After some quick research it looks like the closest launch would be Huletts Bay Marina. I launched there once to access the Narrow Island Group. It was quite expensive. You pay to launch, pay to park your vehicle, and also separately pay for trailer parking. It adds up! It really all depends on what kind of vessel you are using. If you have a very trustworthy boat that can handle some pretty legitimate weather, you should research launching from Rogers Rock Campground and making the run down. It doesn’t outright say they offer parking and launch for general island camping. When you book a Waltonian Island group site through their website, parking is included in the modest campsite fee. By far the most affordable option. Those islands are really nice too. Not too remote and the town of Hague has a public dock for running to town for food or the restaurant. If money is not a detractor, then Huletts was really nice. You can pull up to a dock and grab food, beer, local frozen meats from their store and also get fuel. I just seem to recall it being almost $200 to launch and park my truck and trailer for 3 days!
We started out from Rogers Rock, yes. And the island is Temple Knoll. If you have a trustworthy vessel, it’s much more affordable to leave from Rogers Rock Campground and travel south to the islands.
@@bwpartridge nice! Thats one of my favorite spots. I go to RR every year camping and rent a boat from the Marina for a day. I have been thinking about doing island camping out there!
@@moisesquesada642 oh you should for sure! The booking is done right through RR’s website. I’ve stayed in the further South Island groups and the outhouses were not well maintained. The temple knoll ones were very acceptable. I think the islands are called the waltonian group. You are very close to Hague which has a town dock you can rope to and walk to a store and restaurant. The further south islands are kinda party central. The further south ones also require launching from a private marina which costs $$$. I want to say it was $160 just to park my truck there for three days.
@@bwpartridge wow! thats NYC parking prices! Lol. Thanks for the tips though! Also, how long in advance did you book the island campsite? Ive been going there the past 5 years and can never get it booked!
Awesome video! I hope to go island camping at lake George this summer. Was looking at glen island area. Any tips? Best place to leave car and trailer?

My experience is that you have to reserve months in advance. We use to book as soon as the reservations opened in late winter.
