I’m Finnish and am happy we’re so few. The people of Tallinn definitely hate our booze tourists, but even with half our retiree population fleeing to Fuengirola we don’t have the numbers to completely ruin the place.
I dunno, I have have friends in Tallinn who very seriously led me and my group of fellow Swedes into bars which you could only enter from the inner yards under the very serious and strict condition that we don't tell the Finns where they were. I'm pretty sure the opposite would be true in Copenhagen though.
@@danvernier198 I mean yes, that was my point lol. But Tallinn is a relatively big (and definitely lovely) city, we don’t have the numbers to entirely wreck the place like Brits in Spanish towns can.
You just unlocked a golden childhood memory. I actually had a incredible family trip to altea when I was a child, I still have a cartoon that a man on the street drew of me. Good to see it's still lovely and hasnt been destroyed by disrespectful tourists
Mate, was the same with Magaluf. Nicknamed "Shagaluff", supposed to be teaming with slags everywhere. When I went, it was a sausage fest, barely any birds in sight.
I’ve lived in Benidorm for 5 years on and off and I absolutely love it. Beautiful areas, amazing food and real Spanish culture (in some parts). Unfortunately, the brits lose all intuition when they get off the plane at Alicante. The drinks measures are a lot bigger than we are used to in the UK. But if you know where to go, Benidorm and the surrounding towns are absolutely stunning.
I went to school in Spain for a couple of years in a town not too far away from here. My teacher told me if you look at the mountain that lines Benidorm there is a huge chunk out of it and that's from when "giants" walked the earth they had a fight and one kicked the bit of rock off the mountain and it landed in the sea ! You can see the island I mean @4:10 ! A fun little story even if its not true its fun how the gap in the mountain lines up perfectly with the island in the sea !
Its interesting because in the Netherlands Benidorm is mostly known for old people spending their winters there, youth picks different destinations in the Mediterreanen (Ibiza, Albufeira, Lloret de Mar, Rimini, Chersonisos, etc)
Albufeira? Seriously? I went there once for a few hours. Its a cheap tourist S hole with tacky establishments and cold af water. I'm in Chania Crete rn to live. Way classier but still party vibes around
I live in Florida(USA) and I didn’t know other people across the world had snowbirds to. We also have old people from cold places who spend their winter here.
@@skygge1006 For lower class retired people in the UK, its cheaper to stay for 8-12 weeks in Benidorm often with all meals included at hotels than it is to pay for gas/electricity/food back in England. Benidorm hotels make their money "in season" during the summer, and then stay open during the winter at low rates and focus on older people. I can see prices from £1000 ($1200) for a couple staying in a hotel room for the WHOLE of December that includes breakfast and dinner. The hotels are mid level and look fairly nice. They will often provide bingo, or singers etc doing music from the 60/70! Most people from Northern England will know someone (an uncle, neighbour etc) who does this.
benidorm is such a lovely city, i lived there for years.. but the tourists are ruining it.. they came with the stupid idea that "what happens in benidorm stays in benidorm" they're destroying everything they come across.
I lived in Benidorm for many years, it is a lovely small place. With beautiful old buildings and churches and a beautiful seaside. It is very popular for people on a holiday.Benidorm is not hated at all. Before Brexit, there were a lot of partying Brits in Benidorm. Some of them misbehaved. So they were not so popular at the time. But the city was still beautiful and a very nice place to be. I visited Benidorm after Brexit as well, and it is still the nice city I know. I do not live there anymore, but I still visit this lovely place. There are still British tourists, but they behave. And there are British people, who live in Benidorm. Mostly elderly people, who enjoy their pension. When you make a video, you should know your facts. Benidorm was never the most hated city in Europe. On the contrary, it is still a very popular holiday destination. People from all over Europe love to visit Benidorm.
You missed the coolest place, why I visit "Benidorm" every year. From the Cross, look north, you see a hill. Climb to the hill and you have the coolest 400m straight drop and view to the sea. I do avoid the city though.
I'm 60 so not exactly a wild clubber and have been to Benidorm three times in just over a year. Had a brilliant time with great weather even in winter. Plenty of great bars with tribute acts and plenty great restaurants with cheap meals and drinks. Benidorm is a beautiful place with two great beaches and you can have a fast or slow holiday depending on your choice. The strip is a bit mental at night with young people doing most things to extreme but if that's not your thing its easy to avoid. I'll definitely be back with my wife who also loves it.
I am here now. There are quite allot of britts here. They are using alot of space but they are kindly and that is great😊 I am also a tuorist and are here for the first time. Its a nice city. Very cheap and hot.
@@kannyvalley9176 you could but If you want some where nice, fun and cheap . Benidorm is perfect for that . If you just look at the negatives you wouldn’t go anywhere
The problem isn't the city it's the brits. For the past 5 years i've been picking my holiday destinations based on how many brits I should expect there. I usually go to Alicante where there's pretty much no brits and it's perfect.
You’re not the only one who does that! I was seeking a holiday for my mum and I back in April, she suggested Benidorm & I shut that down immediately because I’ve heard there’s so many Brits there. This video proves I made the right choice!
I went to Ibiza and Magaluf in my younger years, fun at the time but would never go back to these kind of locations, would much rather a chilled holiday with the misus exploring the culture, architecture and history of a city. Each to their own I guess
Yhea, the sad part is that Spain is known for that kind of tourism (drunk people, parties and beaches), but we also have beautiful architecture, history, gastronomy... Just like Italy of France. I am from Galicia, here we have the Camino de Santiago, beautiful coast villages, green landscapes, different architecture from the south... We even have our regional language. So Spain os really diverse, from North to South, and from East to West (Galicia and Cataluña are quite different even if both are in the north).
We Americans have an equivalent city called Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. There are other such locations on Caribbean Islands, but it depends on where you live in the US. I’ve avoided Puerto Vallarta for the very reasons you discussed here. Of course we have the ultimate world party town called Las Vegas, with visitors from every corner of the globe, because they have nothing equivalent. It’s becoming more and more expensive and not as attractive as it once was for budget travelers. Thanks for the interesting video.

