Hey Artlist, I tested the feature yesterday and just want to give an honest review. The Quality was really good, but not outstanding compared to the competitors. Therefore the pricing should be more attractive. 400 letters to test this feature is just not enough. Getting good results with all these AI tools takes a lot of tweaking and testing. I was considering upgrading to Artlist Max but when I saw even there you have a cap, I decided to use other Text to Speech tools. The Voices you have available sound really good and convincing in their quality. The catalog of voices should be a little bit bigger. All in all, I'm happy that you added the feature but as long as there is a cap on a paid feature I won't consider using it.
Hey, so I just read they replied on another comment saying the limit of 50k renews monthly, which isn’t too bad I guess as it’s like an hours worth of voice over, every month. This changed my opinion once I saw that response from them & I think I may sub.

The fact that I can't check out the quality on the voice overs with personal text is just weird. And that I can not pay a monthly subscription is making this hard for many small producers.

I was interested in their AI Voiceover tool. Tried the sample and was impressed. So I subscribed to dive into a project. You have to pay for an entire year up front, that should've been a red flag. The AI returns the strangest reads where it mispronounces words, adds emphasis that makes no sense, and even completely missed words. They are happy to provide a bunch of work arounds, but you'll never get a refund. Buyer beware. The AI VO tool is NOT ready for market. You'll be throwing your money away.

Tested with 1 short audio clip and that immediately used up the 'free' credits (400 credits). It appears if I 'UPGRADE' to one of the newer plans I'll receive; "50,000 credits". I have no way to determine how quickly I'll use up these 50K credits. It would make more sense to have s flat yearly subscription for the 'AI Voiceover' feature. Without it I could easily go over 50K credits and within a short period of time have to purchase another 50K of credits. Wanted to DEMO and make a video on this new feature but I can't do that because I have no idea how quickly I would use up all 50K credits. Again, used up 400 credits on testing 1 voice and that was only a few lines.
We hear you. To give you an idea, 50,000 credits is worth roughly an hour's worth of content. And, the credit amount renews monthly :) So rather than having to work with a set amount for the year, you have it for the whole month!

Will you ever bring a monthly subscription instead of just the yearly plan? I’m looking to start building up a faceless channel but I would love to have a monthly option before I fully invest in the yearly one as being in the creative space my subscriptions are starting to pile up so I’d love for an alternative payment method!
I'm using Artlist for a Mockumentary I'm currently making and I have to say it is excellent, the array and quality of music available alone is outstanding. I'd recommend highly.
The fact you have to use your credits just to generate VO and not to simply download them desperately needs looking at in my opinion. The VO generation is too unpredictable to guarantee the results you’re looking for.
Great feature and great results but the credit system is really limiting - if a preview feature is integrated without having to use credits to test voices then this will be perfect. Nice job but not quite there yet!
previews are on the wa you say, when does it come? I wont buy anything before its out. And to answer my question, when its out- is it correct that i can listen to my text, make changes to the s cript, and when i am happy with the result I can use credits and THEN download it? like, then i can play arround not using credits before i download it?

It requires some research and development, so launching might take a little time. And you're absolutely right, yes, the preview will let you generate and listen to your voiceover before downloading it, without using any credits.
Just to make sure, are you asking if you can adjust the voices in settings to sound like various people? Because we have many voices you can choose from!
so...I go to download my voiceover and it ask to upgrade in order to download. Fair. I upgrade to a plan and then get told I have to upgrade AGAIN to get AI Voiceover!! To a plan that is $400!!! That's absurd. Be CLEAR about what plans offer voiceover and what doesn't. Also for someone who needs one voiceover im not paying $400. It's not even unlimited!

I then try to get a refund because I wouldn’t have paid for basic if I knew I was going to be told to upgrade AGAIN. Still no customer service has reached out about the refund. On top of that, even if I did upgrade to your ridiculously priced AI, there’s STILL a credit cap?! You pretty much guaranteed I’ll never be a customer. For anything. Fix your slimy pricing model.

