- Fishing the continental shelf in my 7 metre boat for Blue Eye Trevalla. These fish sell for $89.00 per kilo in the market, and it's obvious why. They are delicious!
Learn how i use electric reels to target these fish all alone in 400-600m of water!

Good work shaggy nice work!
G’day, Timb’o. You’re on your own today, mate. You’ve caught a few nice fish, Tim, well done 👍🏼
Love this sort of stuff could watch it all day well done 👏
Oh sweet! Do you prefer it over the episode with the bigger camera gear? You prefer the vlogs?
No preferable it's all good local content 👌
What size Electric Reel outfits you running mate? It’s all new to me, would love to chase some blue eye! Cheers
With all these epic catches, I’m starting to wonder if your freezer is secretly a portal to another dimension! How do you fit it all? Awesome episode mate!
Haha thanks Andrew. It’s like that freezer/bar in seminyak. A freezer from the outside and a party in the back! 😂 hope you’re doing well!
Who's this fine fellow😉.
Watch out for pirates😂
😂😂😂😂
Blue Grenadier, such good eating!
It was delicious! Can’t believe it confused me so much when it came up. Similar looking to a gemfish I guess…
Production quality is top notch mate.
Thanks so much!
Do you keep the engine running to keep the power up for the electric reels?
what type of live bait is that guys?
With that many ribbon fish there it's a good chance swords are somewhere close by, as the ole ribbon fish is one of their favourites, I am back on the water so I will be heading out regularly again.
You’re not wrong. they can’t be far away!
The blue eye blew out its eye 😂😂
Blew eye 😂😂😂😂
When was this recorded mate, I was down at St Helen’s last week and the weather was horrible
Few weeks ago 🙌
Soooo when you go out what weather window do you look for, I’m guessing you are on the Northwestern coast, and how far is the shelf for you guys if you don’t mind , not that I’m going fishing in TAS
I’m at Robe SA it’s around 50k to the shelf here and at the moment we are getting 15/20 knot westerly winds midday and makes it uncomfortable
Anyhow I enjoyed the deep drop cheers
Hey mate! Thanks for tuning in. 25km to the shelf down here. I look for any swell under 1.5M and 8-9 second period. Wind under 10KTS ideally. If it starts firing up wind wise I usually get out. Plenty of slow sketchy crawls back to land from the shelf over the past few years. It’s not fun!
@@TascastFishing cheers for that basically the same here except it’s a longer way out, 25 kms is only 50m deep for us 40 kms around 70 to 100 then it starts to drop of ,good fishing generally between 22 and 40 kms if wasn’t for the &$#@/+* wind
Look forward to your next one cheers mate
Alvey like mine mate and jig for a blue eye. Can get 700 meters of 35 pound braid. Pe 5 rod to jig the 500 gram jig. Be a horrible winch up. Be worth it tho.
That’s impressive. Good idea running 35 pound too mate!!!
@@TascastFishing it handled that 6 kilo shark we got off the west coast. But that was 130 meters water. Not 400.
You have your rig on upside down lol. Mite work better the other way
@@aaronjennings7296 what rig are you talking about mate.
Jig sorry
Definitely a school shark
Not a very relaxing fishing experience with the noisy reels
I'll never understand those electric reels, you're not even fishing😂
Fair enough… I’ve done my fair share of winding up 500M manually. Doesn’t make sense to do that when you’re solo.
@@TascastFishing 500m? Fuck me
What’s the deepest you’ve fished? I thought the same but manualling 5/600m for green eyes is rough
@@mitchellholdsworth8582 I didn't know it was that deep,I never fished anywhere close to 500...and I probably won't ever😂
