Taking stairs has proven to be really good for me. I'm 80 years old and not someone who exercises a lot but for over 30 years I have taken the stairs to my apt. ,and only one flight; It has absolutely helped me in my old age. I don't like elevators so that's why I started doing stairs and soon realized the benefits. My legs, thighs are strong. I also use stairs to go to upper floor i my pharmacy while most other customers use the elevator. two flights!. My advice is use the stairs whenever possible.

This video really helped me. Especially the end. My dad ridiculed me for looking in the mirror. For how many times I showered and for why I was showering. Who I was talking to. If I was “acting” different. And finally in times of distress I would lose my appetite. He would make comments on my body if I would gain or lose weight. I cherish this video deeply because it took along time to feel like it was okay to care about how I look, and to be a little vain :)

I’m 61. At 42 I had a dream body. I worked hard to get it. Now, I’m no way that way 😂 but I’m going to start working out again soon and keep it up no matter what. It’s really important to keep it up, not stop. Not worry about what you look like or when you’re going to look great, just know by doing what you know you need to do, the results will come naturally. My goal is to be Mr. Hotty by next year. I’m planning to spice up my life with my new look. ❤ love how you said to exercise slowly and correctly to avoid injuries (and avoid looking ridiculous). ❤

The only time it’s appropriate/proper to drop the weight is if you’re doing Oly lifts, and hopefully you’ll have an Olympic platform for that. I’m seeing more and more Oly weightlifters at commercial gyms, and more and more gyms providing those platforms. You might hear people (correctly) dropping the weight because of that.

What I love about this (and there are many things, especially bringing a mason jar to the gym because plastic isn't beautiful ) is that your physicality is a product of time, practice, and consistency - just like your harp, pottery, calligraphy, and watercolor. Because I listened to my inner voice and came to the conclusion that I am really ok with myself, even though I have gained weight over the past 5 years due to different reasons and even though I don’t like how my body looks now, I am still ok with it, I feel good about myself cause as a human being I give my best every single day. The last 5-6 years was me trying to work out just to loose weight to fit the normal bmi and failing at it. Somewhere in Dec 2023 i said enough, i wl simply move my body somehow everyday. If its work out with weights/yoga/hiit/liit anything. If nothing else i wl simply go for a walk post dinner. And i gave myself permission to stop any of this at any point, if some days its 10 mins thats fine. And what do you know i have lost 4 kgs and have kept if off with a 2 day wedding attended in between. I eat pretty consciously always and i am so so proud of myself. This video just gave a boost ❤

This was great. Thank you. My husband and I love you. Would love to have a video on how to have a conversation- listening, not talking over the other person, getting clarification instead of making assumptions, etc. would love to have your take on it. Another video on mindset as you discussed here. How to stay positive? How to improve? How to be at peace? Love to get your take on that as well. Thank you for all you do and all you are and all that you will be! 😊 ❤️

11:31 M.S.Subbulakshmi A Tamil singer and considered one of the best Indian singers of all time. Definitely give it a listen if you guys haven't Carnatic music from South India is completely different beast compared to Hindustani music from the North. Carnatic Music is pure Indian while Hindustani Music is a mix of Persian/ Arabic/ Turkic music with Indian so it follows a lot of music structure that is common to Abrahamic origin music. Carnatic music like Japanese or Chinese is completely different.

Thank You for this video! I could tell that you worked out because you always look good in your clothes, and you always have that confident aire about you!
I've been working out one way or another for over 40 years. A long period of that was 'body building'. Now, in my 70's, it's walking 3.5 miles a day and 50 minutes of yoga every day. Since I started working out I've had a mantra....IF YOU DON'T TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY, WHERE WILL YOU LIVE? Also, when anyone was starting a program of any sort, I would tell them that YOU WON'T SEE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR BODY FOR SEVERAL MONTHS..........BUT, YOU WILL SEE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR MIND WHEN YOU WALK OUT OF HERE TODAY!

Great points you make Rajiv! I'm older than you and working out actually makes me emotional. Get me outside hiking and I'm fine but going to the gym is a big ask that usually results in another failed attempt. Getting myself to the point of having this be pleasurable in some way is my goal. Making it an enjoyable part of my routine is something I continue to want to manifest. Setting an intention, being organized, remembering how good it feels, making it pleasurable -- dare I say fun in some way -- are the keys to success for me. Loved the video on many levels!

For me it helps, when I start very small, just lift some tiny weights a few times and slowly progress. Also: if you can find some uplifting music to listen to that helps too! After a few weeks I can lift much heavier weights, and it starts to be fun again.

You crack me up Rajiv 😆. The Rocky-esque soundtrack wasn't lost on me, about spit out my tea when you mentioned Jesus having a 'six pack' {abs}. Neanderthals from Bedrock who throw down weights & grunt are often 'newbies' to weight training, the remaining percentage tends to be show offs. Give newbies time and they usually realize how silly it appears. I love weight training and use the machines & weights you did. One I didn't see you use {unless I missed it} is pulldown bar, it works shoulders, back, and arms, love it. Yup weight training is just as much about mind as it is body, more so in the mind. I can attest It improves other areas of life!
