Can we appreciate how much Martin was enthusiastic and respectful with Taylor and this interview. A lot of people don’t think she deserves this kind of recognition and he didn’t seem egotistical about his work
What did you think he was going to do? Shit on her for considering herself a director? What is there to appreciate about common courtesy? Really he should have said "You aren't even a real director."
I cry every time when I hear the last two lines of The Manuscript... "Now and then I reread the manuscript But the story isn't mine anymore!" 😢 I don't know why but it's so sad!
hearing taylor talk so fondly about aging makes me feel so comfortable. shes so open about the fact that she was scared about it, but as it happens, she realizes shes only becoming more herself, and shes becoming wiser with everything.
@@LiterallyBotched the fact that you're replying to every comment praising taylor is so pathetic please get a life i promise your opinion of her isn't going to change anything
She makes cat videos . Does she have bf I never see her with a man .It would never musician's love there music and playing for audiences too much. Plus the famous world and Joe average doesn't seen like probable match.
My goodness. The respect they have for each other in this interview. They make sure not to only talk about their own work and always pass the ball to the other person by complimenting them then asking them questions about it. So profoundly professional. I loved watching this! Thank you, Variety
It’s a matter of time before Taylor writes a book. I can see that becoming an extension to her songwriting skills. Brilliant video, they were both incredible here.
It's amazing how well she can speak about her craft while also showing appreciation for the work of others. She was incredibly articulate, and her discussion of Martin's incredible work reminded me of why I love film and hearing from directors so much. Congratulations to Martin and Taylor on this fantastic interview.
"you don't have to polish the doorknob so long that you forget to open the door" as someone whose perfectionism stops myself from making art, holy shit that's my new favorite tswift quote 🤯
@@kenna163 the purpose of a door is to be a portal into the next location. Polishing a doorknob is analogous to spending too much time perfecting a plan to make art, instead of just taking the leap. The purpose of art is the creation and expression itself, which propels you to even more creation and expression. It's a continuous, never-ending process, and perfectionism ends up being a hindrance.
I could seriously listen to Taylor talk for 6 hours straight she's so well spoken and you can tell these are things she deeply cares about. She's so smart yet still incredibly humble and caring.
I want to say that I've never listened to Taylor Swift's music much, but this interview has really opened my eyes to how brilliant of a person she is. What fantastic insight and understanding she has about the creative process. It's so refreshing compared to what you hear from most modern pop stars. I believe she would be capable of writing/directing a feature film.
Seconding the comment above! I’ve been a fan of Taylor’s music for over a decade and I always recommend her 9th album ‘Evermore’ to other creative adults. It’s such a good exhibit of her storytelling ability and song writing skill.
One thing I love about Taylor is just how ambitious she is! There’s nothing off limits to her. She’s creative all around and has no boundaries when it comes to creative outlets!
@B Babbichyou know what? that's how many people dismiss most successful women's work... It's so easy to outlook their hardwork by smearing snarky comments like u said when infact even their co workers praise them on how much dedicated and talented they are... You don't even know them or worked with them to make such remarks.. so making such blatant assumptions is just ridiculous to me atleast .....instead of taking their co workers word for it. Who has "actually" worked with them and know them better as a person than you & i.
@B Babbich Every collaborator of Taylor's said that she always did majority of the work. I remember a few of them even saying that they felt bad for getting credit because they've barely contributed anything
I was very confused when I saw Bradley Cooper and Spike Lee in this series, but then I saw this one and was like okay, they always pair a rookie and a vet, I guess. The pairings are unexpected, but they somehow work.
As a 19 year old, I feel very lucky to be growing up with Taylor. The way she puts her thoughts and emotions into words is so inspiring. What a talented amazing woman.
I’m a year older than Taylor and always envy young folks who have her to look up to! I think my life would be so different if she were doing the things she’s doing now when I was young!
I’m 17 and I’d never manage a complex loser behavior like her. I don’t have to do anything for approval or be a completely deranged as her fans. Thank god I’m normal.
What a fantastic discussion between two incredibly talented artists. Hearing how they aproach things so differently, but both have such respect and admiration for each others work was really refreshing. And oh my gosh, how well spoken and educated is Taylor!!
