    I think a lot of folks are realizing the 10 ft. Yaks are plenty and have the advantage of easier to haul Looks like a grereat keyak. Love the drawer and the fwd rod holders.

    I have a 22 12.5 slayer max that I’m very happy with. At boat ramp I just slide it of the bed into the water. If launching from shore I use wilderness systems ballon tire cart. I bent the arms of the native side kick twice and struggled to slide them out of the cross bar. I also use a small atv winch to aid in recovery and to load on Thule bed rack. Enjoyed the video

    I am looking to add a Slayer 10 Max to my Kayak inventory. It has some nice features but some drawbacks as well. I really like having a shorter, lighter and more maneuverable kayak. The PA14 is a tank that tracks worse than any other kayak I have had, and it isn't even remotely maneuverable. I also prefer the instant reverse of the slayer over my PA14 pull cable reverse but the fixed length of the prop below the Slayer keeps you from navigating shallow water without switching to your paddle. The Hobie you can keep the fins close to the hull and still pedal as well as the kick back fin system. I will see how the slayer prop drive does in grass. Here in NW Florida all our lakes are choked with grass and the mirage drive performs exceptionally well. Overall, the Slayer 10 Max is a GREAT kayak, and you did well covering the attributes. Well done and I hope it serves you well. These things are not inexpensive.

    • @Michaelanthony209
      @Michaelanthony209  ปีที่แล้ว

      You know thats probably the worst thing about this kayak is the fixed position of the drive. It has done really well in grass for me in the California Delta, but you will have to pull up the drive in the shallows and to rip grass off from around the prop. It is pretty quick and easy to pull it up, but kind of a pain when you gotta do it 4 times in a couple hours. I would for sure watch more reviews and try and find people who have used it in grass choked areas. Thanks for your comment!

    I've been in a 2022 Slayer Max 10 for 2 years now. I had to pay 200 for the springblade rudder and 50 for the sinkable C-Tug wheels. Turning sucks with the stock rudder, or rudder in the up position with the springblade rudder. It also drifts stern first in the wind, which is usually not the direction I want to face more than half the time. I wouldn't put the rudder handle comfort at the top of my pros list either. I do like the design, stability, and durability, but I'm going to switch to a Hobie Lynx for portability. Currently trying to sell it at a $500 loss and can't move it in a popular kayak area.

    Great video...Great kayak set up. Wondering if you raised it onto the landing gear just for the video, or you store it permanently like that, when not fishing.
    I'm sure the screws on the mounts are strong, and I'm sure the material is also strong, but that's alot of weight, to constantly be on those mounting screws or bolts for days or weeks at a time.
    Great set up again.

  • @eyeofenigma2307

    I'm considering this one. But I was wondering if it is worth getting the 10ft or the 12.5ft version? I'm 6ft tall around 200lbs~
    I know the longer one is faster. But in regards to open water lakes, large lakes, maybe coast/ocean fishing, is the 10ft enough or much of a difference?
    I would prefer the 10ft, but I am unsure if it is reliable when waves begin to pick up.

    • @Michaelanthony209
      @Michaelanthony209  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m 5’6” 200lbs and the 10ft is surprisingly stable and great size for me. But I think I would go with the 12 if your gonna hit the ocean too. Definitely gonna be be more stable and comfortable on the waves and probably a little more leg room for you being taller. If you could possibly be able to sit inside of one or demo one at a shop, try and do that Forsure and see which fits best

    • @Michaelanthony209
      @Michaelanthony209  ปีที่แล้ว

      The actual wheel. They’re not inflated tires like the native sidekick, so it could make it a lil easier to launch and land the boat at the ramp. Inflated tires might want to float upward, making it just a bit harder to launch.
