I've always admired that Anderton's willingness to shout-out the team behind the camera and it's good to see the falcon has gotten some screen time too! Bravo Chris - great video.
Great and thorough first impressions video! I have the OG Volca FM and I love it! The reverb and extra polyphony make this update tempting! Thanks again!
People keep trashing the Volca line, but for someone just getting into or doesn't want a PhD in electronic music, they aren't so bad. You can get 4 or 5 units for less than a higher end midi keyboard. Thanks for the great video.
You're right, you can get 4 Volcas for less than a "proper" synth, 5 even if you're buying used. However! You're better of getting 1 proper synth instead. Get a Hydrasynth, a Monologue XD, a Minifreak, etc. and it'll be a better experience than dealing with a couple of Volcas.
Can Andertons Music/anybody reading this please recommend a basic mixer for use with half a dozen volcas? Nothing fancy: 6-8 channels (including a couple stereo channels), basic EQ and at least one send bus for FX.
Tje previous video in my playlist was from Canada where everyone not from B.C. apparently was subtitled, hardcoded in the video. *So glad we are Europeans*
Great demo, well done. Disappointing update to the original Volca FM though in my opinion. Ironic that it’s only capable of ‘1983 analogue polyphony’ when it should be 16 note polyphonic (at least), like the original DX7, given that it’s nearly 40 years on since the DX7 mk1 was released!
Saw the title to this video. Sound like the eighties???? I hate that. Volca FM2 is so much more than just a clichéd, cheesy, rinsed-to-death DX7 clone. Please be creative and stop comparing 'EPianos.' Show me what this can actually do, not what you want it to mimic.

Thanks for the love Tommy ❤️ appreciate it!
The Falcon takes the lead!! Fantastic!
Trying my best! Cheers man
Love the fact that the Falcon wants to learn from the hate as well, it's not just Jack being paranoid!
Oh i love these 80s sounds of the DX generation/family ... this was a quantum step back then🪒
Great demo ❗Thanks a lot for sharing ↗

Great video Falcon ! Thanks for sharing, love the sound examples 🔥👍🏼
Great to see the Falcon getting in front of the camera. Great job mate
Hopefully not to cringe 😂 cheers man!
@@TheChrisVella not at all mate, you were great. I'm all for squad rotation!
Love the Volca series. My Volca Bass was the first thing I bought from Andertons! Love it and my Volca Sample 2.
beautiful sound, this machine is awesome
Great work, that sound is amazing, beautiful, lush!
Nice work Falcon! Great demonstration.
Many thanks 🙏🏻
i really like this more technical side too! good job
Omg - it’s the Falcon!!!!
The Falcon escapes the Dux!!!! Well done!!!!
Nice job, Chris!
Cheers man!

I think the problem was the old Volca FM's 3-note poly was a bit too restrictive

Beautiful demo !
The Falcon Flies. 👍🏻
🦅
Go, Falcon, GO! Great job, cool synth. I kinda want one and the price can't be beat.
Go Falcon!
Nice video!!
Nice. The Maltese Volca.
It has a bit of a ring to it! 🧐
Hot dang, some presets on that machine sound like they're straight out of a Sega Genesis
Veeery nice
As a kid, I always wondered why the Genesis sounded so different compared to the SNES. I didn't find out it was FM until a couple months ago
This Volca will be soley used for the next Stranger Things season OST
I've only watched season one so far, no spoilers please
That's analogue this is FM 😅
Great sound⚡
It's nice to see someone with a full head of hair in front of the camera for a change
Falcon, nice to meet you. Fox.
Nice to meet you Fox!
This would be a fantastic box to put up on the right corner of a Deluxe Hydrasynth😎🎶🎹🎹🎶Play On

I’m most likely going to buy one, but very disappointed that the trs to midi adapter is NOT included.
I know I bought one and had to wait 2 days to be able to use in my setup!

Falcon!!!
Where's the portamento/glide for the mono setting? Where's the swing? Where's the ability to send arpeggios via the MIDI out?
How does it compare to the korg opsix?
Closer to a true DX7 sound than the OpSix. But the OpSix can do a lot of sounds the DX7 can’t.
@@gershon2481 cool thx 🙏
I think you'll find it is the modulator that affects the carrier!
I'm a noob at synths..I'm deciding between this and the Arturia MicroFreak as my first hardware unit 🤔
I have both -- I think you'll pick up editing the microfreak quicker than this
@@annother3350 I got the Microfreak..
Never took much interest in the Volca series but this seems and sounds very impressive. How does this compare to the dexed VST?
DEXED will mince it is so many ways
The Volca has a better sound -- probably due mainly to the lovely chorus. The volca is also better for real time tweaks where Dexed glitches
How is this different than what an ipad app can do?
I can see the keyboard not being big enough for the Volca.
Wait so you’re telling me he isn’t an actual falcon?? This is an outrage!!
I’ve been exposed!
The song that demonstrates the synth treacle potential of FM synths is “Together in electric dreams”.
Hi Chick Corea’s son.
“intuitive interface” said no FM synth ever lol
Opsix?

“Expanded” midi connectivity is not midi, and Korg doesn’t include the midi adaptor.
