Thanks for detailed video. I have a 2015 a6 allroad, and found that the prosess on that one is a lot easier btw! You access both head lights from wheel arch, and there’s only a simple twist off plastic cover to remove to get to the bulb. Only one screw to loosen the plastic cover in the wheel arch. This model requires d5s. Cheers!
Thank you so much for this video! I was able to change my lamp exactly how you described, while the audi guys wanted to charge me 460€ to change just the lamp on the left side... Thank you!
Thank you, feel confident to change my A6's light bulbs now. Bought my two D3S bulbs from Halfords for £47.00 each Audi Doncaster Parts Dept. quoted me £223 each, I'm not joking. Audi Doncaster, to supply two replacement bulbs, fitting and lining/levelling, quoted me £672.00, I jest not!
It's advisable that you change both sides at the same to prevent colour and brightness difference's, and the process should be very similar if not easier
I changed my left side bulb i and it wont turn on i even tried a new bulb any idea whats going on also do i have to put the back cover on it for it to work
All I can suggest is double check everything is plugged in correctly all the way back to the bulb driver which is located on the outside of the headlight unit, other than that it could be an electrical fault with the driver if a new bulb doesn't work.
HI there is does look like it might be possible to replace the drivers side bulb without removing the air filter. Maybe a bit trickier but did you try that first and then decide you needed to remove the air filter??
Yes I've tried changing without removing the air box, but it's so difficult to do that over time I found it to be far easier and quicker to remove the air box, the main difficulty is removing and replacing the second screw and removing the cap.
@@RyansWorkshop thank you for that, I thought as much but wanted to check! any good ideas on where to buy a pair of the bulbs? Local stockist has them for about £50 each, will hunt around tomorrow but that seems to be the going rate for these l
Good guide, i would add as well to undo the other side of the intake pipe for ease of access and on model with air suspension you have to move small pressure tank to get to driver side xenon.
Thanks. Is it possible to swap out the bulb itself or do you need the bulb and fixture as one thing? A parts store entered my car info and only sold me a bulb not the entire block and bulb
This video was not a review based or comparison based video, it was an instruction based video on how to change them, the reason I made the video was because one of mine had failed and the other was old so probably wasn't giving optimal light output anyway, review videos are something I will potentially be doing in the future, plus obtaining video footage that shows the difference between bulbs is actually quite difficult as the camera simply doesn't show the difference like it does by eye.
I changed mine from cbi 5000k to cbn 6200k and for now there is no difference of color they are a bit yelowish, cbn is not that pure white or blueish :( but the brightnes is better!
Good gravy. This is complicated. I want to upgrade my soul to a better car but the better cars are difficult to fix yourself. I can replace the headlight, taillight, and air filter on my soul no problem. Looking at a 22 Santa Fe, and the dealer tells me I need to go to a dealer for a headlight change. Sheesh

Well there goes that idea. I definetly won't be changing my bulbs, haha, thanks dude you make it look easy. I still won't do it though

Thanks man. I'm trying to convert to led from hid and this definitely helped.
Happy I could help
Hello, does the Audi a6 c7 use the same xenon bulb for both the high beam and low beam? Like does it have one or two in each headlight.
Hi, yes it does use the same bulb, it simply moves a flap out of the way when you put high beam on, hope this helps
@@RyansWorkshop Yes, thank you that helps a lot, haven’t been able to find a clear answer to that anywhere.

hi there do you have a video on how to change a passenger's side Electronic Ballast for HDI Lamp XENON STANDERD
If only one side is out should I replace both sides?
Also I have a 2014 a6 with a 2.0 . Would it be the same process?

should i be worry about the high voltage
No, you will be fine if you're ignition and headlights are off
Thanks for the guide!
No problem 👍
For audi a6 c7 2013. Will feed?
If it has xenon gas headlights then yes 👍

You will need the whole fixture as this specific type of bulb has the starter unit inside the base which is all 1 unit
@@RyansWorkshop thanks. I ended up needing a new HID bulb
no before/after? really? I was wondering if I should install the whiter bulbs but can't find the possible outcome anywhere

@@RyansWorkshop there is still some kind of reference we could've gotten from the comparison, mainly just a photo of the lamp itself

So its just opening the bonet and 100 other steps.
Try the other side, you need to have size 1 hands, double jointed wrists and neck !!
Top!! 👌🔝
Thank you a lot 🙏🙌
