It is absolutely NOT worth it. I'm in the middle of a project and even subscribed twice just to get more credits and what do they do? They remove the voice that I use. In the middle of a project and their response when I contacted them was because of performance so that tells me they will remove any vo that is under performing without notice. This feature hasn't even been out past a year and they're already removing features people are paying for. If anyone is thinking of subscribing to their AI VO, just don't. It's a waste of money if this is how they operate.
So am I! And if you confront Artlist about it on Facebook, all you get is a message telling you to contact support and that the voices don't match the update and don't work there. What a pity - should they have waited with the update? Luckily I haven't paid anything extra for it yet and I'm not going to at the moment!

I can't get any of my previous tracks to match. DO NOT USE the VO service until they make it less awful. Support gave a "sorry not sorry" 20000 VO credits, all of which I used trying in vein to regenerate over and over the same lines trying to get them to match. All the voices are monotone and sound verry synthesised. When they first launched it the voices had character and life... How to ruin a good thing!
@danielosgerby181 yes they did the same B.S with me and xhange the Voiceover settings, now voiceovers will not sound the same as previously generated ones and even more worse now. They only gave 20,000 credits and say i should keep generating until i get the results i want. Thats just dumb they just keep changing things that people paid for in the first place!
@@aadin 11labs (their Ai synth not the standard voices) is the only viable alternative at the moment but that means paying again... I've gone back to using live artists, more expensive but at least it's consistent for clients.
Paul, Excellent presentation and thoughtful planning in providing this review with great examples. There's no information on the Artlist website for an overview of the Voiceover program, unless I sign-up first. Do you know if there are any character/word limits with this yearly subscription? Also, does the program offer other languages for translations? Thanks for your help. - Matt

Its pretty good but very very buggy. sometimes it will missed the words on what you just typed but if type it again with exact same everything it will say it right so hit or miss. you can forget about reaching out to tech support they dont exist. tried to contact twice and no response at all
It's great but very limiting. You only get 50,000 credits and there's no option to buy more so you're screwed until next month when it re-ups your credit unless you subscribe on another account
@@obryn I guess Artlist doesn’t want their voices to be used in meaningless faceless TH-cam videos, hence the “limited” credits. However, I agree and believe having the option to buy some extra credits would absolutely help ;)

how come i dont see the Voice setting sliders? i see 3 options on the bottom instead? Accent, Speed, Emotion thats it, but it just options with no sliders for fine tuning adjustments?
You can’t do tests. I usually do a short sentence until I’m happy with the result. Once I’ve found the voice/style, I generate one sentence at a time. Like this I don’t burn through the credits and if there’s a word or sentence im not happy with, I don’t have to generate a whole paragraph. Hope this helps! :)
In the meantime, Artlist has implemented an "update" for the service: Originally, only "English" was listed as a supported language. But it also worked almost perfectly with other languages. Even individual words in other languages (e.g. English words in an otherwise German text) were almost always spoken correctly and fluently. Artlist now has several languages listed - including German. A mix of languages as described above now leads to linguistic garbage in each of the voices! In addition, the languages that were somewhat outside the youth influencer mainstream have now completely disappeared or have nothing to do with the original vocally. This means that projects in German with Artlist are currently absolutely impossible and the voice quality in German is also very similar to Apple's current non-AI Siri! The newly added switches for emotions and speed are also unusable because they do everything with the voice, except what it says on the tin.
and consumers have new opportunities. lol I never paid for a VO artist because they're expensive but with AIVO, it's much more affordable. voice actors would have never gotten my money in the first place even without AI because they're too expensive. I would have done it myself. lol

If you have to make changes to your text because it doesn’t sound right (adding a comma or a period to change the way your ai actor sounds for example), does it take away from your credits or do you only use credits after you finalize? It would suck to lose credits while you tweak the project. Can anybody shed light on this?

I’m incredibly frustrated. They just rolled out an update, and everything is a complete mess. The voice I was using, Wit, now sounds completely different and unnatural after the update. I was in the middle of a project, but I’ve had to stop because the voice is no longer consistent. Even the other voices have been downgraded, sounding like the robotic AI voices from two years ago. What’s going on with the team behind this update? I’m seriously considering requesting a refund and switching back to other platforms.
Cant stand it. Use your own god given voice or pay a real voice actor. All these channels popping up with AI voiceovers all sound the same, just spewing out endless generated sentences with no meaning or real substance.

You can’t do tests. I usually do a short sentence until I’m happy with the result. Once I’ve found the voice/style, I generate one sentence at a time.
