Hi friends :) we’ve already called Mikhail a few times since we left! He even found someone who could FaceTime us because he wanted to see our faces. The man truly is a problem solver! On a personal note, I was scared to take on so much travel without Ammar as he’s working on our big Iceman of Antarctica documentary, so I’m really grateful for all the amazing support I’ve felt behind all of these recent stories whether through watching, commenting, liking the videos or going as far as repping Seek Discomfort clothing, it is all appreciated. Much love to you all and see you in September once we’re back from break!! 💕

Mikhail is the most wholesome grandpa on the planet. I legitimately teared up when he said goodbye. You can tell he’s always wanted to raise some grandkids! Bless him!
Maybe that's why grandpa mikhail is like that because he wasn't able to take care of his grandchildren and treat them like his own because of the car accident 🥲
Mikhail literally made the whole trip wholesome! Maybe he needed that small fun and just talk with people and have a nice time, thanks to you guys for making his life a tiny bit better. In my view I think he did the things he would've wanted to do with his grandkids and his family, bless that man.

You guys made him so happy. He probably hasn’t spent that much time with people since his family passed away. That’s what made me so emotional at the end. You are really changing peoples lives and should be so proud of that. Thank you for showing us the real people and communities in these countries we really know nothing about 🖤
"call me before leaving, so I know that everything is fine." One of the sweetest thing you wanna hear from a parents or any elders when you're leaving. We love you Mikhail
If I'm honest, when you met Mikhail, he initially felt like the local crazy guy who you probably just wanted to leave. This video shows that behind first impressions we are all human with our own stories to tell. Never judge a book as they say.
Ahagah, as I local, I can add, that locals try to avoid such persons if they dont have time, if they are in a rush. This happened to me couple of times. However, then there is no rush, people just stop and talk :)
I'm so excited about this video! I will remember this trip for the rest of my life. I now have a new grandpa in Moldova and hope Mikhail inspires all of you to live a more spontaneous and free life. Cheers to Mikhail, our crazy Moldovan Grandpa.
Yo Eric i just wanted to say you rock! Translating all that must be a real hassle, but you did all that with a smile. Hope to see you more on upcoming episodes 'cause you fit perfectly.
Belarus born RussianPolish girl living in Philly here- you're a big part of my enjoyment of these videos. Hearing you speak is making me want to speak more of my native tongue lol but also your approach and the cultural translation you provide for anyone who might not have had any exposure to many European cultural differences is bridging gaps in understanding, big time 🙌 sometimes what's said and what's meant is different and you translate such a great image of everyone you interact with and it just means so much culturally so thank you 🙏 keep up the great work
GUYS!! You cannot lose touch with Grandpa!!! I’m fighting the tears. This is one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen!! I would totally let him live in the in-law suite I had for my parents that have passed on.
I'm a 60 year old man living in Stockholm, alone, but with a lot of friends to whom I can reach out. The way you guys connected with Mikhael was so honest and genuine, from both sides. You young people are changing our world and bringing love back to places where it is missed so much. Thank you for seeking discomfort and leaving love where you go. I love you all!
I cried for Mikhail😢 he is so precious and I cannot imagine pain he went through. I will definitely find him when I travel to Moldova. Love you little man🫡
Mikhail is a perfect example. There are so many old people like him who have suffered massive losses, are lonely and are struggling. Old people can be hard to talk to sometimes, but they are often humans in need. Be like these guys here, connect with them, talk to them, you might just make their day! Respect your elders.
@@jessieplexer It fills me with contempt that the powers that be treat the elderly with such disdain. The vast majority of the elderly have worked and paid taxes their entire working life and thus funded the building of the country. let's face it, the government doesn't have a sausage stand out the back generating funds, it's OUR money and I recon the elderly should be well looked after by the state. I'm in New Zealand and we are behind Ukraine 100% ... (personally, I think countries and the politics surrounding them are nothing more than man-made fiction. The fact that even one perfectly healthy person should be killed to defend or maintain them defeats the whole purpose of government in the first place. I wish you well (and if anyone needs a room I have a spare one if they can get all the way over here I'm happy for them to use it)
As a Moldavian myself I always say that people is the most precious treasure in Moldova. Did you realize that he saw his child, nephews in you, guys? I am sad to think how he will be looking for you to the end of his life… Keep in touch - don’t forget your grandpa.