People just don't give Taylor enough credit for just how much she's studied and learned along the way in her career and she really is ready to make a feature film and I can't wait to see what she does!!
the last scene in all too well is her book presentations. And the film has chapters linke a book would. My guess is she's dropping hint on an upcoming book...
Martin immediately proposing to do mushrooms with Taylor Swift is just fabulous. Sounds like a fun video, and a format that would do at least as well as something like Hot Ones.
This interview alone is a proof of her writing her own music. she’s so eloquent, articulate and yet constructive. Her choice of words is just immaculate. SHE IS THE SONGWRITER OF THIS GENERATION WITHOUT A DOUBT

Taylor is so well spoken it's crazy. she speaks in such a similar way to her lyrics that it just baffles me, especially this being a conversational thing not a written speech. I could listen to her talk about her work and creative process forever!!! Her taste in movies seems so niche and refined too now I need to watch everything she mentioned because she spoke so highly of them.
Taylor is so articulate and well spoken, what an incredible talented woman. I love how Martin was so respectful, I can't wait to watch The Banshees of Inisherin.
I can sit and listen to both of them speaking a whole day, what a pleasant conversation... Taylor's mind and her ability to evolve with everything she does will always amaze me, brilliant woman with a brilliant mind..
This video really makes me understand and know so much more deeply about Taylor Swift than any other interviews she's ever had before. It focused on the only one thing that she wants us to focus on: Her Career, instead of who she's dating at the moment, or any other private personal life things of hers. I'm truly happy that we had a chance to know her better x
I love that Taylor is now exploring the themes of girlhood and innocence. It's really refreshing and educative, and I bet for her it must feel so cathartic. It makes me so proud of her because I think her adult perspective is really showing when she looks back. I love it so much
I would never have conceived of this pairing for a directors on directors video so it's a major surprise how damn good this is. The key is they are both writers/storytellers at heart and even though their approaches are different there is a definite bond here because of that. I thoroughly enjoyed the discussion.
If I’m being honest, I could have watched about 3 hours of this! They are both different in such significant ways but it was amazing to see the similarities in their work I’d never seen before. Such a great convo!
i admire how strong she is...she always tries whatever her heart says even if she knows there will be a group of people who are going to criticize her and don't respect her
@@GNF_cao those who criticize Dr. Taylor are just so envious of Taylor. She is so beautiful, smart, talented, intelligent, fluent, and very wealthy. And yet Taylor is humble in her ways.
i just feel so proud of taylor. she’s always branched in different directions when it came to her music, but now to see her finding new passions when she has always been this one thing is so inspiring for those us who’ve grown up with her and are struggling to find our own ways.
@Popcrave this is Taylor Swift and Martin McDonagh interview.. why r you bringing up other pop stars into this conversation weirdo. How is it any relevant here?
Do you feel proud that she is using her power and privilige to be on a stage that she doesn't deserve? She directed a short-film and not even a successful one. These interviews used to be about renowed directors who released some of the most important features of the year. Why is even Taylor Swift on this?! This is as weird as watching her playing an NBA game.
Hate on Taylor all you want, but I don't ever believe artists should be pigeonholed in their career. She was country, then pop, now a director. The creative mind is limitless and I'm excited to see what she does.
I agree with you, but isn't odd that she get to sit opposite Mcdonagh on Variety because of a short-film?!? She only gets to do it because she is Taylor Swift. There hundreds of directors who finally made their feature film but they get to be replaced by Taylor Swift with a short-film.
i absolutely adored listening to taylor and martin’s conversation… they were both so interested in eachothers work & shared great insights into their process. it really warms my heart to know how happy taylor is right now and that the more she creates the happier she is ♥️
This is just another proof of what an incredible intelligent, witty, wise, clever and talented woman she is. Those Taylor Swift haters often say they don’t like her music bc it’s „boring and girly“ or whatever but those people just don’t understand the depth and meaning of her work. I mean the profoundness that’s put in her art and lyrics really shouldn’t be gone unnoticed. But only a few really have the capacity to understand that.
"Only a few have the capacity to understand that" Surely you jest? Taylor writes songs that appeal to the common person. She writes of her own experiences that resonate with millions. Most critics do say that she's a fine songwriter and lyricist. Her "haters" are probably a small demographic, I wouldn't classify or categorise those who don't enjoy her music as "haters". Musical tastes are subjective, and I know people that don't like her music but can acknowledge her way with words and ability to craft hits.
Taylor Swift is a multi skilled and confident person who believes in herself and was definitely on her own when making decisions about her career at a very young age. Having to listen to people who had 'experiences' and then making choices which probs offended some but felt good at the time.
As a Drama Teacher and a Swiftie (since 2008, OG over here 😅), whose favourite playwright is Martin (The Pillowman is one of my favourite plays) and Taylor being my absolute fav since I was 11 (now in my late 20’s) this has made my WEEK!
I love how humble she is. I also appreciate how well aware she is of celebrities who act one way in the public eye, but behind close doors they’re not who they appear to be. And that she’s not covering up for them just because she’s famous. So glad she’s staying away from such celebs and that she’s definitely not one of them. She’s just trying to have fun and create art. Plus, she’s so supportive of everyone❤
What a great conversation. So often when I see interviews of Taylor Swift, it's like she can't forget the audience is there and she kind of has a vibe of still being in performance mode, and the interviewers don't usually seem especially interested in her as a person, which doesn't help. But here, both participants were so relaxed and engaged and just having a very genuine conversation. It brought out so much more depth.
Taylor really is one in a million, a once in a lifetime artist and we should be glad to witness her making history whether it’s about music or movies. Future generations will be jealous of us that we got to experience this. I still don’t think she gets the appreciation she deserves.
People who don’t listen to her music still view as the girl who writes about her ex’s or just breakups. She has evolved into so much more and writes about all kinds of things.
I discovered martin McDonough very recently and binged his three films in preparation for three banshees. Now that I've seen all four, I must say he's an incredible director and writer. His dark, comedic dramas just don't miss.
@@PurushaDesa most of in brudges is perfect cinema honestly. Three billboards is the most well made, with the most human characters. Three banshees is the most thought provoking. 7 psychopaths is a lot of fun and is hilarious. But In brudges is absolutely my favorite. The characters, the setting, the comedy, the drama, the climax. It's all perfect.
Just watched Three billboards again. It’s definitely a little over dramatic at parts like the flashback scene but damn, I was an emotional wreck watching the 2nd half all over again

honestly I'm not even a Taylor Swift fan, but she seems like a really nice person and someone who is passionate about telling stories and exploring her creativity. I see some fellow cinephiles acting really negatively towards Swift but I think it's not fair. I think it's great she's exploring this side of her creative mind, and she's not harming anyone in doing so (I say this because some people on twitter are acting like she personally killed their favourite director)

Taylor's absolute enthusiasm towards Martin's movie has finally convinced me to give it a watch. What a fantastic conversation! I only wish Martin was just a bit more vocal, most of his answers were too short and left me even more curious about his work. But well, maybe that was his strategy all along.
You should probably give his work a go and let it explain itself. I can absolutely reccomend all of his movies. In Bruges and 3 Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri are absolutely brilliant, even tho I reckon not for everyone.
Unfortunately I’m not seeing a future where Swift fans actually enjoy Banshees, especially if they have no knowledge of Irish Civil War or haven’t seen any of Martin’s previous works
I'm obsessed with "the Banshees of Inisherin", especially the island and the poignant "maybe you were never nice" line... and Taylor Swift has been my idol for years! Thank you for bringing the two of them together to talk about directing and creating art!
I’ve been a fan for … 10 years exactly and this is her best interview to date. I’ve watch her grow and I’m just in awe of how she has reached this stratosphere of talent and work ethic. Hands down one of the best talks I’ve seen recorded
@@saeidghasemi5535you need to reread what they said again because They literally did not talk down on Martin at all they just said that this was such a comfortable conversation and one of the best talks they’ve seen. That’s giving props to both. Stop trying to create a comparison between the two.