I was in Benidorm back in '92 and had a great time. I met Tony Iommi at his manager's bar. I was in the US Navy and we were on shore leave so I'm sure we didn't really help this situation other than not being British.
I have been to Benidorm for the first time just 2 weeks ago. I actually was impressed how such a small city feels grand and cosy at the same time. They really managed to make this place awesome for day and night. If you don't want the craziness, you don't have to go to those areas.

I lived in the thick of it for one year back in 98-99 …. It’s grown a lot since then, but all the big bars were there and even the big clubs like Pacha, KM, Space etc… crazy place.
Its nice between late November to April with fewer "stereotypical Brit holiday makers" there, especially Monday to Thursday when all the stag parties have gone. Altea and Guadalest are beautiful and still very Spanish. Go inland a few miles, and see proper Spain
Lots of Americans used to go there but that's when we had more military bases in Spain, there were more Brits though. We had our summer family vacations there, camped on the beach in tents. We did Stiges when we lived in Germany, Benidorm when were were stationed in Spain.

I’m Finnish and am happy we’re so few. The people of Tallinn definitely hate our booze tourists, but even with half our retiree population fleeing to Fuengirola we don’t have the numbers to completely ruin the place.
It was much worse in the 90s and 00s, now it's civil, I'd say.
Weird, cuz statistically Estonians drink much more.
You guys must be very welcoming……..you guys hate your tourists
Worst City in Europe is located in the UK and it's Grimsby... thats a dump!
GRIM by name and GRIM by nature, the absolutely Pits of the world
Its name is your guarantee.
You have not been to Clacton or jaywick
Some people might nitpick and not count the UK as "European continent"
Not only Grimsby. A lot of English cities have turned into complete crap.
11:33 "The Birds"
I didn't see one young woman in Benidorm throughout this whole video
Mate, was the same with Magaluf. Nicknamed "Shagaluff", supposed to be teaming with slags everywhere. When I went, it was a sausage fest, barely any birds in sight.
Jay from the Inbetweeners reborn.
@@dotheyfloat9961facts 😂 the term shagaluff shouldn’t be used no more it hasn’t been that for over 5 years at least now
Milfs my friend
There was a girl with a white lacy top!
If you find a bottle of champagne buried on the beach - it’s mine, from 25 years ago.
i got a cut walking barefoot on the beach, so it was your bloody bottle...
@@coscorrodriftdang bruh
Wow you left your garbage behind. Lol, so british actually
Good memories ha? Why don’t you keep your youth parties to yourself? Enjoy British beaches and get drunk there, it’s closer!
I live in Benidorm and if you don’t go to the English part where they only drink it’s very good
Its interesting because in the Netherlands Benidorm is mostly known for old people spending their winters there, youth picks different destinations in the Mediterreanen (Ibiza, Albufeira, Lloret de Mar, Rimini, Chersonisos, etc)
also true lol
Albufeira is not Mediterranean
Albufeira?
I was planning to go up to the cross but got recommended to go the other way!! Beautiful in the national park
@@benmorris that's cool too but if you ever go again gotta check the cross and the hill.
“First time abroad” I’m so happy for him
I always knew that i will never go to benidorm but that video just assured me 😂😂
Same😂😂
Loving these documentary style vids, always informative and balanced
I'm 60 so not exactly a wild clubber and have been to Benidorm three times in just over a year. Had a brilliant time with great weather even in winter. Plenty of great bars with tribute acts and plenty great restaurants with cheap meals and drinks. Benidorm is a beautiful place with two great beaches and you can have a fast or slow holiday depending on your choice. The strip is a bit mental at night with young people doing most things to extreme but if that's not your thing its easy to avoid. I'll definitely be back with my wife who also loves it.
I never understood the drunk method of having a good time and humiliate myself like these clowns do.