Moldova has been on my travel list for quite a while. I've mostly gotten familiarized with it through Eurovision. One thing I have gathered, an obviously it's no mistake, is that no matter how low budget everything is, Moldovan people always shine through with their charisma, passion and zest for life. All the luxury in the world cannot replace that feeling of belonging and being a accepted as a part of the community. I have, through years, formed a deep respect for Moldovans. This is why I can't wait to visit. Lots of hugs from Serbia xx
True!! They just made this man's entire life!! He will never forget them and now they will become one of his main stories that he tells others about! This video was so stinkin' cute, I watched it two times!
I literally cried watching Mikhail standing behind the line watching you guys leave. I hope he goes on many more adventures with kind people like you guys.
This was literally one of THE BEST travel videos I've seen....and I would not have expected it before starting! The countries that at first sight do not have "that much to offer" turn out to be the ones where you get THE BEST experience thanks to the people! Mikhail is a star!
Happy to have met the coolest Grandpa ever! Mikhail is one of the most protective, caring, and authentic people I ever met!! Keep spreading love Yes Fam, and thanks for letting me join this adventure which I will always remember! ❤
Did anyone notice how good of a communicator Eric is? He literally bridges the gap between generations perfectly without coming off as childish or making the other person feel out of place. That's fantastic! The transnistria video was an example but this video is PROOF! Eric needs to be on here more often. Love his energy!
Well said! I am also here to learn how to invest after listening to a lady on tv talk about the importance of investing and how she made 7 figure in 3 month, somehow the video taught me nothing and left me even more confused, I'm a newbie and I'm open to ideas on how to invest for retirement

Perhaps after losing all his family in an instant of time Mikhail has learnt to live in the moment. What an incredable man and a great example to us all.
I just can’t stop thinking about grandpa and I truly wish you could see him again. Watching the video you can see how alone he was until you guys. I have tears and now I just want to know more of his story. ❤❤❤❤
Hey! Did you know God is three in one!? The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit! Bless him! Jesus died for our sins, rose from the dead, and gives salvation to everyone who has faith in him! True faith in Jesus will have you bear good fruit and *drastically* change for the better! Have a blessed day, everyone! ❤
I have watched a ton of travel videos on TH-cam and I think this one is my favorite. Grandpa is so inspiring, and your relationship with him is priceless. My heart is full from watching this story.

Your worries (yes, anxiety), depression, suicidal thoughts, EVERYTHING will melt away and be NO MORE when you lean on God and put your trust in him! When I have physical pain, I literally pray and the Lord quells it, that I am healed! Know that there is power in the name Jesus Christ! His name casts out demons and heals! People are bothered by his name. The world hates the truth and wants to continue living sinfully! God's children are set apart (holy) and righteous.
"Call me before leaving, so I know everything is fine" grandpas all over the world are the same. You love to see it. I just wish I could watch one of yalls videos without having to hit pause to shed tears of happiness. Beautiful work.
@@arturinrabag5683 I know man, absolutely heartbreaking. The fact that an old man who's been through such shit still has love to give is encouraging though.
I was crying my eyes out at the end when Grandpa Mikhail saw you off at the airport. You probably gave him more joy in the few days you were together than he has had in a while. You young men are kind, wonderful, generous and loving. I'm so glad your channel popped up in my TH-cam feed. Safe and happy travels to you always. 😊❤
My favorite part of the entire video...The genuine love and connection they experienced is so pure and amazing. Love this and its what the world needs more of
Grandpa needed friends just as much as yall did. You guys have hearts of gold. Thanks for treating him with respect and helping him. On flip side. He probably is one of the riched men in the town and he just wonders around helping people.
you don’t know a lot about Moldova, our rich people like to show their wealth with money, cars, houses, but at the same time remain callous compared to everyone else. with memories and warm hearts. Come visit us, our doors and hearts are open to everyone who comes with good intentions!!!
