- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 8 ก.พ. 2025
- I spent a day on New Melones throwing jigs, hoping to ring in the new year with a big one! Did it happen? Watch and find out if I’ve gotten any better on this lake.
Big thanks to Justin Zeller for letting me tag along with him and his trusty sidekick, Ranger, for a fun Sunday on the water!

Hell yea, get jiggy! I love Strike king bitsy jigs. Good stuff Stacey, I can’t wait to be able to fish this yr🎣💯
Hopefully your time comes soon! Thanks for watching! 👊🏼
My advice on the jig just fish it like the Ned rig and dropshot. It's the same thing just heavier. Confidence is everything once you get a few on a jig it'll be natural. Great job and great video Stacy
Good point! I know it’s probably just a mental block. 😂
Looks like you and Justin had a fun day!..we should all get out when Kokanee get goin put the smackdown on some chrome
That look like a fun time for sure.
It’s hard not to give into the dropshot. The jig bite is a tough game in the cold. 🥶
Happy ranger didn’t fall in and your GoPro is safe lol. But the beauty of the jig is they will pull in the bigger fish. Thanks for sharing 🎉. Looking forward to the next one.
I did try the drop shot after a few hours but got zero bites! Just tough all around. Thanks for watching! 👊🏼
Haven’t fished there in a couple seasons. Water level looks way better than it has been. Great video.
Thanks for watching! 👊🏼 This was my second time fishing for bass there. Hopefully I can get on a good bite one of these days!
Nice day for great fishing 🤗
Great time out there!
Great Video! Nice Catches! I also need to use Jigs more often too!
Yep, I need to get over that mental hurdle! Thanks for watching!
@StacyGoesOutside Yes! Me too! You're Very Welcome!
Drag and feel the bottom the whole time!! Less is more!
Gotta remember that! 👊🏼
Nice job, Stacy! New subscriber! I do mainly surf fishing but I want to try fishing the ponds around our town here in FL for bass. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching! I’ve fished a few FL ponds and loved it!
@@StacyGoesOutside if you have any tips for me I’m all ears! I’m planning to record some footage for my channel while I’m figuring it out lol
Jigs are awesome. Try to feel the bottom or count rocks as they say. I throw 1/2 or heavier to stay on bottom. Get use to the weight of the jig. Three types of bites are the thump, line moving sideways, and not feeling your jig which means fish has the jig and moving towards you. Goodluck 👍🎣
Got on em good!
Thanks! As you saw, I can only take partial credit. 😂
Wow, your first fish was a turn off the camera moment. Lol Try a twin tail grub green pumpkin blk flake. On quarter ounce football. Thats how i learned how to get good with jigs. From my experience ive caught way more bass on the yamamoto twin tail grub than on jigs. Maybe just due to the places i fish. So far my PB on a twin tail is a 7 pound spot at pineflat reservoir east of fresno. Ive never caught a bass over 4 pounds on a full jig. And for the set up use a medium action rod. Often you can see the deflection at the rod tip better. And with an exposed hook. You still get good hooksets.
Thanks for all the great information! 👊🏼
Awesome Intro!!
Thanks! So many memories!
Jigging does pay off.
It’s a must in your arsenal for the delta.
I struggle at it.
I struggle keeping the rod N my hand with no bites.
When they start hit N you forget all about it.
Yep, just need more time on the water with them!

Welcome, and thanks! Every trip is a learning experience!
One nice bass is better than no fish.
Right? The laughs always make up for it.
Looked like a fun time, but that dude is a bum!
The absolute WORST. 😂😂😂