I watched The Banshees of Inisherin with my family last night after watching this interview. Absolutely stunning. Heartbreaking with enough wit and absurdity to make that pain bearable. The acting and direction are extraordinary. Colin Farrell transforms into his role and has never been better. My family is still discussing the film today. Martin McDonagh and everyone involved deserve all the awards!!
I absolutely love how Martin is so invested in learning about her direction. She talks about her work for a majority of the video but thats only because Martin is so kind to keep his answers short and turn the question back on her
Because he probably has been in the game long enough to know that most people are coming to this video to see her, not him, and he does not want to be dragged by her huge fanbase for mistreating an "upcoming" "female" director that frankly isn't in the same league as him when it comes to output and quality of output at the moment.
@@jehle1777 A bit? TS has a policy that she only ever does scripted interviews. It's well known in the entertainment industry at this point so I guess Martin is really pulling it off. Who wouldn't be a bit cautious about how they interact with someone with a fanbase that will come out of the woodworks to police those who even breathe the woman's name lol? It's good that both people have manners and are cordial to one another. I just don't think it goes really beyond that. The original commenter had an opinion; this is mine lol. Who knows if the guy was actually interested in what she had to say? We don't know him. Who hasn't used a nice persona to work through a job interview or a high-stake opportunity? It's all just presentation.
@@jehle1777 Okay then, we will just believe what we want lol. A celebrity who knows that a video is going to be watched by millions does not have a script? Let's just say that I am wrong. How believable is the whole scenario of someone this image-obsessed being this watched and not exercising control? Between the two of us, I guess you're the one who has connections that have actually worked behind the scenes of a broadcast/media studio -- you clearly know your stuff. Again, you are free to think what you want. I wasn't really answering to you anyway with my OG comment.
As a person who is a director, hearing Taylor talk about directing and her love for it is absolutely amazing. I relate to her in so many ways because we've both dealt with our image among people being altered and impacted, have taken inspiration from it and turned it into our own ways of creating art. I love Taylor so much because like her, I do so many different art forms that sometimes I can't even keep up with myself and my friends always wonder what I will do next. Thank you Taylor for always being that massive force of inspiration for my generation and many others. Your creativity and intelligence will create the creatives. I think mine will too very soon.
@@hopefulromantic. not that miserable to be irked by people praising and comparing themselves to celebrities in order to tell others about their own accomplishments
This feels like an English essay, with the detail of Taylor's words, the analysis of the film, and how they both have so much knowledge of both works and bodies of work of the other director. I'm impressed with the talent they both have, and I'm jealous of how effortlessly their talent comes
What a beautiful conversation between these two artists. Hearing them express sincere admiration for each other's work was a breath of fresh air to watch.
Taylor Swift really is just an articulate speaker, the way she spoke her mind always amazes me. I'm looking forward to what she'll gonna do in the future, I know she'll just keep getting better and I'm so excited for her future films.
martin mcdonagh is a legend. i can't wait to watch banshees of inisherin. it definitely must be a masterpiece. taylor swift has always been such a trailblazer. even if you don't like her music, we have to agree that she's talented and she's an ambitious woman who isn't afraid to try extensions as she says to her music and storytelling. i'm looking forward to her directorial debut with searchlight pictures. she's not talented. she makes flavourless gruel for farm animals' troughs. her art reflects her hyper-bourgeois upbringing and its total artistic and moral vacuity
this is amazing! it really gives insight into their minds, their creative choices, and their art! i’m so glad that martin mcdonagh was so open to taylor swift despite her being a new director, and that she was so instantly comfortable. you can tell these are two incredibly warm and intelligent people.
The way Taylor talks about the movie made me feel so excited to watch it. Martin's direction and screenwriting is really brilliant. I'm so excited to watch this.
Taylor continues to amaze me, she started out as a phenom and continues to be one!!! Not just in singing, but everything she puts her hand to, I know this sounds like a lofty achievement but she will win an Oscar no doubt! ❤🏆
@Popcrave what's ur problem with the random ass comments shading other singers under random comment threads? Is that a weird fetish of yours or something 💀💀
She is such a hardworking woman, from writing her own songs to producing and singing them, now she is going to throw her hands in directing movies, I hope she succeeds
Taylor notices everything. I think that surprises people sometimes. She's curious, well read and articulate. At their core, each of them is a story seller. Martin started as a playwright and Taylor as a songwriter. He progressed to short films and then feature length. Taylor has done the same, except she is much earlier in her journey as a director. I think Martin knew she had been contracted to do the feature length, because he asked her about it. I think it's fantastic to have this one in the can. It will be interesting to look back on this interview five films from now for both of them.
