I read a comment saying that the caption is innocent in a video about this incident. It’s in a short story here on TH-cam.
I cried so much. I hated to see these students die, they had a life still ahead, until this captain saved himself and told the students to stay and wear a live vest. They had the chance to leave, but still stayed. A bunch of students drown, and hearing this now just makes me very sad. They have spent moments with their parents, siblings, or anyone else that means to them. Rest in peace, angels. I just wish the incident didn't happen. I've happen to be drawing a memorial of these students and the couple, don't forget 🎗💖.
It’s the 9th tomorrow. I cant imagine parents receiving calls from their kids, realising that its their last goodbyes and they could even do anything abt it. May they rest in peace 🎗️

My heart hurts for anyone who lost somebody they love. Even the president of Sewol cried and bowed down as an apology. I cant imagine the pain he felt knowing that what he started killed hundreds. Anything like this makes me want to fall down and cry, even though i dont know those innocent people. Those kids were so young.. honestly water travel is such a risk. We need eco-friendly planes too. R.I.P. to all of those wonderful kids who had such a bright, colorful future.

I swear I got goosebumps. I remember watching the explanation of Spring day.
And crying like a mess, and wishing for their parents, grand parents to stay strong to god.
I am never moving on from this. It was so painful to watch their videos, how desperate they were, how desperately they wanted to live but couldn't just because of the mistakes of the adults. Today's 1st April and it hurts even more. Ten years- ten years have passed but still haunts to think that they were waiting, they were waiting with a hope that someone would come and save them. They trusted the adults but no one cared to release an order, If they had released one single order of asking them to leave, today they would we alive. It hurts so bad.
I also lost a family member before. Yes it is very painful but i think it really hits when you realise that you will never see them again. You will never be able to hug them, you will never be able to see their smile again, you will never be able to hear their voice again. That just hits hard
This is the whole reason "spring day"is my forever fav song All I know is that it will forever be koreans fav song especially for the parents and those who lose there friends😭😭😭😥

Same here. I live in America and; yes, I will admit that I’m tender-hearted and so on; and even I cried when I found out. I don’t have 2 know a person 2 start crying 4 them. If u sit down and tell me a tragic story; like this 4 example; I will start crying.

Today 8 years ago this tragedy occurred. My heart breaks so much for all those beautiful angels. I hope they are all in a better place now, they had a such a bright future ahead of them but it was taken away from them and that breaks my heart none of them deserved that, they lost their lives because of the greed of higher ups and that is devastating, we will never forget them. 💜💛
What if there was no modification? What if the appropriate dosage was maintained? What if an evacuation announcement was made? What if the country responded well without making mistakes? What if news reporters didn’t publish false news? What if all the bad people who are not punished now were punished? I can't imagine how unfair and bitter he must have felt even after he died. If we had handled it better, we could have reduced the number of deaths.

I always come back reminiscing them. I don't know them by any means, im not even a citizen of korea but then, when i feel like giving up due to life struggle sometimes, i get strength from those students its like they always tell me not to give up on life since its a thing they all wished for yet they couldn't any longer, the least i could do is to live mine, so in that way its like im also living theirs.
I added this song to my list of memorial songs to be played on the anniversary of tragedies no matter the country

i couldn't watch this video in one go i started crying and they said they didn't wanted to die i got goosebumps i realized how we take our lives for granted we really need to appreciate it you never know what will happen next just do what you want to do so that when it really is the time when it ends you will have no regrets go say i love you to your parents go apologize to someone you want to go and take a step towards your dreams do all the things you want to in this life do it now don't wait for tomorrow also rip to all those who lost their lives i never got to know any of you but still just know that there are some friends who didn't even got to meet you but still miss you a lot hope you all are happy in heaven

It's so heartbreaking to lost children
It’s so sad. The fact that they were in disbelief and then panicking when the situation got more serious. I can only imagine myself in that situation with friends and it’s so terrible. It’s not fair.

I never failed to cry when I remember about this tragedy. It was really a tragedy, the exact definition of tragedy. They were all just high school kids.
It even gives my chest a pain, knowing that something like this happened 8 years ago but the pain is still the same I'm not from Korea but I felt the pain of loss. I'm sorry to everyone who lost their children and friends in this tragedy really .😭😭😔

rest in peace for the students victims of the tragedy of the sewol ship, even while watching this i burst into tears. As humans I feel sorry they couldn't survive, they had a bright future but had to lose their lives because of the selfishness of adults. I am truly sorry for the bereaved families.

This is so heart breaking. They could've been survived if they were told to do so. They all have their own life vests. The thing is you can hear both the fear(of dying ), the sadness(of them not being able to see their friends or family ever again or live out their dreams ) but most importantly the anger(of the crew not doing anything to save them) in their voices.

I was shocked when I saw a video explaining the meaning of Spring Day , I always loved the song but never understood it as I don't know Korean language. And I remembered that tragedy when we saw it on the news on TV here in my country years ago. May they rest in peace 😔

at the end, there must've been a confusion... I think it should've been 2014.04.16... April 16, 2014 was the day this tragedy happened... it's been 8 years, but still these clips from the kids during the sinking of the ship and the families wailing and hysterical still make me cry.
I got goosebumps at the recollection of the students of each classes... To think that almost an entire year of students were crossed out of the school's records as deceased is something so baffling and hard to believe, and yet it happened... and justice was never served 😢😢😢😢
It may not have haplened in my country, none of them may have been friends nor acquaintances of mine, but it was still a devastating and painful event for me.
Just the thought of, what could've happened if that was me or any of my siblings is enough to make it difficult for me to breathe 🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧
