Disagreements in these complex and sensitive matters are natural. There are tens of thousands of varying Christian understandings of the ancient collection of religious texts, resulting in thousands of denominations. Let’s recognize and respect the diversity of understandings in this matter, including LGBT-affirming ones and no-love-or-family-if-it’s-the-wrong-hole ones. #DiversityInFaith #LoveWins

If you look at the breathe and scope of scripture. The male/female marriage is represented in the culmination of the bringing in a new and living way depicted as Christ (the male groom) joined in a marriage union with His Church (a female bride) Christ/Church holy matrimony. Homosexuality is anathema to this understanding. thanks for your input on this topic!

Thank you for sharing your perspective. As someone who is LGBT-affirming, I believe that the message of love, acceptance, and inclusivity is at the heart of many religious teachings, including Christianity. While traditional interpretations of scripture emphasize male/female marriage, it's also important to consider the broader context of love and commitment.
Many people interpret the Bible in ways that affirm and include LGBT individuals. They argue that the core message of Christ's teachings is about love, compassion, and justice for all people, regardless of their gender or sexual orientation. The metaphor of Christ and the Church as a marriage can be seen as a symbol of a loving and committed relationship rather than a strict template for human marriages.
Additionally, it's essential to recognize the diversity of thought within the Christian community. Many denominations and congregations fully support and affirm LGBT relationships, seeing them as equally capable of reflecting the love and commitment that Christ embodies.
In the end, interpretations of scripture can vary widely, and it's valuable to engage in open, respectful dialogue that seeks to understand and support each other. Love and acceptance are fundamental principles that can help bridge our differences.

@@user-yx4ib7oh8v What if we don't "interpret" the Bible, but understand the truth it is saying objectively? For instance, If the purpose (truth) of a red light is to tell you to stop from moving, my "interpretation" of the meaning of that color is meaningless. What if I interpret red to mean go? Or simply to slow down? It means what it is intended to mean. The color is red and it means stop. It means what it says specifically. You are arguing that since some "interpret" scripture this way and others that way, hence it can mean whatever we interpret it to mean, is basically saying "there is no truth" Truth is only my truth. If I become the standard of truth, to make into truth what I interpret truth to be, then I become a god unto myself. It is very arrogant to think our "interpretation" of scripture is true. the Bible will allow you to interpret itself on by and on it's own terms. The Bible is the objective standard of measure and truth and it means what it means regardless of how we interpret it.
The scripture is very clear on homosexuality. It tells us what it means on this subject. I know you are fully aware of what the Bible teaches about the practice of homosexuality.
My post was to give a context as to why homosexuality is an abomination to God. Why such strong language? Why call out this behavior so specifically and forcefully? To be far, adultery and idolatry is just as bad. Why? IT GOES AGAINST GOD'S PLAN. His plan. No my plan. Not your plan. His plan. God is the One who makes the plan. Adultery, homosexuality, idolatry (in it's all forms) goes against God's plan. It is up to us to understand why this is. In my post, I was simply giving a small example of why it is what it is.
"But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted." I Tim 1:8-11
did you catch that? "whatever else is contrary to sound teaching" Homosexuality is contrary to sound teaching (truth)
Those who practice these things are still under the law.
The good news is homosexuals can repent. No one is forcing them to commit acts of homosexuality. They can choose to be celibate and free from any sexual relationships other than a devote and pure relationship with the Lord. They can also choose to get married the way the scriptures lays it out between one man and one woman. The expression of the One perfect union.
I am no different. I engaged in terrible sins of fornication, lusts of the flesh and of the mind, and practiced terrible debauchery before I became a Christian. I believed in the Lord, repented, made the good confession, and was baptized for the forgiveness of sins and to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. From that day on I remained celibate for 4.5 years until I was married to one woman.
This is in keeping with the plan of God.

@@timdanyo898 I understand and respect your commitment to interpreting the Bible as an objective standard of truth. However, interpretations of scripture have varied widely throughout history and across different denominations. The Bible, like any ancient text, is read and understood through the lens of our cultural, historical, and personal contexts.
While you see the Bible as clearly condemning homosexuality, many others, including theologians and biblical scholars, interpret these passages differently. They argue that the context in which these verses were written was vastly different from today and that the Bible's core messages of love, compassion, and justice should guide our understanding.
For example, some scholars suggest that the specific condemnations of homosexuality in the Bible are addressing exploitative or non-consensual relationships rather than loving, consensual same-sex relationships as we understand them today. Others point out that the Bible has been used in the past to justify other practices we now reject, such as slavery or the subjugation of women, and argue that our understanding of scripture should evolve as our understanding of human dignity and justice evolves.
Regarding the idea that adhering to one's interpretation equates to creating a subjective truth, I believe that seeking to understand scripture through a compassionate and inclusive lens doesn't negate its objective truth but rather seeks to apply its core principles-love, justice, and mercy-in a modern context.
Moreover, it’s important to consider the lived experiences of LGBT Christians who find deep meaning and affirmation in their faith. Many testify to feeling called to express their love and commitment within the framework of their relationship with God, and they see this as being in harmony with the teachings of Christ.
Ultimately, while we may have different views, I believe it is possible to hold these discussions with mutual respect and a shared commitment to understanding and compassion.

