zoan devil fruit user gets permanently a good endurance and survivability buff, double that if the fruit is awoken.

It’s one of my theories that the Gear 4 forms are hybrids. I’ve heard arguments against it with the main one being that what Heisuten said, how they are a combination of is rubber powers with Haki, and I do agree. The main thing swaying me with my theory is the fact that Gear 4, appearance wise, is an in-between of base Luffy and Gear 5. Gear 4 has the flowing hair, it’s just not white. He also has the Japanese mythology scarf thing in Gear 4 through the steam, it just doesn’t have the same bounciness to it like when he is in Gear 5
I agree. I think at the very least gear 4 was already kinda scratching at the nika transform. Its weird that his body gets the marking of the devil fruit after all and it even got the sash like you said. Also there were some abilities that couldnt exactly be explained by rubber and haki alone like kaido mentioned. He even tanked the fire from big mom due to "guts" (aka deciding it wont hurt him)
Humans with the human human fruit don't have a hybrid form. There is no hybrid. Gears was Luffy developing his devil fruit, obviously, but there is no such thing as a hybrid. Luffy is permanently rubber, he doesn't activate it

Chopper has the regular one while Sengoku and Luffy have mythical ones with Buddha and Nika. Chopper has hybrid forms (but he is a reindeer, so that makes sense), and we have only ever seen Sengoku and Luffy go into full transformations.

It's weird cause it requires haki to work tho, and haki is suposed to be unrelated to the devil fruits. Only Luffy tried combining both powers like that. I think in the end or the next big battle Luffy will show the full nika form and probally won't run out of power so quick.

I'd argue all of Luffy's forms are hybrid except gear 5th. When zoan users are in their human form, it usually means they turn off their power but Luffy can't turn off his rubber powers.

When Yamato has to step in and hold Kaidou off because Luffy needs a whole snack break and triage before he can get back in the fight, I consider that to be a case of Luffy needing help, kinda like when Luffy was tired from using Gear 4th and he needed four other supernovas to cover him, and these were not just distractions; they were hurting Kaidou. When Law uses Gamma knife or Zoro uses Dead Man's Game, that's real damage. Kaidou even said that particular attack would leave a permanent scar, and when Kaidou fought the Worst Generation or Yamato or the Scabbards, he had to spend energy to beat them all. He couldn't just plow through them like they were fodder; they took actual effort to beat. Luffy did the most damage, but that's not to say that Luffy did ALL of the damage.

The people Kaido fought did not weaken him or slow him down in the slightest that is my point. Fighting wears you down, and the idea that if anyone besides the main character wounds the bad guy, then that bad guy is weak, seems like such a backwards take to me. If Zoro or Law injure Kaidou, that doesn't mean Kaidou is weak, it means Zoro and Law are strong. That's the whole point; it's characters rising to the challenge of the "strongest creature" by training and trying new things to become stronger.

Rayleigh legit explained that Haki grows stronger in the heat of battle so yess I am saying that on top of Kaido (and Luffy) pulling out far stronger arms at the end of the battle than the beginning in their final clash. Luffy accumulated actual damage because he was fighting somebody greater or comparable to himself. But this logic Kaido fought a 1000v 16 fight because Luffy was fighting a bunch of guys before he even got to Kaido including toppi roppo members. Luffy was way weaker at the start of the fight vs the end and Kaido was “weaker” at the beginning because he wasn’t taking it as seriously until Luffy became an actual threat. I didn’t say Kaido getting a wound by weaker guys makes him weak, he’s not weak but I said if the damage suffered is what allowed Luffy to win would make him weak. For example if Zoros blow from the beginning weakened Kaido enough to allow Luffy to win he would be weak but Zoros attack did not affect his strength durability or combat ability at all he was the same strength before the attack as he was after. All Zoan devil fruits give some passives to their users, like Kaido always had his dragon scales even in human form or how Chopper can speak and think human even in the reindeer form. At the very least every Zoan devil fruit user gets permanently a good endurance and survivability buff, double that if the fruit is awoken.

