Pastor Joel Webbon is hated because he is one of the only public mainstream-ish pastors currently who genuinely cares about young men and honestly listens to, evaluates and shows empathy to their concerns, rather than disregarding or suppressing them or shaming them. I'm not saying he's right about everything, but he certainly shows honesty and good and godly character. Much appreciated.
Yeah...that's not why people don't like Joel. His pride and arrogance is palpable and his methodology is unnecessarily divisive and often devoid of the true Christian gospel and riddled with a desire for personal political desires... I don't find that he cares about me whatsoever.

This topic is one that has been concerning me for awhile. My son it 19 and he just doesn't have friends. He is pretty much alone. He talks to his sister, who is 22, and that is about it. His sister has multiple friends. Women seem to have more friends around them than men do. My husband would be alone also if I wasn't in his life. I am my husband's only friend.

You guys touch on this, but reason why men are hesitant to make friends at church is because the modern evangelical church is built around women. Men don’t like to sit around and talk about our feelings. Being vulnerable like this feels like weakness. It doesn’t matter how many times the pastor with skinny jeans and white square framed glasses say otherwise. Men are not going to talk about how this Bible passage make them feel or cry about it. We know no one cares about how we feel elsewhere, so why would they here? Women are rewarded with attention if they show emotion at church. Men do not. If you see a man crying, you might say something kind or encouraging, but deep inside you already wrote him off.
I don't know what you mean by young. I my experience, men between ages 18 and 45 are completely alone. I know because I am 43. That's a wide range. It's not one generation. It's closing in on 3 at this point.

I am hoping to one day answer the calling for ordination so that I can travel a couple Lords Days a month to bring a proper worship to those who cannot come.
I can relate and I'm not young. Christ saved me 18 months ago and my socialising with people has slowly diminished.....visiting parents and Church are the highlights with occasional bi monthly geek gatherings......God is isolating me for a reason and I have to trust in the plan 🙏

Joel, I’m so confused by you…I do not understand how you believe that you are living like Christ. Speaking like Christ. Preaching and teaching like Christ…..if you are truly Christian, as you claim, then you know who you are when you look in the mirror. If you are truly as you say then you know what you see when you stare at your reflection. What you see is not truth and intelligence.
