My family owned a camp on Lake George for 113 years; it was the southern most house on the eastern shore of Tongue Mountain. When my great grandfather built the place on 1904 it included an island about ten feet from shore. He built a bridge to the island, and, over the years the winter ice crushed the little bridge and with the passage of time, trees ran their roots and now the island is a peninsula with its narrow connection to land formed of tree roots and rocks. There was another little nameless island about 30 feet south of that and he began building a bridge to that, too, but it was never completed. Because there is a natural rock ridge there it is very shallow and a rather treacherous place to attempt to boat through. South of that little island on our private bay is Mingoe Island - which my mother and sisters and I used to swim around. What a beautiful spot!

Brought me to tears! Beautifully composed! I've been summering on Lake George for 58 years.. My only child died there and his ashes will be interred in the lake he so dearly loved.

My family and I have spent many summer vacations on the lake. We grew up just an hour south of Lake George. With all the places we could have gone, we always chose Lake George. Once you visit the lake gets into your soul. Excellent video.

Having grown up on the lake, and other family members still do; I can say that this is an excellent piece of filming, editing and composition. I often watch this when feeling homesick. Thank you for the efforts to put this together; and more importantly, teaching through simple visuals, how important our environment is. thank you so much.

    - A very enjoyable video. I spent my childhood summers on my grandfather's island there on Lake George. I remember it as completely magical.

Nice video. I live here, but not owning a boat and not being rich, i had no idea there were so many islands in our lake. I don't do any touristy stuff, so never go out on the lake, and my disability prevents me from hiking. Wish they'd have made the captions appear a few seconds longer so I could read all of them. I read fast--my late mom was a librarian, but am no speed reader, haha.

A gorgeous testament to the lake.
They missed the last Island in Ticonderoga though. Small but important. Prisoner's Island.

I grew up going to Lake George camping on the islands and boating. Its sad to me that it has become so expensive that only those with the money to go can enjoy it.
