Silence is such a slow-burning masterpiece. The cinematography is breathtaking. And Adam Driver and Andrew Garfield gave some amazing performacs in this movie
As a believer in the christian faith....this film did numbers on me...I couldn't stop thinking about it...it challenged me and in a good way and for that I will always have a deep appreciation for this film....thank you again for the video your going places
A modern masterpiece that deserves more attention. This film’s powerful themes and overall story gives me a similar feeling as to when I watched 12 Years a Slave or Platoon for the first time. I love it so much.
I think this might be the best film I've ever seen. A beautiful and haunting reflection on culture, religion, communication, and Human Nature. And a testament that the conflicts between men are not so much caused by "religion" or different beliefs, but in Human's inability to contemplate other people's points of view. It's all our Ego's doing. It's simply Human Nature. And this message is further explored through the fact that the movie takes no stand on either side. It portrays both the beauty and the ugliness in Christianity and Buddhism. though the ugliness comes often from extremism, which should be obvious. But above all things, it proves something that I believed for a long time: Scorsese's best films are the ones that aren't about Gangsters. Don't get me wrong, love most of his films, but I feel like he never gets out of his comfort zone when doing gangsters films (it sure felt that way even in The Irishman). It is when he does films that challenge him as a director that masterpieces are born. And even he knew this would be a challenge. He planned on doing this movie for 30 years. But this is, to me, his best Masterpiece :')
Just a incredible movie about religion, ego and love. One of the best movies from Scorsese to me. Great video!!! I hope someday be able to help you in the Patreon. You deserve it!!!
This film is a Masterpiece! One of Scorsese's Best Achievements! It got heavily snubbed by AN Academy in my personal opinion, only one Nomination... Pfff
Fantastic montage again! This is one of the most beautiful films directed by Scorsese. I would love to see The Beauty of: Punch-Drunk Love Cinema Paradiso Blue Velvet The Last Temptation of Christ
I have been binge watching these videos all day, they’re so beautiful! I would totally recommend for you to check out films from the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali - Devdas, Bajirao Mastani, Saawariya, Padmavaat and Ram-Leela are some of his films that have gorgeous cinematography and visuals.
Ayy instead of using the theme from The last samurai, the whole video could've been silent with Ambient noises like a steady blow of wind and rain. Could've suited the title more. "SILENCE". Huge fan of the channel btw.
I love the repetitive motif that sunlight represents the presence of God. So on days where there is no sun we see the faith of his followers in the movie be tested by the metaphoric lack of God within the shot itself. This isn’t always consistent but that may just be due to me missing something or that the cinematographer/Scorsese did this subconsciously without knowing and so hence lighted a few scenes where this doesn’t happen at all.

Pada pandangan aku lah ya, filem ni memang merupakan antara filem yang paling menangkap dari segi visual pada tahun 2016. Walaupun aku tak de lah beberapa nak paham isi² tersirat cerita ni, aku still boleh enjoy sebab visuals dia memang terboek beb! Apa-apa pun, keeps it up the good work.
great video as alwaysss! i hope you one day make one of the leftovers, i don't know if you've watched that show. i can imagine how you'd edit a cool video of it

Nah , i don't think this movie is underrated
@@mariospaguetti8103 this movie is not nearly talked about as much as it should be
@@arpyx8707
It just wasn’t seen by many people
Most of the people who saw it thought it was great.
It didn’t make any money
@@arpyx8707because it’s very tough subject relatively few people deal with these issues
Definitely the most gorgeous film in Scorsese's entire filmography, beautiful tribute.
Raging Bull?
@Movies Comics Not compared to this.
@@visualsforyou7120 perhaps. Also did you reply that twice. Because I got it the first time
@Movies Comics Yeah haha, I never like it when my comments have the (edited) thing for such simple stuff. I just wanted to add a period.

This film is timeless.
One of the best Scorsese's movies. With Taxi Driver and The Irishman, it has the best cinematography.
I'm not a religious person at all. But this film made me inexpressibly emotional. And both Andrew and Adam were phenomenal.
Well, if we're already on Scorcese, how about The Beauty of Shutter Island?
Already tried, but not enough material unfortunately
@@TheBeautyOf Hm, that is unfortunate, but ah well..
I’d really like to see the beauty of hugo
I wish Silence had its own background score.

You should re-upload this with the Film's Score. Both deserve the exposure. Plus it better suits the film.
