Best mako I caught was over 1000 tonnes, it was half the length of an aircraft carrier. Hardest 15 minute fight of my life!!
Let's go Georgia's dad!! Well be watching from The Netherlands boysss🔥🔥
Keep up the awesome work
Thanks legend!!
My best was mako was 45kg, I've lost much bigger models. I don't really chase them anymore and get looked down on here in nz
Ahh I see. So people don’t target them in NZ anymore?
@@TascastFishingnah. Mostly just bronzys are targeted here in NZ
Well done team, glad you enjoyed your weekend, my best was around 240kg, wifes best at 313kg, iceage
Whoah, that’s sensational! Nice work to you both. How long ago was that? Still thought there would have been some bigger models weighed in this year.
@@TascastFishing the 313 was back in 2013, did expect a few larger models but thats fishing
These sharks are low in numbers compared to what they used to be. You shouldn't be fishing these creatures if they are listed as endagered which they are.
How do you know these sharks are in low numbers have you counted them. Tim does more than most when it comes to looking after our fishery tags and releases plenty. I don’t think taking the occasional shark will hurt our fishery.
@@pauldelphin1771 If they are one the official endagered list by the IUCN and for years there have been measures in Australia (all public knowledge) to try and stop fishing for these animals. A trained fisherman like himself should know not to catch and keep endagered species. It is that simple.
@@AngelMMA1436 I’d be upset if there weren’t a few people in the comments of this video worried about their population.
People need to get their facts straight..
The only reason why the world wide fishery stocks are depleted is due to overfishing by the commercial fishing industry, super trawlers, drag nets, etc..
It is definitely not the weekend recreational anglers that have done, or that will continue to do the damage..
If it wasn't for the recreational fishers' persistent protesting here in Tassie, there certainly would be a few dozen super trawlers on our coast line trawling right now..
My guess is that there would be a fair share of environmental do-gooders/ fun police that potentially order fish of the day when dining at their local restaurant, and that are too stupid to work out how it got on their plate 😂😅😂😅
Nice work, guys 👍
@@jb243wp right there with ya mate. Petitioning in Tasmania has saved the us from the commercial sector destroying recreational fishing. We stopped the super trawler, now we have bait and tuna in our backyards!
My best was 120.5 it was good and you shark was amazing can you do more comps like this one bc makes are my favreret fish so can you pls do moor content like this
You do know that’s a blue shark in the thumbnail?
Comments and doesn't watch video.
@@rianrex hahaha yup…
You’re right. I didn’t watch the video (not many have). I started too but within the first minute they were talking about “dangerous” makos whilst showing footage of a small blue shark. Chose not to watch at that stage 🤷🏼♂️
Absolutely mad, mate 👍🏼…. It’s always a great watch, Timb’o. How is everyone’s arms after wrestling those bad boys, lol….
99 kg
Well done guys , ignore the Debbie downers in the comments I’m sure you guys do more than your fare share of the right thing
Cheers from SA
Absolutely mate! Always thinking about our keep.
