- This is a long one folks. Took a bit of time to upload because I stopped a million times and obsessively dissected the lyrics. LOVED it so much. It took longer than I expected for it to upload since it was longer... next up is Nanping Evening Bell!
Update - after watching it without the lyrics I love it even more. I can appreciate all of his body language and the melody and such a lot more! He's so talented in so many ways!

For his short hair, I guess someone had told you in the last video, he was failed to snatch his own concert ticket and he said before that if he failed again, he would shave his hair and add one more concert. And we have 3 nights concert in total.

You are on point with the interpretation. With Hua you may get depressed with many of his songs but in a good way. He's a very emotional singer and his compositions of late are of social awareness. He's just fantastic all the way around and very enjoyable to watch. Sometimes it's hard to concentrate on the lyrics while watching his stage performance because you never know what you're going to miss.
Yeah I've watched this ones SEVERAL times now, and there are so many things I missed while watching it.
HCY is a genius and a complex person. His song always has many twist and turn and his transition to different genre in his song is always surprising but smooth like butter.
Hello again! So glad you reacted to HuaHua’s own new music and concert video. Hua suffered a bout of depression in early 2019, mainly because he’s been mistreated and overworked by his company over the years. Out of this bout of depression, he composed 3 songs about it, all with light and beautiful music opposed to very deep and serious lyrics. These 3 song are
Conversation with Children of Mars (a chat with his fans),
I Really Want to Love This World, an amazing song to give awareness to depression, he broke all selling records with this song
Madhouse, you understood his lyrics very well, although the lyrics are metaphoric, they are very relatable
A 4th song is 7 Personalities, it’s a more of a metal piece of music, to me a masterpiece that I adore, it’s about the 7 stages or more we go through in life.
Please keep on reacting to HuaHua’s concert videos as they indeed tend to less get blocked. There are very deep songs, there are also lighter songs like Bomb Squad, Seek, IQ 250, My Skateboard Shoes, plenty of Hua’s unique music.
I want to say that HuaHua’s performances in Singer 2018 are amazing but they have been reacted A LOT, there’s a fringe of fans who will only ask for these reactions, keeping Hua into a tiny box with the lid tightly shut and I hate that. I want reactors to react to all his music and push him forward instead of keeping him forever stuck in 2018. Pffff 🙄 Sorry for the rambling but it’s so true 😂❤️✌🏻

@@dotfaith7068 It is so well worth it, the music is beautiful and so uniquely Hua’s style. Just keep in mind he doesn’t only have dark sad songs. And you don’t need to react to all his sad songs in a row. I’m saying this because whenever you’ll react to a sad song, you’ll be recommended to react to another sad one ❤️❤️

@petronille martin Thank you! My thoughts exactly! HuaHua has so many good songs other than singer 2018. He also improved a lot since almost 3 years ago. His own compisitions especially the new songs from 4th album are his best works, but very few reactors watch them. And I don't understand why many viewers only recommend fake monk and Dad I'm home, as if he only sang these two songs.
Another reggae style. He often quotes different genres in his music so perfect. It seems to be no style can stump him. He is incredible.

Thank you, you did Madhouse! One of my favourite songs of him. This is masterpiece, he is a genius and yes its reggae. And yes, he also had depression and bad breakdowns and there was a moment when he wanted to leave this world (Don't wanna get into this discussion here cause it is painful for me just thinking). This song is part of a trilogy, this is the 2nd one. Thank you so much for this reply, this is so sad to hear. Depression is a really terrible illness and I can relate to him so much and that also makes me sad. I always worry for people who are in the lime light because it must be so hard to feel loved by so many people but somehow still feel alone. It happens to way too many people.
@@dotfaith7068 yes thats exactly what he said. He gathered too many negative emotions and he felt so lonely, but even if with time people wanted to give him their love and support, he rejected them. He is still lonely now, in his own world, during this summer he was in seclusion, alone at home, more than 100 days.
He does all kinds of styles, throughout the years he wrote hundreds of songs. Never releases all of them but he’s so creative. Reggae is one of the things he has developed, he also said he always wants to keep improving and he obviously does.

Reaggae was origanally used that way ... happy carefree melodies to «mask» the often political rebellious lyrics. Just listen to one of Bob Marleys early songs. In the Madhouse lyrics there are a lot of contradictions/opposites and the melody/genre is another layer of that. And in the end he plays the melody of Conversation with children of Mars.