Their entire intimate friendship with Mikhail all started with "Who are you and what do you want?" before he told them his life story and shared so many experiences together. Mikhail is the best human.
The guys actually translated it wrongly. Mikhail's original question was something like "From where to where and why?", in Russian it's an usual combination of the W words, there's also a TV show in Russia called "What? Where? When?", so basically Mikhail's question construction was pretty similar. Mikhail used it in a humorous way, as he understood the guy was going to ask "how can I get there?". The translation made him look suspecting and untrustful, although in original the grandpa was totally in a joke mode.
What you all did for this man will live with him until the end. The patience, the kindness, the willingness to understand him even if he was different at first. Absolute love and empathy the way it should be! You are reminding the world what life is about. Connection and love is universal. And you can love a stranger and care for them. THANK YOU guys!! We all love you!
this grandpa is something else. he probably lived the best 3 days of his life with you guys. I hope he gets adopted by a family and lives the rest of his life being loved and cared for. I wish him a long and healthy life.
@@Mikemeds420 What exactly does he do to scam them? Very difficult to believe such words, especially when the man literally was down to pay for bus tickets and never even asked for a penny from them.
You guys ...you guys ....you guys and grandpa ...and beautiful Moldova just melted my heart .... The pure joy ...love and laughter you guys had on this just so wonderful.... It just shows it doesnt matter where your ftom or what age you are ... We all share this amazing humility and compassion
It breaks my heart to see, and feel, the tragedy that Mikhail has suffered. I could feel his loneliness, which is why he gravitated towards you three. Thank you for taking him under your wing....but in reality, I see that he took you three under his. As an ER/ICU/Trauma Nurse, I see so many elderly that have no one. Not one who cares. And that is why so many elderly will talk one's ear off.....because you might have been the only one who bothered to acknowledge them, in years. It is a sad truth. But you guys adopted this man, and made his life, better. Memories that he will think of as he passes to the next life. God bless you for putting a light back under that amazing man!!
Oh, it has happened to me several times. Whether it would be at a bus stop or in the park somewhere. Most of the times im not in a hurry when these strange connections happen and I feel happy to be a person which other people choose to talk to and sometimes even open their hearts to the point of tears. It's strange but absolutely heartwarming
@@Mikemeds420 Did we watch the same thing? Mikhail even tried to pay for things for them. I'm quite certain the guys from Yes Theory can tell when someone is trying to scam them.
I must admit, when I first saw the title I was skeptical about watching the video. Somehow I decided to still do it, and when I realized which country you’re talking about, I couldn’t wait to see what you have to say about it. At the end of the video I was crying and feeling extremely homesick for the sole reason that you have visited the country I was born in and haven’t been to since 2003. I still have family there and I would love to go back and visit them. Thank you so much for posting this video And introducing people to this wonderful country that most people that I have no idea it exists. ❤🇲🇩🇲🇩🇲🇩 ❤
I’ve literally never watched a video from you guys before, but the amount of kindness and compassion you showed to a lonely old man is immeasurable. I truly think you changed his life for the better and he’s forever grateful. You’ve gained a lifelong fan, thanks for doing this guys.
Guys, as a Moldovian, I can’t stress enough how happy I am to see that my country is finnaly appreciated for how amazong it is. We may not have much natural beauty or tourist attractions but we have love, the love for the country and for the people, which makes Moldova an amazing place. Cheers to you, a lovely video.