I enjoyed watching Taylor and Martin talking about their works. I didn’t even notice it has already been 45 mins? Wow!!! They both talk with such eloquence and they both have thorough knowledge of each other’s projects and work history. Martin is a great director and Taylor has started reaching new heights with directing, this was such a good pairing for Directors on Directors. Great job, Variety!
Jack Antanoff said it best "Very few people who are as talented as she is work as hard as she does" She is a storyteller in the way Roger Federer is a tennis player.... They both make the amazing appear so easy it's almost mundane.....
Actually Mcdonagh storyboarded all of Banshees by hand. He certainly collaborated with his DOP of course but he knew exactly what he was chasing in the dialogue scenes. It's this combination of precision and inspiration and daring that makes his work so enjoyable.
I love listening to her talk about her art, she's so passionate. Her one liner's are epic like "I'm preaching to the converted". I can't wait to see her feature film!!!!
I just want 1% of Taylor's creativity & productivity to be applied in my life, cause she's just never stop working, and I love her for doing all these.
This was such an enlightening conversation. Both of their works were amongst the best of the last year and they showed genuine interest in discussing it.
Gosh what an amazing and respectful conversation. Lots of great points made, especially about how friendship breakups aren’t talked about enough in media and how you don’t have to suffer alongside your art
So martin writes the way some people daydream. You kinda know the way you want it to go but sometimes it just has a life of its own and it fully takes the reins. It reminded me of the way Dali would do surrealism, sort of dancing on and around that line that separates the state of awake and aware from the asleep and fever-dreaming one, and trusting the subconscious to do whatever needs to be done. Whatever it is that's pushing to come out, don't try to make sense of it and manage it, just let it come out and exist. It has its reasons and its rights. Honestly, creating like that feels just incredibly cathartic and fulfilling. Hey, if I'm not wrong, Taylor basically wrote the song All Too Well just like that, didn't she? in a spur-of-the-moment, fluid and vulnerable single 15-minute take during rehearsals.
I wasn’t sure what to expect watching this, and was pleasantly surprised! We know Martin is a king in this craft, but I actually really enjoyed hearing Taylor’s perspective on the creative process through a director’s lens. There is an awareness and eagerness there that I think will fuel some more amazing filmmaking in the future. Very unique but amazing decision to pair these two.
i wish interviews like these would last forever i love hearing about her creative process and how her mind works shes such a wonderfully interesting person
Taylor sets the bar so high as a musician, song writer and director, she is extremely talented it's insane! I can't wait for her directorial debut with Searchlight Pictures, I know it's going to be amazing, even watching the bts of All Too Well and seeing her passion and creativity flow was so natural for her. I love her sm ❤️
I have loved Martin's plays for a long time, that dark comedy streak he has is so raw and full, his work is always exciting and he takes it to really interesting places. I especially loved seeing The Leuitenant of Inishmore in the West End a couple of years ago, and of course his highly acclaimed Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Taylor is an incredible songwriter, performer and now filmmaker. I thought the All Too Well Short Film really shows her creativity, her eye for visual and aural storytelling, but also a real understanding she has built with her fans, her work is a always a conversation between herself, her characters/people in her life, and her fans. Dylan and Sadie also both loved her work before working with her and I think that joy they have working together really shows. This is an unusual pairing, but somehow it works really well, so hats off to Variety! I am excited to see Banshees when I find the time, (saw the trailer ages ago and it looks brilliant) and the feature film Taylor has in the works!
