Nitpicking the plot of this game is missing the point. It's designed to be over the top and bombastic. It's almost a parody of itself. It's a satire of modern culture with commentary that still is fresh today. It looks fantastic on PC and just driving around and listening to music and running into the odd mini game is a blast. Still a masterpiece in nearly every way no doubt. Not to mention one of the funniest games ever? The combat is still clunky IMO and there is no stealth aspect but that can be worked around and I have no doubt will be improved next game.

But man, when I played back in the day, it felt like the best game ever to me. I don't feel that anymore, I've played other games since then that have taken the best game ever spot, but it's still pretty up there.

An interesting concept I have is to take GTA and make it about whatever the player chooses. In the beginning of the game you can decide between Police Officer, Cab Driver, EMS, Firefighter, Criminal mastermind, or Vigilante. With each of these choices having a different story filled with new and different character interactions and locational differences. You can still play the game like GTA with the driving and all the other fun gameplay but your story is shaped by the connections you forge, karmatic ranking, and overall choices you make during the story.

@@vegetasticknodes27 uh your def a kid. you probably play gta online and say its the best gta. im saying storywise not graphicswise. gta 5 story is kinda shit but graphics are good but gta 4 story is goated.
GTAIV is the pinnacle for me. GTAV’s much more realistic graphics took away a whole layer of art style so it’s less beautiful to my eyes and less cohesive as an experience. 5 feels good at 60fps though. I’ve always had consoles and I’m fortunate enough to have XSX and PS5 but not fortunate enough to have ever had a gaming PC so even though I agree with you about the weight and feel of the cars in 4, moving my character in all Rockstar games has sucked because they all felt like drunk simulators and the fact that they’ve never launched a GTA on console at anything but 30fps doesn’t help. It’s their trademark animation and control systems too but the 60fps versions of GTAV did improve the awful sluggish feel somewhat. I guess that’s what most concerns me about GTAVI is what Alex at Digital Foundry said, he’d like to be proven wrong but he’s almost certain that 6 will launch at 30fps on consoles, as usual. I’ll still be buying it but that’s going to suck!
@@fluffypuppy2918not really any game like gta online but nothing with it, bro probably just played that game all the time and got bored or is just trash at the game

