The more flies you tie, the more fish you catch with them and the vise people will beat a path to your door to get you to tie with their vise. Keep on tying, keep on fishing and hopefully good things will come your way. Good luck, Ron C Ruskin FL
From a 50 plus year fly-fisherman and tyer, I commend you on your videos. Patterns are neat and clean. Your KB Bonefish favorite is one of my go-to’s. I was tying something very similar for years, but your tutorial gave me a few new ideas. I have not done any ditch fishing in South Florida. The urban environment is a turnoff to some people. But, in my homewaters of PA, my friends and I catch alot of beautiful trout in urban fisheries- some monsters. Featuring these areas makes people more aware of the importance of restoring and preserving them. I am heading down there in a few weeks and will twist up a few of these, head to the closest ditch, and see what happens! Keep up the good work!!👍🏻
I’m cruising thru your vids , and this one I enjoyed, now I watch a lot of fly tying vids but one thing I really liked it was the point and cool back ground music , going to be tying up a bunch in different colors , blk-red, blk - purple, and blk- blk , great vid , make more 👍🏼
Hey Eric Nice fly, and a nice fish. I noticed that your hook kept slipping in your vise. I have two of them, both of them I have had a hook slipping problem. I have 17 or 18 vises, I have two Danvise and the hook does not slip. I bought 10 or so about 20 years plus ago when I taught fly tying. I gave all away and kept two for myself. I tie about 5 to 6 hours a day up here in Ruskin FL and I change vises from time to time, but always go back to the Danvise. I started tying in 1949 in PA. and still tie to this day for a lot of shops and guides. Keep the tying up and good luck down south. Ron C Ruskin FL
Oh wow, 17 or 18 is a lot! haha. I just signed a contract with Dyna-King as an ambassador and will be switching to only tying on Dyna-King vises. Their new vises are said to be one of the best ever made. Time will tell, and I will definitely give my opinion on the vise here shortly. That's why I haven't made any fly tying videos lately, waiting for the new vise to be ready.
Hey Eric I had two of them. I still have one a Ron Abby Signature Vise, I got that one years ago from his daughter who was working there at the time. I had a sidewinder for a while, but I kept having problems with getting the jaws the way I wanted them. I have a bad habit of tying a size 12 and the next one might be a 4 or a 2/0. I am the culprit, but I don't like to admit it. I really have no problems with the Danvise. It is inexpensive, but I can change hooks at times without any adjustments. I wish you luck with your new choice and hopefully it will suit you just fine. So, from me to you, good luck in your new venture. Ron C Ruskin FL
Thank you Ron! it's my first "Expensive" Vise. I've only ever had the cheap $20 one, A hand me-down that I had held together with JB Weld, this Peak Vise my Wife got me for my birthday a few years ago. Now the new Dyna-King should be cool. We will see, haha!
I ordered a fly rod and started to watch fly fishing vids and I found you! coincidentally I live in miami and I know that fishing spot as well! hope i can catch a tarpon on fly one day!
Yeah looked like an epic spot. Love you work man videos are always on point. Cinematic as! My channel is a bit of a different style but your do inspire me a bit ;) Followed you since the 5# chronicles lol.
Hey Eric Let me know how you like your new vise after you tie a bit on it. I am curious about the jaw settings. Will you be able to go from a size 8 to a size 1/0 without too much adjusting. Ron C Ruskin FL

definitely subbed too bro. i know a spot that has massive tarpon but they don't bite!
Good stuff as always
Nice. I tie similar small fly using kiptail in various colors.
Awesome man great video thanks for the shout out 🎨🤙🏼🎣
You need to come down and fish again once this all blows over.
Agreed man.. definitely makes me regret not doing it more often.
Nice job
Another great video
Nice bro. Not the most scenic spot but man I wouldn’t complain. Sick edit
haha, it's scenic, in a different way. It grows on you, when you experience the fishery; so many tarpon.

You ever tie this fly with a polar fiber tail? 🎣
I have, but it's not quite as effective on tarpon. I do a very similar pattern using polar fiber tail and beadchain eyes for bonefish.
Finally got all the materials today. Going to tie a minnow and a minnow gurgler with the stuff. Pesky poons 😅🎣👊
How many apples did that guy eat that day lololol. Nice tie bro..it seems to me these simple Lil Flys work the best
😂 Simple Flies that Work!
Another nice clean edit man....
Thanks, man.
What vice do you use
In this video I was using a peak vise. But I have since replaced it. I will be making a video all about vises soon.
What nippers were those?
what camera u using?
Nikon Z6, I have it linked in the description to the amazon link.
man, i went to that spot and it was loaded with tarpon but didn't land not one 😂
Hahaha, yeah. It ain't an easy spot to catch them.
Yo where is this at?North Miami Beach or hialeah?
Man I thought that thing was Larry king's head wig