I saw some of Martin's movies but I didn't know him as a director and i'm glad i got to know about him through this interview because he is absolutely brilliant and down to earth. Love this pairing, i'm so excited for taylor's future work
I love how the Cardigan and Willow videos connect, they are such beautiful videos and it so cool that they forge that visual link between the sister albums
THIS. WAS. BRILLIANT. Just the simple antithesis of Taylor, knowing best how she wants it done, but also believing that being prepared & organized is the way to go for her and Martin going with the flow here & there, while also knowing how things should get done from his perspective. Both sides in conversation is truly wonderful, picking notes from here, advices from there. It really shows 'experience' vs 'beginning' a process. Both while keeping it fresh, vibrant, insightful. Also, themselves learning from eachother! From music videos to short films to full on movies. Great interview.
Taylor is passionate, articulate and respectful as usual. And it's great to see Martin is so down to earth and shows Taylor the same amount of if not more respect even though shes relatively new to the directing scene.
Yes, congrats to Taylor, who really is having a moment in her career! 😊 I did feel a lurch in my chest when I saw the word “respectful” used. She is respectful in the confines of this video. But she is also a capitalist and one who has been somewhat ruthless in her rise to the top. I think that’s important to remember. While I love her musicianship/artistry, I don’t think we should be putting her up as some kind of example of nobility. These are issues I keep coming up against as a fan of Taylor’s music. Why are we not trying to hold Taylor accountable for the time she took to Twitter to defend herself using feminism about a line in the tv show Ginny and Georgia yet remained silent when her fans unleashed racist threats of death on the actress (a woman of color)? This was two years ago and still no comment from her or her team, despite Tweets she made in 2020 around the time of the George Floyd protests promising to be “loudly and ferociously anti-racist”. The Ginny and Georgia incident happened less than a year later. As a result, her claims in that anti-racist tweet ring hollow, as does her claim to feminism. There was also her attempt to silence a blogger for saying she should denounce white supremacy in 2017. That was just not it. She could have sent the cease-and-desist to the white supremacists claiming that she shared their beliefs instead. That move was very disturbing to me and I feel like no one really talks about it, despite coverage of it by NPR, Time, Newsweek, NBC, and other major news outlets. And then she told her fans to “Let (Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun) know how you feel” in response to the Masters Controversy, only to say nothing when fans released their addresses online and sent death threats to him and his children. It’s giving “I’m a super powerful person who gets my way by siccing my rabid fans on all my foes” and I am beyond grossed out by it. Someone could have died. I have literally spoken with people whose argument was that Scooter Braun had that coming to him. Wtf? My impression is that he is a cog in a larger machine, not the problem in and of himself. Taylor signed a contract, after all. I respect the fight for artists’ rights to their music, but I do not condone the takedown of another person, ESPECIALLY when death threats are involved and their HOME ADDRESS is being released. Not that I think she’s actually reading this, but Tay, I have loved you for years (since Debut in 2006) and spent a lot of time, listens, and money supporting you. but at this point I’m not sure about you. This is not a cute look. To her other fans, all the love to you, and let’s try and hold her accountable on our platforms, whether that be TikTok or IG or YT or Twitter. Being a fan isn’t just celebrating someone and kissing the ground they walk on. It’s a bit eerie to me some peoples’ allegiance to her outweighs their principles of right and wrong. Again, I have spoken with people who actually DEFEND these things, believe it or not. 😭 Labelling me as a hater can only be an attempt to dismiss valid concerns because I very much have my own attachment to her. Went to a concert at age 19 in 2011 and cried tears of joy when she came on stage. Her lyrics are beautiful and she is immensely talented. I have fond memories associated with the releases of each of her albums. But I know how these situations make me feel and I have trouble being fully present to appreciate her musicianship and lyricism like I used to. Can anyone relate to this? I have been treated really terribly for sharing this opinion. I just feel like there has to be room in this fandom for accountability, right? If she’s our “fave”, why can’t our fave be held accountable? It feels like the only two accepted modes of existing with regard to Taylor are “Stan” or “pro-cancel-culture / hater”, and this feels very toxic to me. She’s been heavily criticized for her silence, and in the ways she has responded to this criticism, I applaud her. In the situations where using her voice really counts, I have indeed never heard silence quite this loud. 😭
@@mdrowe726 Taylor is not the one to tell people what to do and not to do, she is not the one committing the crimes such as sending death threats (which she has received for years (especially in 2016-2017) it is common sense that that should not be done, and that your actions have consequences, but imagine how it would look if she defended scooter.

