as a rosalina main, ive been switching between her and pauline lately and tbh i think she's super underrated, i always have such a fun time playing her lol
"Weight is useless because of lag" is a common superstition. This is due to 3 factors. 1. Bumps hit *harder* than the Weight stat would suggest during *any* form of boost. This includes Mini Turbo boosts. 2. When an opposing player boosts into you while you're *not* boosting yourself, they can shove you around if they have *-1.25* or more Weight relative to yours. A *+1.50* difference is required to resist a Mini Turbo boosted bump. 3. Said *+1.50* difference almost never comes into play (especially in a competitive setting), because builds with more Weight generally have less Mini Turbo, and the meta revolves around Mini Turbo. Because everyone is using the same build, or similar builds in a Weight range of 1.25 or less, Weight feels useless, or that it doesn't function correctly due to lag. This superstition is exacerbated by the fact that some people think that just by simply *using a heavyweight* character, they're automatically going to resist bumps... when in reality the most common heavyweight builds are usually running lightweight parts, and most likely Rollers. This puts them into range for a mediumweight, and possibly even a lightweight to shove them around.
After she came out I've been maining Pauline alongside Dry Bowser, she's honestly easier for me to play but that's because I play on 200cc and the combo I use is Blue Falcon with Blue tires which isn't that good since I'm not the best at 200cc but I don't want to change up my kart combo since I like the Blue Falcon
@bubbletoprelic9 before Yoshi became the meta he was who I used to main on the Wii U version and before wave 4. I immediately stopped when I saw that full lobbies started using him, and I stuck with dry bowser. Plus I love the design of the blue Falcon.
Main reason I will never play competitive is because they always pick the most GARBAGE boring maps. I do not understand playing the game just to play awful maps
@@ohreally69 Because they use tracks that rely on something that can help them out such as bagging tracks like excitebike or dry dry desert. Players just pick tracks for the strategy, aint nun wrong with just doing that. If a player does well if they bag for items then they'll go with tracks that have large shortcuts, if a player does well frontrunning then they'll pick a track that suits them well in the front and has little to no shortcuts. Hope that answers your question :)
Commenting this before I watch the video: the other day you were winning a lot with Waluigi wiggler. Rosalina/King Boo on pipe frame is literally just Waluigi wiggler but better in a couple areas, and Pauline has the same stats as those two, so SURELY, unless your races were incredibly cursed by bad item RNG, this should be fine. Edit after 3 races: welp
You're just one of the best Mario kart players by the fact you play as different characters and use sometimes different vehicles in competitive games unlike the most players who always use Yoshi teddybuggy which is pretty annoying. With your competitive Mario kart videos, you show every character is viable to compete against Yoshi teddybuggy. Keep going with it.
Pauline and Peachette are honestly proof to me that there needs to be more diversity in character stat distribution next game. Seeing characters with the same set of stats makes them feel like less distinct than they should with such a large roster. Pauline has the same stats as Rosalina and Link and Peachette has the same stats as Yoshi and Daisy, so already they have competition for their weight classes, and it’s made worse with them being relatively less popular in their weight classes to their peers. We already have diversity in the karts and it works okay but most builds end up playing very similar unless it is a sports bike. Imagine a character/kart combo which has extremely high speed and mini turbo, but you get bumped around a lot because of your low weight and your acceleration takes a big hit causing you to take a long time to get back up to speed, and the rest of the stats are just meh to decent. And on a different part of the spectrum, a character who has high handling and weight but low traction and speed so they can make turns immaculately but they would easily get passed if the opponents in a straight away section. Maybe a combo which has higher speed stats on all terrains and has decent traction but has a low mini turbo and handling so they don’t make turns as good as others. Just something to make each character have some uniqueness in how you play them while also having kart combos which can counteract their weaknesses if you don’t like how they play at their extremes.

They have the same stats, sooooo...
@@benhur2806 yeah, that's why i switch between them lol

Thanks, Nintendo servers.

This was the spammiest set of races I've seen in a while. No one ever held anything, just immediate throw whatever you have

In case you couldn't tell, I like Pauline's song in this game and in Mario Odyssey

At least you’re unique, and not just using yoshi teddy rollers

How many road to ruby videos begin with excitebike? Its almost insane how consistently it is the first race. Not usually any other lounge track.
Competitive players always chosee the same tracks...its annoying ngl
And they always choose the worst one ☠️🤦

The only bad thing of the pipe frame is it's anti-gravity speed and glider speed.
Why’d you bag on the first lap of Excitebike? Aren’t you unable to do that now with the update?
I love that she has two different outfits!

It's not just you getting slammed by lag, based on how random the placements ended up being the room itself was flat out garbage.
The design of Piranha Plant Cove on lap 2 lowkey reminds me of Temple Run