But you DO have much natural beauty, and tourist attractions (monasteries, wine cellars, nature...)... What you might be missing is a littler better infrastructure
This made me cry.... I have this crazy overwhelming feeling in my chest right now watching and its because of witnessing the amazing amount of empathy and love y'all have shared with Mikhail + everyone in this video. Thank you guys for creating these vids and i will share with everyone i know.... y'all are awesome
This is what life is all about. I wish the best for Grandpa. I didn’t know how attached I’d get to him after a 30 min video. Very wholesome. A place may seem like it’s not a good place to travel to or visit, but it’s not all about the destination, it’s mostly about who you’re exploring with and cherishing those everlasting memories. That’s what’s important. I can tell you made Grandpas life. Universe works in mysterious ways and it couldn’t have been more perfect watching this through your eyes. Thank you for the experience from TH-cam my friends. 💙
It's not about travel, it's about the people who live in this country They are the wealth and pride of Moldova, because as the anthem says: We have a nation without news He woke up from the sleep of death like the hero in the story
Mikhail is just amazing. I ended up crying, laughing and enjoying a lot much more than i anticipated. This video was truly amazing. Like he said "It was destiny"
I was expecting Granpa to be a crazy old guy but instead he made your trip ten times more. I never cried on a travel vlog ever but this made me really sad when you have to say goodbye. Im pretty sure the three days youve spent with him has been one of his fondest memories.
🥲😭 I'm not crying, it's just from staring intensely at the screen for 30 minutes. But honestly I felt like I was there with you guys for all 4 days in the span of half an hour. And Mikhail is just such a genuine soul that it was hard for me to watch you guys say goodbye to him. Much love to you guys and safe travels on all your adventures
Going with them till the very last moment at the airport and telling them to call him to let him know they are ok he really treated them like his own grandkids.
I am crying because Mikhail is so adorable and sweet. I am 61 and although I don't think of myself as elderly I am moving on in years and there is a fear of becoming invisible to society. The elderly have so much to give. It is a shame that in so many cultures they become ignored. You made this man's whole year and the fact you have spoken to him via Facetime is so very, very kind. I am now subscribed so I can "join" you on your adventures.

He is the spiritual avatar of Moldova. You don't find him, he finds you - then he dispenses some profound wisdom, points you towards the good wine, and stops you getting scammed by a guy on crutches 😄
Damn, I never felt this much emotion for some stranger in a video, I kinda wanna see him more. This Channel literally made me feel like the 4th person Mikhail loves, Mikhail lost his family but never lost himself. Stories and moments like this is what makes life worth fighting for even at the toughest times.
As someone dealing with family issues the line you wrote of Mikhail lost his family but never lost himself resonates with me so thanks for putting it that way. Mikhail knows how to leave the past in the past and find himself in the present moment as I strive to
Me 2 they need to go visit him again it doesn't have to be a video it just felt like dudes being bros and mikhail is the dudliest bro there is and this was beautiful man they should bring mikhail across the world to experience this because he has the ultimate yes theory vibe its like he's a sensai
This is the best episode of Yes Theory. Meeting a random grandpa with awesome positivity in life despite of what happened to his family. I hope he is doing good in Moldova now. Keep on doing awesome content like this.
Are you kidding me with all this? This is more than real. That was one hell of an experience even for us viewers. I'm all tearing up here as you say goodbye to "Grandpa." I'm of the believe that most people are generally good and it certainly doesn't matter where on earth they're from. Amazing! I hope you've stayed in contact with Mikhail and hope he's well
man I traveled a lot in my youth thanks to international races. And me and the boys from the crew stayed a little longer in each destination and we all are kinda yes guys like these. Then you find this kind of perspective... Everybody is kind in their hearts and all you do is reflect that feeling. And when in a group, all of this is enhanced :) I found this channel 3 days ago and can't stop watching those videos... It's bringing all the memories back and I cry in most of the cases of watching their videos :D All the feelings mixed. Thanks guys from Yes Theory for bringing all of this not just for me
When youre old, alot of the people you once knew dissapear and life gets very lonely for some. I think you guys gave the best thing this grandpa could ever get, friends.
I will have to agree. Life goes by so fast. It seems like I was just 20 and this year I turn 59. Enjoy your life while you have your health and are able to just get up and go. I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at the age of 50. They gave me 2-5 years to live. Going on my 9th year in July. No matter how hard life gets you can't ever give up.....