The fact that she’s having to reminisce about one past heartbreak while going through one here with Joe was probably very introspective for her

Yeah, the moment I heard it I was like "oh, my god, that's such a brilliant way of saying it."
Yep. A “Bingo” moment for me, too.
What does that even mean?
@kenna163 "Don't let perfect be the enemy of good". Or: Don't spend so long on perfecting something that you don't get to the next thing.

I want to say that I've never listened to Taylor Swift's music much, but this interview has really opened my eyes to how brilliant of a person she is. What fantastic insight and understanding she has about the creative process. It's so refreshing compared to what you hear from most modern pop stars. @B Babbichyou know what? that's how many people dismiss most successful women's work...
Also "profoundness" isn't an actual word, you mean *profundity*.
Taylor Swift is a multi skilled and confident person who believes in herself and was definitely on her own when making decisions about her career at a very young age. Having to listen to people who had 'experiences' and then making choices which probs offended some but felt good at the time.
Taylor and Martin were more chilled out and open than most of the actors in this project.

I could hear insanely talented and creative people talk about their works FOR HOURS. Thanks for this variety!!!!!
Taylor is so talented and smart. I often get emotional when I think about how her music has been with me and grown with me for 15 years.

I just want 1% of Taylor's creativity & productivity to be applied in my life, cause she's just never stop working, and I love her for doing all these.
yeah, it must be hard to re-release ten year old albums and sing songs you didn't write
@@DrawtheCurtains she has been a co writer or sole writer on every one of her songs.
@@DrawtheCurtains who is writing her songs😭😭😭😭😭
songs she didn't write... so i guess speak now just doesn't exist?
Those are some real low standards you got.
Seriously I just watched 3 billboards.
I have just recently become a Taylor fan! Both these humans are so genius. I am in awe!
I could listen to Taylor Swift talks all day and not get bored to be honest, I love the way she thinks.
I literally cannot wait for her to start directing her first feature film
She’s so smart and has such an amazing way with words. Can’t wait to see her direct more stuff in the future.
incredible how she managed to be a pop star over so many years like nobody did… and she even managed to still funny, talentend And dedicated
McDanagh seems quite surprised with her eloquence as she processed her directorial debut.
the way she is so smart and hardworking and achieving so much i’m so proud of her 🥺
I wasn’t sure what to expect watching this, and was pleasantly surprised!
I love her sm ❤️
she has 0 talent except a willingness to make corporate cynical pop and hyper-rich banker parents who bankrolled her career start
Her eyes are so pretty . How can someone have such beautiful blue eyes
Taylor oozes intelligence like sap from a tree. A spectacular artist with the eloquence everyone wants but a few possess.
@helllajenniferyou clearly having nothing better to do than be a troll. Can’t get more basic than that
@helllajennifer are you quoting Anna Delvy from Inventing Anna 🤣🤣🤣
lol m8
@helllajennifer she is intelligent and well read while you are here, a hater
@helllajennifer She is far from basic but INCELS will always bew jealous when women outshine them in life
Taylor never ceases to amaze me...her talent is infinite. Love Martin's art too. Great interview!
THIS. WAS.
I did feel a lurch in my chest when I saw the word “respectful” used.
Labelling me as a hater can only be an attempt to dismiss valid concerns because I very much have my own attachment to her.
@@metoziii we will have to agree to disagree on this. All I’ll say is if you do your research you might find that she has a history. She is a capitalist and we need to remember that.
@@mdrowe726 i get that you feel this way but this was such a randomly long comment to put in here, which is a video talking abt her as a director, not any other aspect of her life. like lmfaooo
@@reenaznawar7004 yeah I hear that. It was the word “respectful” for me, though, when she has a history of using her fanbase to incite hate against others.
taylor is such an incredible artist, musician, songwriter, and lyricist. i hope she never stops making music :)
I could listen to Taylor talk forever, so articulate, so intelligent, so passionate
taylor's so introspective like her insight and creative thoughts process genuinely catches your attention and makes you feel emotionally invested. what a brilliant and talented woman !