Do I understand correctly: if the 'preview' function is here, can I enter my script and generate the text without paying the credits, and if I am satisfied, correct some mistakes, and then download the voice-over, THEN I pay? Or are there limitations to the preview (max number of characters, et cetera)?
You'll need either the AI Voiceover plan or the Max plan to download any voice generations you create. The preview only lets you listen to them directly on the website

Ah OK perhaps we misunderstood. To clarify in general, to use the feature, you need to be either on the trial version which allows you to use 400 credits or either the voiceover plan or the Max plan. With those plans, you have access to 50,000 credits per month. You can't pay by use. However, previews are coming soon! Meaning that you'll be able to preview the generation before creating it and using credits. Does that answer your question? :)

I am not trying to be facetious, but I'm wondering why you guys use actual humans to make this video. I mean, if the point is to showcase how easy and human-like it can be, wouldn't it make sense to have made this video with an AI voice? I am trying to get into voice acting, so I am biased toward this premise. But even I'm wondering why not just use the AI voice-over for the whole video so it could be an excellent example of how the product you're selling could be presented.
Great question! Embracing innovation and bringing in an AI voiceover tool doesn't mean we're sidelining human talent. That's not what we're about. We believe AI voiceover can and should coexist with creators, offering more creative options. Using only AI voiceover in your video is also an artistic choice, and ours this time was to have Josh, one of our favorite creators, present the feature himself.

I made a video on my channel called "AI Generation + Human Creativity = Unique Video Creation // You Have to Try This!" - I took a bunch of stock footage from Artlist, and used the AI voice generator (script from chat GPT) and made a really cool 1 minute video with an actual story. The fact that Artlist provides so many resources in one platform is crazy and for now am super happy with my subscription. Mark my words: Soon I will be promoting Artlist on my channel as the new partner/sponsor of the channel!
The quality sounds Rad. But hear me out please - without listening to how 'my text' is going to sound on these voices, its difficult to ascertain what voice to go for. Other AI tools like EVOTO for instance, would use up my credits when I export stuff and not when I'm visualizing if it works for that particular image. I understand I can check out the examples, but sometimes as creators we ourselves do not know how each voice will sound. This makes it all the more difficult to justify the subscription fee.

Introducing a monthly subscription will really put you up there. - Your voices are high qaulity - You have a good UI - Its simple to use Your competitors all have monthly subscriptions & its clearly working. If you just roll out a monthly AI voice subscription, So many more people would invest into your service including me.
I actually liked the tool, but 400 credits is too little for testing. And the price to get 50k credit is insane. Think about adding a subscription just for voiceover and for it to be unlimited. Maybe I would consider paying for the product if there is a reformulation of the charge for this option.

I've been trying to fix a spelling mistake I made but no chance. 😏. I love everything else, but then that 1 tiny extra letter that doesn't belong means I have to use up more credits just to fix it?

The voiceover is great, you save a ton of money with the subscription, but that "preview" before downloading and paying with credits must come live faster. Generating until you hit the right rithm, right pitch and losing credit everytime even though you didn t download that voice is not so great... Anyway keep it up!
WARNING. Don´t buy it before the previews is ready. I used up a lot of credit on the verry first text just to make it as expected. This is 10 steps back, and i tried to ask Artlist several times when the preview is ready, and its insane that I have to use 10 x credits just to get it right. And you dont get a wav file, just a lov kbs mp3 file.
My voice overs sound horrible. I am not sure what happened. They use to sound like a real person, now there are so many issues. Please help me out! No spelling issues, english, etc.. Worked great before.

i had my few little credits to test it and i wasted it with random test bla bla, not knowing that i would not take them back and use it properly for something nice ....yearly subscription way to expensive for only 50,000 credits per month...no thanks... hope you will revisit your offer !
Hey, to download voiceovers, you'll need a subscription. You can pick between the Voiceover plan or the Max Pro plan, which gives you access to all types of assets. 50,000 credits get you about an hour of voiceover, which is pretty standard in the industry. We're always taking notes though!