I feel the spirit of yes theory coming back. The beauty of learning and growing. The beauty of that man not wanting anything but to give you guys a good time. Thank you.
I love this video, you can just tell how Mikhail was happy to meet you and spend time with you, and you gave him the company he needed. These little gestures can change how someone feels. There is hope for kindness
Guys, I broke into tears. Thank you for showing my country in such a positive and cheerful light, it means a lot to us, the Moldovan people. It is so humbling to see you enjoying the simple life here and of course, Mihail is the star of everything (and I am not surprised a bit)

I'm not someone to get teary easily, but Mikhail seems like such a lovely person that the inevitable upcoming departure from him made me sad, I just hope he has a nice enough stable home to stay and some friends to enjoy his daily life
This is, hands down, the most meaningful and most moving travel vlog I have ever watched in my life. I can’t thank you guys enough for sharing this story with all of us.
You should take Mikail (our internet grandpa) on another adventure! to a place he has always wanted to travel to but never got the chance too! I think that would be a fun adventure :>
Having lived in Moldova for four years, in the capital but mostly in the countryside, the best way I have found to describe Moldova is: if you find beauty in simplicity, Moldova is magical; and indeed it was magical to me.
Beauty in simplicity, that was just perfect. I went there alone when I was 19. Out of the 60 countries I have visited, Moldova is the one I remember the best. Its amazing in its own way with the warmest people
I stumbled on this channel and this is my second video. The powerfulness of the chance meeting is so incredible and wholesome. You guys were a blessing to him - and him to you. I fought so many tears at the end. I just love Grandpa ❤
Clearly Mikhail saw them as their grandchildren and he took them to do the stuff he never could with his own family. It's so sad but incredibly wholesome at the same time. Mikhail is a national treasure and I wish him the best
I'm also from Moldova and I am so grateful that you have put my country into a different light. Thank you for having the grandpa with you and that you keep in touch. I would recommend you to come back as you have not seen many other places that Moldova is proud of. Lots of love from Moldovans xx
Ya, seriously important for you guys right now. I promise as an American that myself and many of those I know are highly motivated to keep pressure on our government and make sure Ukraine gets the offensive ability to take back thier lands. I honestly feel after the past few days most of us would like to say to hell with it, let's deploy and end this.... our military protects us but as we see this suffering we have to respond because every day we are a day too late for whomever could have been saved by the extreme might of my country and to the individual that's family is dead we've done far too little far too late. We benefit from a world economy we have to benefit the world in kind.
@MrAtikz Russia has made is clear over and over again that peace talks mean nothing to them and they do as they please, not only in 2016 but also for multiple occurrences now. I acknowledge that your country or Ukraine doesn’t need to be at the front lines right now but I find your opinion on the matter a bit unreasonable in the light of Russia’s actions
@MrAtikz Peace is up to Putin, and he'd be invading Moldova right now were it not for Ukraine and the arms from its allies. I'm afraid the only way to attain peace is to convince Putin that he hasn't the military capability to overrun Russia's neighbors. Medvedev just tweeted about invading the rest of Georgia. Moldova was on the Russian general's battle plans--that was caught on video. But, ya, Putin wants to essentially bring back the Soviet Union...minus the communism, perhaps, but definitely with Moscow (and himself) in charge. Is that what you are seeking, too?
I was born in Moldova. It saddens me when ppl say that Moldova is the poorest/worst country in Europe. I agree that the corruption is very bad there, but it’s a beautiful country and there are a lot of very friendly, kind ppl there. Thank you guys for this beautiful video. 🇲🇩💙💛❤ P.S Mihail def wasn’t gonna take any bs from the dude in the church 😅
I was in Moldova last year for few days. I really liked it, Chisinau is a pleasant City and monasteries (especally Hancu and Curchi) are amazing. People and food are really nice too 🙂
The title made me so mad and I'm not Moldovan. Literally every part of the world is stunning. Just bcs the government is bad doesn't make the landscape or the people bad. And, from my point of view people from poorer countries are way friendlier and more hospitable than the other one's.
