      have you managed to cover a Korg Electribe EMX-1, the big blue metal one? if not, would you? Also, as an alternative, how about Yamaha Reface Keyboards - the YC, CS, CP, and DX? :)

      I must admit I'm curious because some of those scenes seems familliar to me.

    Keep doing more Volcas. I just gotten into these little machines and they're the absolute bomb despite their many limitations. A volca bass, volca drum and a synth can pretty much be a one man party.

    You're unironically a great salesman for the synth industry. I'm a guitarist who never owned any synth hardware and can barely use a daw, and I just bought a dx7 IIFD because of your videos. It has a broken key so I got it super cheap, but you basically memed me into buying it. It's leaning in the corner of my room right now like a huge black metal monolith. It frightens me, tbh.

Is anyone excited? our subscription box FILLS with nothing but one synth. Most of these music youtubers dont even post content UNLESS its a literal Ad for a synth. The volca bass arguably already had a refresh with the nubass. It’s quite different because you can’t control 3 voices independently in the sequencer but as an acid bass synth it’s better imo.

    • @mycosys
      @mycosys 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ironically the original volca FM does have MIDI out - Korg in their wisdom decided to not add a connector from the board to the outside but anyone with any soldering skills can add one.

      I'd like to see a Keys mk.II but the original was already pretty badass. A cleaner delay would be appreciated, I suppose, but that was part of the charm.

    It's always been in my mind that bad or good instruments don't exist, it's just learning to listen to the music it makes instead of the sounds it produces and your reviews just encapsulate that idea 120%. I have plenty of experience with guitars, acoustic drums and tube amps but my synth knowledge is severely limited, so I'm not bogged down with any colloquial popularity or hatred towards certain brands or products. Pretty much all this "bad gear" sounds amazing to me in the jams you make because you have this uncanny ability to apply the idea that sound needs a context to be meaningful or beautiful.

Its just insulting...they don’t even have the grace of allowing viewers any discussion, they jump you attempting to influence you how much they are not a influancer.
      Forgive me for venting a bit on this video, just while I know social media / influancer have a inherent bit of narcissist tendencies what encountered last few days with the latest product seeding was so over the top. Ah well, The reason you haven't received one from their marketing department is probably because you've got about 63K subscribers. The consistent quality of your tests and presentations, not to mention music (actual use) is that of a 1+ million subs channel and above, often way better, so they don't go by quality of content sadly - but rather the number of subscribers. And youtube has become a very hard place to grow. I worked in marketing for years, and we always worked like crazy to find out what was the "magic" behind certain youtubers success, if we knew that algorithm, we'd be the most powerful media company in the world, and no AD bureau that I know of can do that yet, you never know what will go viral or push the buttons of the next gen of viewers. But one thing you can count on - is that your loyal audience will always come back for more, and maybe that will be good enough, I hope you get enough patrons to keep going. Thanks for your almost Duracell-Bunny like stamina and endurance, we appreciate you.

    The Volca FM firmware is severely broken when loading patches: Korg misinterprets certain data as operator mutes. It's an incompetent, showstopper mistake. I got one of these babies since a while ago, and while it's good, I found out my Reface DX ends up producing much better music (music, not sound). Though it's more limited in Operator size, it sounds... better for some reason. I'm not sure if it's due to it having chorus, delay and all that already in the same unit, but I tend to gravitate to the Reface DX a lot more.
    Also, please cover the Roland System-1! People seem to hate it due to it's aira green and not being an analog SH-101 but it's so good as a standalone synth.
