  • Fishing with Ryan takes on Milford Lake in Kansas for the first time. Tag along as we catch Gizzard Shad for bait, then a good-sized wiper, several average catfish, and one big Blue Catfish during our first trip out there.

I plan to buy my first boat soon and I fish tuttle and milford when I can, do you think a tracker grizzly 1860 would handle that water safely, I want a v bottom but seeing this is my first boat I think it would be good to get something with a shallower draft while I'm learning, thanks in advance, love watching your videos

Do you just blindly cast your net for bait or do you use imaging

Thanks for asking! I've found throwing the net at jumping shad is the most effective way to catch them, then I switch to using down imaging if that doesn't work/they're not really jumping. 10-15 feet is usually my sweet spot for throwing at them using the fishfinder. Blindly throwing usually just makes me tired and frustrated but it does work for me every once in a while!
