It is good to see VW Passat is now about the same par with those luxurious executive sedan. Merc and BMW need a lot work to do to keep their crown. Since Passat have almost everything it needs for a premium car, I'll choose Passat over badges.
Agree with you, when it comes to the best bang for buck, I think the VW Passat is a winner, it has the looks, the feel, and the performance.
As for BMW, all the extra options that are available in overseas market like powered boot, multi surround view cameras, blind side indicator etc for the F30 series are simply not made available (so called "keep the cost down" measures) to the local market even when I said I want to top up for them (overseas market has a car configurator where you can select the optional extras). Fuel consumption wise, I think something is a bit off. I drive a F30 320i, between Setia Alam (where the video was shot), to KLCC, a mix of highway and crawling traffic, and I get anywhere from 14.0 km/per L to 17 km/ per L. The PHEVs would be better. My Prius gets me 19-21 km/per L for the same router and traffic conditions.
But how reliable is the Passat? Electronic and DSG problems? Lots of repair? Any can comment on this?

Still the 330e for me, best balance between value, brand image and driving pleasure. Personally driven one myself and it is by far the most compelling plug-in hybrid I have ever drove.
Yeah, I would pick 330e over any of this car... If it would be at least half as reliable as lexus

Without charge, the C350e has same engine outputs as the C250 (211 hp and 350 Nm), but with 300 kg more to carry...

I was hoping for a head to head of the c350e vs 330e vs passat gte! Here in the Netherlands the passat gte is very popular due to tax cuts and benefits. However since January 2017 phevs are not relevant anymore. I enjoyed the video! Thanks guys.

Good comparison video. For the drag race test, was any of the cars on sports mode etc? For example the BMW would have launch control to get off the line faster (but with warning...that it will cause premature wear and tear!)
Very good comparisons 👍🏻 . Both 3 cars are actually good and even if u bring along the Audi A4 as well . All of them has their own weaknesses and strengths , but its only minor thing . It is just every car brands has its own different class and style . Depends on people preferences .

Passat is of the size of E-class and 5-series. If you really compare the price there, 200K budget will do alot of justification for the Passat.
They should compare it with E200 and 520i (since 3 of them are fully running petrol and the powerfulness of engine is almost the same)

Good video guys! I bought a 330e (Sport with adaptive suspension) back in March and after 9k miles I've been very pleased with it as an everyday driver car. Only downside is the excessive noise from the run flat tyres on our poor quality British roads, though I will switch to winter tyres next month which should be quieter. Real world electric driving range is only 18 miles for my daily commute. If I ordered another one I'd consider the M sport as the chassis is good but not as precise as I like. To sum up, it's a competent car, but at the weekends the car we always drive is my wife's Macan, which whilst an SUV is more fun the drive.

Out of the trio, I pick the BMW 330e. The 3 Series has the real driving sensation, decent build quality, and great looks.
Mercedes is the one to consider for a pleasant ride.

As a C300 owner myself (in Malaysia, that is), I do agree that the Mercedes is lovely inside out. One thing that really bothers me though is the lack of Driving Assistance Package Plus (which adds autonomous driving aids as well as crucial safety features such as rear-end collision prevention, radar cruise control with traffic jam assist, active lane keep assist, active blind spot assist, cross traffic alert and pedestrian detection). In where I live now (Australia), this package is standard on C250s and above. After having used Distronic Plus on my W213 here in city traffic on a daily basis, I can safely say that such driving aids greatly reduce driving fatigue and stress. With these aids, I even managed to drive from Melbourne to Sydney nonstop (10 hours, with just toilet breaks and a 10 minute lunch break). Radar cruise control helped a lot, and lane keep assist was particularly useful by the time nightfall came.

Same here. These driving aids (my car has lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control) are very useful and reduce fatigue, besides the added safety. It's mind boggling that Mercedes isn't selecting these options for the Malaysian market... they aren't very expensive, especially considering how expensive the car is. Instead they bring useless stuff like leather, big rims and the sporty exterior package (which adds nothing at all to the car but is very expensive).

Even though that i really love the BMW and i my dad still has the 2014 525d here in Thailand. I think i’m gonna go with the C350e AMG Dynamic.
I like the Premium looks from interior and also exterior for the Mercedes
But don’t get me wrong. The 3 series BMW is still fun as hell to drive.
Another round up comprise of persona vs city vs cerato pls,all are almost in the same pricepoint..i wont put elantra there as it punches civic in the midrange class now
100km realistic range, that is all i need in my day to day activities.
Sadly none of those cars can deliver. They should build a serial hybrid with a 1cylinder piston engine which only works as a generator for sustained long range driving and a battery that covers all the shorthaul driving.
BTW, how much is it actually to replace one of those air springs on the Mercedes? I think this piece of info is crucial when it comes to making decision.