For everyone wanting to subscribe to their ai voice, they completely ruined it with the recent update. The voices you hear in these videos where it sounds natural. Its completely gone the voices have changed so you cant match it from the previous version on current projects and it sounds too robotic on top of that. They also changed the setting controls. You're now limited to a very restrictive 5 emotions instead of a graduating expression slider. Waste of money. What made their AI voice unique and different from the competition has completely vanished. This is not what I paid for. I would hold of at least 3-4 years to even consider subscribing to this, the way they've been handling this feature since it's launch. 1/5 ⭐

I made a video on my channel called "AI Generation + Human Creativity = Unique Video Creation // You Have to Try This!" - I took a bunch of stock footage from Artlist, and used the AI voice generator (script from chat GPT) and made a really cool 1 minute video with an actual story. The fact that Artlist provides so many resources in one platform is crazy and for now am super happy with my subscription. Mark my words: Soon I will be promoting Artlist on my channel as the new partner/sponsor of the channel!

As of right now, we're only available in English. We can't say about what other languages might be added just yet, or if at all but hopefully!

The quality sounds Rad. But hear me out please - without listening to how 'my text' is going to sound on these voices, its difficult to ascertain what voice to go for. Other AI tools like EVOTO for instance, would use up my credits when I export stuff and not when I'm visualizing if it works for that particular image. I understand I can check out the examples, but sometimes as creators we ourselves do not know how each voice will sound. This makes it all the more difficult to justify the subscription fee.

I actually liked the tool, but 400 credits is too little for testing. And the price to get 50k credit is insane. Think about adding a subscription just for voiceover and for it to be unlimited. Maybe I would consider paying for the product if there is a reformulation of the charge for this option.

I've been trying to fix a spelling mistake I made but no chance. 😏. I love everything else, but then that 1 tiny extra letter that doesn't belong means I have to use up more credits just to fix it?

You get a total of 50K credits per month
The voiceover is great, you save a ton of money with the subscription, but that "preview" before downloading and paying with credits must come live faster.
Generating until you hit the right rithm, right pitch and losing credit everytime even though you didn t download that voice is not so great...

WARNING. Don´t buy it before the previews is ready. I used up a lot of credit on the verry first text just to make it as expected. This is 10 steps back, and i tried to ask Artlist several times when the preview is ready, and its insane that I have to use 10 x credits just to get it right. And you dont get a wav file, just a lov kbs mp3 file.

My voice overs sound horrible. I am not sure what happened. They use to sound like a real person, now there are so many issues. Please help me out! No spelling issues, english, etc.. Worked great before.
We made changes to some of the voices in the catalog based on their performance and user feedback. This is why some voices may sound a little different.
We recommend using short sentences to get the best results.

i had my few little credits to test it and i wasted it with random test bla bla, not knowing that i would not take them back and use it properly for something nice ....yearly subscription way to expensive for only 50,000 credits per month...no thanks... hope you will revisit your offer !
Hey, to download voiceovers, you'll need a subscription. You can pick between the Voiceover plan or the Max Pro plan, which gives you access to all types of assets. 50,000 credits get you about an hour of voiceover, which is pretty standard in the industry. We're always taking notes though!

For everyone wanting to subscribe to their ai voice, they completely ruined it with the recent update. The voices you hear in these videos where it sounds natural. Its completely gone the voices have changed so you cant match it from the previous version on current projects and it sounds too robotic on top of that. They also changed the setting controls. You're now limited to a very restrictive 5 emotions instead of a graduating expression slider. Waste of money. What made their AI voice unique and different from the competition has completely vanished. This is not what I paid for. I would hold of at least 3-4 years to even consider subscribing to this, the way they've been handling this feature since it's launch. 1/5 ⭐

We'd love to answer your question but aren't quite sure what you're asking :) If you're referring to the voiceover, then you get 50, 000 credits which equals to about an hour worth of sound and renews monthly! Does that answer your question?

Unfortunately it cost money and electricity to make these voiceovers. Hopefully it gets cheaper in the future