In my opinion, GTA V was/is very childish. From a narrative, gameplay, dialogue, and even character perspective. The game is great and is fun, no doubt. But you can just tell it reeks of "GTA for the masses". It clearly feels like it caters to adults AND children with the Michael Bay-ish set pieces.
I think you're wrong. I've just started playing and nothing except rdr2 even comes close to this game. The graphics, the driving, the gunplay and story are all superior to every thing since. But it's still not perfect and the story is messy though fun. Other open world games like cyberpunk launched a broken mess and have yet to come close to gta5 despite poorly copying it at every opportunity. The ps5 graphics are amazing or atleast the faux 4k 60fps ray tracing is but it's the sheer sense of speed that makes me feel sick as I drive which beats any other title like it. In ten years games have become significantly worse and that a real shame.
I only completed gta 4 and that was forced. I've always held sleeping dogs superior to gta excluding the graphics. Really, that's all gta has IMO. Graphics. Now the red dead series. Now that's a story.
GTA and red dead are cool and all but this tapping the button to run shit is trash I’m aware the game has it where you can put the analog to run on red dead but it’s still trash especially cause you gotta tap it again to run faster it sucks plus on red dead online being in a fight with the analog being the run button you can press it and it won’t get you out of reloading animations or some animation you’ll be stuck in the be shot and die but if you got it to tapping the button to run it’ll cancel the animation and let you get away which is wack so I got to have it to tap to have that advantage in a fight it’s ridiculous these games are good mostly red dead 2 gta5 been the same game for years but red dead 2 was amazing only thing that’s annoying about these games is tapping a button excessively I know these guys are probably gonna do the same button layout like always and run mechanic on gta6 but come on get with the times already
I have to ask, what exactly is the gameplay in this game besides operating vehicles and shooting people? By the end of the game, what exactly have I accomplished or earned that reflects my ability to play the game differently than at the start of the game? More guns to shoot? More vehicles to operate? How do these mechanics expand the variety of gameplay on offer? Or what does the game do to show that I've improved as a player with my skills and ability to approach the game in new and interesting ways? I ask because GTA is a franchise where I've tried really hard to understand the entertainment value beyond the exploration, sandbox elements, and it's satirical take on western culture. I want to understand the progression and how the gameplay develops in fun and interesting ways beyond driving somewhere, shooting something, or participating in some mission that's nothing more than a gimmick. I've invested over 20 hours in this game and it simply feels like I'm just doing the same thing over and over again but with a different coat of paint. I'm not trying to suggest it's a bad game, but rather perhaps I'm missing something critical when it comes to the gameplay loop and progression that makes it so entertaining and ultimately worth playing. If I want to consume media about a comedic representation of western culture, why don't I just watch a TV series or movie of a similar nature? If I want to drive cars or fly a plane, why don't I play another game centred around that particular game mechanic? If I want to go around shooting people, why not play another game that offers far more depth and variety in the shooting genre?
I would love it if Rockstar made a Bladerunner-esq game - with a whole futuristic city with depth, new tech and storylines. GTA but in a future New York or something. They went backwards in time with Red Dead, they need to go forwards now.
The debate of linear vs freedom I think it comes down to personal preference and there are ups and downs to both. Both are amazing games.
CAN WE PLAY ONLINE ??
GTA 4 driving sucked. Uncontrolable vehicles due to crazy shock absorbers. No stability whatsoever!
I just replayed gta 5 for the first time in like 4 years and 😅 can honestly say the game is brilliant. The story is great and well written for me. I love it so much
For my portable Steam Deck should I buy GTA5 $10 or Metro Exodus $6? I know both are good games but 2 totally different games.
Bought for 30 euro’s from a friend on PS3, bought online for 20 on PS4 and now playing on PS5. Best game ever. Imo.
Nah gta 6 announcement is on the 20 year anniversary, you’re a decade too early
Not early enough :D
I’ve never played GTA V. It’s on sale for PS5, I’m going to give it a try.
Can anyone suggest me any game which i should buy now as i have recently bought a gaming laptop and i wanna play game on it. Also forza horizon 5 i was thinking to buy but it also feels borring after 1 or 3 weeks please suggest any beast game which i would never regret
@@sincityfox its removed from the steam
comparing gta 5 to modern open worlds is pretty short sided look at other open worlds from 2013 and gta 5 is leaps ahead of them
GTA open world is better than plenty of games released recently
Not max Payne 3
The last of us 1 has better graphics
@@Hidden_lvlnot better than red dead 2
Lmao I barely hopped on gta v online for the first time yesterday it’s pretty dope my brother hooked me up with everything there like how the hell is he level 1 with everything 😂
Yoo how
Cayo lol
I think gta 5 is the best gta game till now
Nah you're a kid man best GTA game is either San Andreas or GTA 4
For me open world and character better in GTA5 than GTA4
@@jadenpollen34 bruuuuh are u joking 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 i dead laughing what are u talking about bro ? WAKE UP TO REALITY
@@vegetasticknodes27 uh your def a kid. you probably play gta online and say its the best gta. im saying storywise not graphicswise. gta 5 story is kinda shit but graphics are good but gta 4 story is goated.
@@maskva-u6f its okay if you say the characters in gta 5 are better cause they are BUT the story in gta 5 is not better than gta 4
I STILL LOVE THIS GAME
The game supposed to be Bombastic and Over the Top, it is a sarcasm on the modern society
I mean i got gta 5 a month ago and its literally better then 95% of the games i've played
I hate the online gta5. I prefer The story mode.
I never played GTA5 it's on sale rn and im really considering
Hello, is it worth playing GTA 5 again in 2023? Because I want to download this game again.
for the singleplayer yes, multiplayer absolutely fucking not
@@flowerflocwhy ? Can u suggest some games that can be played with friends not fps games like Apex legends more like gta5
@@fluffypuppy2918not really any game like gta online but nothing with it, bro probably just played that game all the time and got bored or is just trash at the game
even if the game was 1k$ its worth playing
i could confidently agree this game is the best IF THEY actually upgraded it instead of cutting corners like imagine if they remade this whole game from scratch
It never was to begin with.
Stop hating

Let's see if GTA VI can match this, 2025!
I love GTA V. It’s my favourite
Replayed it over 10 times. Currently replaying it
I hate any online stuff
In my opinion, GTA V was/is very childish. From a narrative, gameplay, dialogue, and even character perspective. The game is great and is fun, no doubt. But you can just tell it reeks of "GTA for the masses". It clearly feels like it caters to adults AND children with the Michael Bay-ish set pieces.
Game so good. People pretend to hate it just be appear different
hope they fix all the modder's and cheaters on pc online
The best GTA V ever was was "not bad for a GTA game."
Literally the game reached 1 billion in sales
It is still a fantastic game, it is just the online that has been milked way too much.
You will be playing as 2 protagonists male and female
I wanna buy GTA 5 for 17$, do you guys think its worth it?
Yes it is time to see a new innovative GTA game and that is indeed GTA 6 that game do needs to step it up it is taking forever to release
Should i buy spiderman or gta5?
Spiderman 2 is a go
GTA5
I play story mode because I like a good story mode
No other game comes close to GTA 5 even now .
Witcher 3
2023 is the worst year for gta online. Super unbalanced, horrible lobbies, to many invisible stops while racing. Hot garbage. Ready for the new one.
At the ending I pick c because I can not bring myself to killed them
Gta online>> Rdr online
bruh even gta v story mod is >= rdr2 story mode
@@vegetasticknodes27lol😭😭😭😭tfffff rdr2 story>>>>>> gta5 story zero diff but gta 5 online>>> rdr2 online zero diff
still don't compare to saint's row 1 to 3 but it's fine
I like story mode alot
I'm sorry but 4's gunplay is hundred times better than 5.

I would love it if Rockstar made a Bladerunner-esq game - with a whole futuristic city with depth, new tech and storylines. GTA but in a future New York or something. They went backwards in time with Red Dead, they need to go forwards now.
still prefer IV by a long shot
GTA5 is not my favorite GTA and is not in My Top 5 rockstar games but its a fantastic Open world.