It’s one of my theories that the Gear 4 forms are hybrids. I’ve heard arguments against it with the main one being that what Heisuten said, how they are a combination of is rubber powers with Haki, and I do agree. The main thing swaying me with my theory is the fact that Gear 4, appearance wise, is an in-between of base Luffy and Gear 5. Gear 4 has the flowing hair, it’s just not white. He also has the Japanese mythology scarf thing in Gear 4 through the steam, it just doesn’t have the same bounciness to it like when he is in Gear 5
I agree. I think at the very least gear 4 was already kinda scratching at the nika transform. Its weird that his body gets the marking of the devil fruit after all and it even got the sash like you said. Also there were some abilities that couldnt exactly be explained by rubber and haki alone like kaido mentioned. He even tanked the fire from big mom due to "guts" (aka deciding it wont hurt him)
Humans with the human human fruit don't have a hybrid form. There is no hybrid. Gears was Luffy developing his devil fruit, obviously, but there is no such thing as a hybrid. Luffy is permanently rubber, he doesn't activate it
@@Anegor thats not true. All zoans work the same. There has been zero confirmation that it would be different for the same species. I think we can probably assume that him being able to stretch at all is already hybrid and that he just never left that stage
@@Anegor We can't say definitively they don't have hybrid forms because we haven't seen an example of one yet. So far, we have only seen three human human fruit examples. Chopper has the regular one while Sengoku and Luffy have mythical ones with Buddha and Nika. Chopper has hybrid forms (but he is a reindeer, so that makes sense), and we have only ever seen Sengoku and Luffy go into full transformations.

i’m glad you liked wano hei. lots of people like to shit on it, possibly because of the impossibly large amount of buildup and hype it had. but imo it has the best self contained story arc and so many 10/10 moments. i think once it’s fully animated, egghead will be the best. but as of now wano is easily my favorite

It's weird cause it requires haki to work tho, and haki is suposed to be unrelated to the devil fruits. Only Luffy tried combining both powers like that. I think in the end or the next big battle Luffy will show the full nika form and probally won't run out of power so quick.

I'd argue all of Luffy's forms are hybrid except gear 5th. When zoan users are in their human form, it usually means they turn off their power but Luffy can't turn off his rubber powers.

How can you possibly say "Luffy didn't need the help" when he got beat three times in one night and needed multiple rounds to finish Kaidou off for good? When Yamato has to step in and hold Kaidou off because Luffy needs a whole snack break and triage before he can get back in the fight, I consider that to be a case of Luffy needing help, kinda like when Luffy was tired from using Gear 4th and he needed four other supernovas to cover him, and these were not just distractions; they were hurting Kaidou.
When Law uses Gamma knife or Zoro uses Dead Man's Game, that's real damage. Kaidou even said that particular attack would leave a permanent scar, and when Kaidou fought the Worst Generation or Yamato or the Scabbards, he had to spend energy to beat them all. He couldn't just plow through them like they were fodder; they took actual effort to beat. Luffy did the most damage, but that's not to say that Luffy did ALL of the damage.

I didn’t say Luffy didn’t need help but Kaido getting jumped isn’t what helped. Sure you could make an argument that it helped if Kaido got defeated because he was exhausted but that isn’t what happened Luffy knocked him out and sent him into a volcano. The people Kaido fought did not weaken him or slow him down in the slightest that is my point. If I get a paper cut it doesn’t hinder me in anyway from doing any task that I may need to handle same for Kaido. His strength level was the same as it was before the battle began, and it may have been even higher by the end due to Kaido using his strongest attacks. Luffy needed gear 5/advanced conquerors to beat Kaido and if he has gear 5 and advance conquerors in the beginning he would have beat him just the same because nothing anybody did before him damage wise literally meant nothing

When Luffy learns Gear 5th, he still has to fight through the damage he accumulated earlier, same as when he learned advanced observation haki. He might learn more over the course of a fight or use different moves, but he's still weaker than he was at the start unless he takes a break to heal/eat. The same is true for Kaidou or any fighter. Fighting wears you down, and the idea that if anyone besides the main character wounds the bad guy, then that bad guy is weak, seems like such a backwards take to me. If Zoro or Law injure Kaidou, that doesn't mean Kaidou is weak, it means Zoro and Law are strong. That's the whole point; it's characters rising to the challenge of the "strongest creature" by training and trying new things to become stronger.

You proved my point with Kaido he didn’t show any exhaustion fighting anybody else but he did like you said fall to his knees and breath heavy when fighting Luffy 1v1 and clouds going away were also a result of Luffy nobody else. Rayleigh legit explained that Haki grows stronger in the heat of battle so yess I am saying that on top of Kaido (and Luffy) pulling out far stronger arms at the end of the battle than the beginning in their final clash.
Luffy accumulated actual damage because he was fighting somebody greater or comparable to himself. But this logic Kaido fought a 1000v 16 fight because Luffy was fighting a bunch of guys before he even got to Kaido including toppi roppo members. Luffy was way weaker at the start of the fight vs the end and Kaido was “weaker” at the beginning because he wasn’t taking it as seriously until Luffy became an actual threat. I didn’t say Kaido getting a wound by weaker guys makes him weak, he’s not weak but I said if the damage suffered is what allowed Luffy to win would make him weak. For example if Zoros blow from the beginning weakened Kaido enough to allow Luffy to win he would be weak but Zoros attack did not affect his strength durability or combat ability at all he was the same strength before the attack as he was after. You misinterpreted my point and made it into something else or name it was intentional to disregard my point