This is BY FAR my favorite episode ever from this channel. I haven't stopped smiling and I just want to go back and watch it again right now. What an incredible experience with Mikel. He is really a character and the sweetest man. I would LOVE to see his life living with 8 months of income from you guys all at once. What a beautiful gift. But the most beautiful gift was the incredible time you spent with him. A man who easily could have passed right on by and none of that would have happened. Beautiful. You guys should go back and visit him.
It shows your character as to how well you all treated Mikaël. It's just too cute....very sweet. You weren't making fun of him or humiliating him behind his back. You surely made his life so much better. Good job guys ! 💥🍀👍👌🍀💥
I had a experience like this in Taiwan with a very wonderful old caretaker of a temple in Taipei. We spent several days together, and he even consoled me over some inner pain I had at the time. I'm so excited about this video! I will remember this trip for the rest of my life. I now have a new grandpa in Moldova and hope Mikhail inspires all of you to live a more spontaneous and free life. Cheers to Mikhail, our crazy Moldovan Grandpa.

Belarus born RussianPolish girl living in Philly here- you're a big part of my enjoyment of these videos. Hearing you speak is making me want to speak more of my native tongue lol but also your approach and the cultural translation you provide for anyone who might not have had any exposure to many European cultural differences is bridging gaps in understanding, big time 🙌 sometimes what's said and what's meant is different and you translate such a great image of everyone you interact with and it just means so much culturally so thank you 🙏 keep up the great work
And you have a grandma in Transnistria 😅
Mikhail is the embodiment of " wake up, goo outside and enjoy life as it is, enjoy the little things "

I'm a 60 year old man living in Stockholm, alone, but with a lot of friends to whom I can reach out. The way you guys connected with Mikhael was so honest and genuine, from both sides.

MIHAIL NOT ""MIKAIL
"
The guys actually translated it wrongly. Mikhail's original question was something like "From where to where and why?", in Russian it's an usual combination of the W words, there's also a TV show in Russia called "What? Where? When?", so basically Mikhail's question construction was pretty similar. Mikhail used it in a humorous way, as he understood the guy was going to ask "how can I get there?". The translation made him look suspecting and untrustful, although in original the grandpa was totally in a joke mode.

Is that what you are seeking, too?
i am gonna go to moldova now
I was born in Moldova. It saddens me when ppl say that Moldova is the poorest/worst country in Europe. I agree that the corruption is very bad there, but it’s a beautiful country and there are a lot of very friendly, kind ppl there. Thank you guys for this beautiful video. 🇲🇩💙💛❤
P.S Mihail def wasn’t gonna take any bs from the dude in the church 😅
I was in Moldova last year for few days. I really liked it, Chisinau is a pleasant City and monasteries (especally Hancu and Curchi) are amazing. People and food are really nice too 🙂
I thought poorest one is Albania
Beatiful country. Been once over 15 years ago but loved it and people were so wonderful ❤️
The title made me so mad and I'm not Moldovan. Literally every part of the world is stunning. Just bcs the government is bad doesn't make the landscape or the people bad. And, from my point of view people from poorer countries are way friendlier and more hospitable than the other one's.
I would love to visit your country
You surely made his life
so much better.
Good job guys !
💥🍀👍👌🍀💥
I had a experience like this in Taiwan with a very wonderful old caretaker of a temple in Taipei. We spent several days together, and he even consoled me over some inner pain I had at the time. I'll never forget him and I hope to see him again soon. Your experience with Mikhail is very palpable and you are blessed to have had the experience you had. I think in every country there is a very special old man or woman, a saint, waiting to find the right people to share life. You all treated him exceptionally well too. Really loved this.
I'm gonna miss Mikhail myself
I am Taiwanese, so lovely to see this comment here :) Really made my day. Wish you all the best!