I quite agree with you. It’s also dependent on your age and level of maturity. It seems to infect the college aged demographic the most.
what do you expect from the Brits?
@@andrecardoso6941I’m gonna guess you’re American?😅😂
Ah yes the most hated City in Europe, usually by people who've never been there
I am here now. There are quite allot of britts here. They are using alot of space but they are kindly and that is great😊 I am also a tuorist and are here for the first time. Its a nice city. Very cheap and hot.
what a shithole...my idea of hell . i was once offered a free trip here with work and turned it down lol
You don’t have to party with the rough lads . It’s a nice place just keep yourself to yourself
You can just not go to sports bars and clubs and maybe find a hotel or restaurant to dine out
@@WoodyWanderer or you could go literally anywhere else
@@kannyvalley9176 you could but If you want some where nice, fun and cheap . Benidorm is perfect for that . All depends what you want from a holiday if you want something spectacular and no drunks you’re going to be paying thousands tbh .
Everywhere has its pros and cons. If you just look at the negatives you wouldn’t go anywhere
Alicante City where you fly into is really nice and not full of drunk idiots.
Good 😂😂
@@andrecardoso6941 I’m not from the Uk but I do this based on Americans bc their usually super loud and obnoxious and it’s so irritating
It’s like a Brit council estate on the Spanish coast. Couldn’t pay me to ever go there again, had the misfortune of having to travel through it once.
Good for you for exploring and showing a more balanced view. Somewhere else in Spain you might like is Valencia.
Valencia is for Europhiles.
Benidorm is for Brexitards.
1:44 Those people singing "chiquitita" by abba in spanish ... I love them
We Americans have an equivalent city called Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
We also have Florida!!!

Also Santa Pola another lovely marina town.. thanks for the content.

Parts of it look nice. It reminds me a bit of Thailand... I hate partying now so you just avoid certain areas at night and it's fine
Agreed
I was in Benidorm back in '92 and had a great time. I met Tony Iommi at his manager's bar. I was in the US Navy and we were on shore leave so I'm sure we didn't really help this situation other than not being British.
lived near alicante for 10 years, alicante is wonderful, crazy how different benidorm is only 30 min away.
I have been to Benidorm for the first time just 2 weeks ago. I actually was impressed how such a small city feels grand and cosy at the same time. They really managed to make this place awesome for day and night. If you don't want the craziness, you don't have to go to those areas.
Old town and local beach shore is cool, the "guiris" beach side is terrible, full of drunk foreigners since 10 am
Nothing wrong with Benidorm it’s like going London with chances of getting mugged so it’s like everywhere be careful and safe no where’s perfect
😂😂And Brits going on holiday don't lose one minute: « Shock moment brawl erupts on Ryanair flight from Bristol to Tenerife leaving female passenger with a bloody nose (29 Nov 2023)» « Ryanair in emergency landing after mass brawl breaks out onboard flight from UK to Canary Islands (19 jan 2024)» « Chaos on Ryanair flight from Edinburgh to Tenerife as men and woman brawl in front of passengers (21 feb 2024) »
So Ryanair is basically Europe's Southwest Airlines, is what you're saying.
@@andyjay729 Ryanair has a very poor reputation simply as an airline, never mind some of its passengers!
How boring is Europe, where you have all this documented. This is like one weekend on 6th st in Austin Texas. On crazy days, one Saturday night can surpass it.
5:34 you CAN totally film the police in Spain, as long as its not with their families or threats their families in anyway, so loudly job here from the officers that identified you with no reason at all.

North American here! I've been to Benidorm a few times in the last 30 years, and it's the bomb!!!! Its nice between late November to April with fewer "stereotypical Brit holiday makers" there, especially Monday to Thursday when all the stag parties have gone.
Altea and Guadalest are beautiful and still very Spanish.
