    My wife is Chinese and she has been boiling peanuts in different herbs for several decades and they are the best I have ever had and way healthier than any other recipes I have tried.

      @@jeffarp7409here’s a Hawaiian style boiled peanuts recipe that similar to Chinese style recipe.
      1 1/2 pounds raw peanuts
      1/3 cup Hawaiian red alaea sea salt
      16 cups cold water
      6 to 8 whole star anise pods
      2 inch ginger piece, thinly sliced
      Pinch black peppercorns

    When I was a little feller my dad would go to a peanut farm in Alabama and bring back a sack full of peanuts. I'd help him put some on
    a big sheet pan and he bake them in the oven. I'd go outside to play with pockets full of roasted in the shell peanuts. Good old days!! Pensacola

    2:40 haha loving those little elbow bumps. Also never thought of canned boiled peanuts. We live in Georgia but when my grandparents were alive, they lived in Arkansas and we would drive to visit them during the holidays. Always stopping in Alabama to get some boiled peanuts on the side of the road but that was back in the 80s and 90s. I probably would be too scared these days to buy some boiled peanuts off the side of the road in rural Alabama like we used to.

    There was a peanut field behind my granny's house in cozier Alabama I can remember digging those things as a kid too boil. Granny would also make peanut brittle during that time of the year

    Over in South mississippi we put them on the barn roof to dry after we pulled them. They are excellent to eat that way

    They grow a bunch of goobers here in South Georgia as well. I grew up on boiled peanuts 🥜 and Georgia Bulldog football. 😉

    Had boiled peanuts one time when we were going to Disney World down in Florida. It surprises a lot of black people when I talk about boiled peanuts and kalrabi too. We can buy that at any farmers market up here in Wisconsin so it will grow up here

    I recall my grandma boiling peanuts. Never particularly cared for them, but fast forward all these years, I think it’s more because of the family’s preference to boil them plain. I much prefer them seasoned and salted.

    I'm in coastal NC and we grew Virginia's (variety) peanuts for 10 years. The price got so poor we sold our equipment a few years ago. We grew for Hampton Peanut in Suffolk, VA. They look like runners you're pulling.

    OOH, canned boiled peanuts i never thought about that. That would be a good way to store them. Because I hate having to boil some every time you want some. Because if you boil more than you can eat they will go bad after a few days. Good idea.

      Boil up a batch and freeze them in a freezer bag and thaw them until hot and enjoy them again! I have 3 quarts in my freezer right now and will enjoy them for later when it’s cold out there!

    I live in Wyoming but several years ago I visited my sis in Georgia & tried those peanuts, Yummy! My sis, dad & mom from Illinois & my future x-wife from Calif hated them. Funny, I also enjoy rocky mtn oysters & they don't. I must be adopted!

    Good southern stuff! If any of you Yankees wonder what a boiled peanut tastes like, the closest thing I can say is they are similar to a good tasting pinto bean in taste and texture. Not exactly, but close.

    Just finished the last package I had in the freezer. My bother and I order at least a couple sacks each yr. ..ordered from a place in New Orleans.
    Texas grows millions of tons of peanuts but you never see green peanuts for sales.

    Other thing my sister in law did (second generation okie) was pour Planters peanuts in to a can or bottle of Coke. Her Dad was the one that made us boiled peanuts every visit.

    My long gone wife use to keep a pot of boiled peanuts on our wood heater nearly all the time on the warm part of the heater just go by and get a handful anytime

    what you do for deer eating all the green top off your soy, peanuts and okra- now they are getting after the squash and pumpkin ... before season opens through summer been a problem...my bow knows what to do in a week crenshaw

    I prefer the inverter,picker,peanut wagon,5 gallon buckets , leaving the rattlesnakes in the wagon method,much easier imo.. 😂

    Texas is a leading producer of peanuts and has the distinction of being the only state to grow all four types: Runner, Virginia, Valencia, and Spanish.
    The state also leads the nation in growing organic peanuts.
    Ha !! ...but they don't know the 1st thing about boiling green/fresh peanuts.

    I don't know about the largest boil Jeff, we do a pretty big boil over in Floresville Texas. Floresville is known for peanuts.

    Why are they ALL 2 nuts per shell? Where are the smaller shells with 3 and 4 nuts each? Those are the ones i prefer. After further review i spotted a couple 3s but no 4s.

    I had rather boil dry peanuts. It takes a little longer but the nut comes out of the hull in one piece, not mashed or mushy.

      I agree. Dry peanuts boiled are best. Green peanuts boiled are nasty.

    Make sure the peanuts are not Georgia green . They don't boil soft. When they cool down.