@@user-yx4ib7oh8v Sure.. mutual respect is a good thing. I appreciate the tone of your argument.
God is clear and does define what homosexuality is, how it is practiced, and why it is an abomination. Again.. no one is making people commit acts of homosexuality. God never condones it, not once. He does explicitly warn against it in no uncertain terms.
You are free to interpret a red light to mean "go." That's fine. God designs things the way He sees fit and mean what He says. When God says homosexuality as "men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error." Rom 1: 27 That is very all encompassing.
You can interpret scripture in as many different ways and perpsectives you want. We have total freedom to do that. There is only one right interpretation though. It is up to us to find out what that one interpretation is. That's what truth is. The Bible NEVER shows homosexuality in a godly light. Marriage is ALWAYS between male and female. Marriage is NEVER depicted in gay terms. The very plan of God is demonstrated in male/feamle marriage the Bide (Church) the Groom (Christ)
Again, objective red can be interpreted as green, but it's not true.
You have made a new LGBT religion basically. It's definitely not founded on the truth of Christ and His Church. Homosexuality is "contrary to sound teaching." Meaning, the exact opposite. Satanic.

@@timdanyo898 Thank you for your response and for engaging in this discussion respectfully. I appreciate your perspective and the importance you place on scriptural truth. Here are a few thoughts to consider:
While I understand that many interpret passages like Romans 1:27 as clear condemnations of homosexuality, others argue that the cultural and historical context of these passages is crucial. Some scholars suggest that these verses address specific behaviors or practices, rather than loving, committed same-sex relationships as we understand them today.
It's also important to recognize that the Bible has been interpreted in many ways over centuries. For example, interpretations regarding issues like slavery, the role of women, and divorce have evolved significantly. Many Christians believe that our understanding of scripture should continue to grow and adapt as we seek to apply the core messages of love, justice, and compassion.
The lived experiences of LGBT Christians who feel deeply connected to their faith and to God should not be dismissed. These individuals often testify to a profound sense of being called to express their love and commitment within the framework of their relationship with God. They see this as being in harmony with the teachings of Christ.
Ultimately, it's crucial for us to continue having these conversations with mutual respect and a genuine desire to understand each other. While we may not agree on every interpretation, we can strive to support and love one another as we navigate these complex and deeply personal topics.

Its wrong. No life comes ftom it. I listened to a individual who came out of homosexuality, who said "Its love of SELF! Its wrong, its uncomfortable, life doesn't naturally come from homosexuality. We cant keep looking for loopholes. If your a Bible believing Christian simply admit its wrong. Ive lived in a popular city...I never came across a stripper, prostitute or homosexual that wasnt molested as a child. I think there's a deeper discussion on imprinted sin.

Do you believe incest is scriptural? Homosexuality isn't anything new otherwise why would God condemn it?
However, Incest was Mandated by God - twice! In the beginning of the human race(s)[creation] and secondly after the flood. Yet, he condemned it later.
God also created evil. Fporee choice is not a true teaching. Do you have the choice whether to sin or not? Of course you/ we don't. Otherwise we would be God.
    - Remember, Paul "doing the things he wills NOT to do.."?
-Did God know humans would fail/ miss the mark/ sin -- prior to creating us? Of course he did otherwise he wouldn't be 'all'0 knowing.
-Who created Satan? If the Gospel of Luke is accurate about the fallen arch-angel, how was he tempted with evil if evil did not exist beforehand? because God created angelic(supposed sinless) beings yet evil must have existed or there would be no temptation. So who created evil?
How can one have an "evil" inclination unless God, the all knowing who breathed 'life' into the seen and unseen world, made him that way?
I believe in God. At the same time you/me - every human(and the beings in the unseen world) sin. God says if you say you "have no sin" he says, "you're 'liar' and the truth is Not in you.."
If you had a choice wouldn't you "choose" not to sin?
God is so strict that merely thinking about boinking another human while married is considered a sin. Do you have a choice "Not" to lust? Ha!!
Go ahead and tell me how you've mastered being holy and blameless. Why not? Afterall, you have "free choice" don't you?