I've learned to be very open with mental health and so was extremely happy to find a song that I could relate to and commentate about, this song is just beautiful and I can't imagine anybody not finding something they can relate to in it.
Madhouse is the second song of the trilogy. He ends this song with the tune to the third song. Love this temptation.

EDIT: He composed a lot of his own song, but the only song that he write the lyrics on his own, "Why nobody fights" is also pretty interesting...hahaha
Ok that's interesting. So even when he is on the show The Next and he composes his songs? So like when he was writing the rap for "Nanping Evening Bells" does he have a writer helping him out? That would make sense with only have a day to completely rewrite a song like he does.
@@dotfaith7068 On the show the next, there is where he sharpen his writing skill. He has collab/partnership with a close friend/famous composer which guiding him. They collaborate a lot as early as Hua Chenyu debut until now. He played a part in helping improve Hua's writing skill to be more matured.
Edit: His name always appear side by side with Hua Chenyu in composing a song, some time his name followed by Hua, some time it is the other way around. For "Nanping Evening Bells" , it is Hua first, followed by him.
@@TheExtraterrestrial99 Are you talking about the rearrangement? He always prefers writing the melody on his own because he does not want anyone to touch his music. And when he finished the demo he already had the idea of the instruments that should be used and what it should sound like. The person who is helping him with the arrangement also confirmed that in an interview. And Hua is also learning from that person to bring his idea into practice for the arrangement part.
@@irislpiano880 He has his own idea and prefering his style, but he has someone assisting him. Especially the show, "the next season 1", it is not always only his name being listed on the arrangement part.
Edit: Him and Bernard Cheng always appear together on the compose/arrangement part, the different is who name appear first and second(Means who did more in the part). In the next season 1, sometime there is no Hua name, sometime he appear on the second, through that show he slowly taking the in charge part to be appeared in the first.
He always has his idea on his song/arrangement since the start, just doesn't have enough to fully produce a whole matured song by his own, he improved a lot throught that show.
@@TheExtraterrestrial99 i know that...because I saw you said "writing songs" that confused me. He almost never working with others when composing a song/ melody. But do need help when doing the arrangement. He said He need some one to make his ideas into practice(except for the songs that only use piano)

I totally agree with you, it is very like the state of bipolar. It jumps between a very calm, lonely almost depressing feeling and an energetic, carefree almost mad feeling, and I personally think the shouting of "mama" is not a cute thing, it's more like a person in absolute darkness gets afraid and looks for his mother as instinct response. And the title madhouse is like the mental health problem, it is not a prison but people feel they are trapped in it, but sometimes don't try to be "normal" they might feel free and happy for a moment. This is my favorite song of him. I wish everything would get better for you, maybe hard, but I could tell from your talkings, you got the strength inside of you.

What I think about these lyrics is, either they were masterfully translated, or they're accidentally mis-translated into awesome lyrics anyway.
I think they're about the stigma of depression, treating it as an aberration, as something that shouldn't happen, and that you'd be unlucky to have it. When instead it's a natural, even appropriate response to hardships. If we were allowed, and supported, in "Quietly drowning in the gentleness of darkness," without being told we should try to get over it. maybe we'd fare better... The first song of this trilogy is about the shame of being depressed, this one is about acceptance, and the third one is about reaching out for help. It's just amazing what he's trying to do for his society.

There's two version, Code Name Contra and Contra in the wild(something like that).
Code Name Contra was a song he had to do make within 24 hours given only the title Contra to work with.
While the other song is a remix of the first song with more of a western style in it.

Finally I found someone has the same feeling with me！I think this song is describing bi-polar and he is suffering from it…His parents divorced when he was little and he lived with his rigorous and serious father who was very busy on work and barely at home during his child time. I also think he "died" in another song of him called"Seven Personalities". Of course you can check this later after taking some happier ones🤪
No, he is not bipolar, he suffered from depression and now he is better. If you dont follow him closely, don't spread fake rumors please because it is a delicate subject for all of us, his fans, and painful already for him. He is such a special soul, so fragile yet so strong. And he didnt die in 7 Personalities,I would write a novel here to describe the depth of philosophy that song carries.
