    What is your mic plugged into? ie pre, interface, compressor

    Is ML 1 better than Shure SM7B?

    • @audioedges
      @audioedges  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because the Shure SM7B is a dynamic microphone, and the ML 1 is a condenser microphone, the choice between them will depend on your room and recording environment, as well as the tone you're trying to capture. The ML 1, being a condenser, will be more sensitive to reflections in your recording environment but will provide a more detailed and crisp sound compared to the SM7B. It also offers greater versatility in microphone tones and characters.
      On the other hand, the SM7B, being a dynamic microphone, will be less susceptible to picking up room reflections while still delivering the classic tone it's known for. In summary, both microphones are excellent, and the choice depends on the specific purpose you have in mind. If you have a well-treated recording environment for vocal recording, I feel the ML 1 offers more with its microphone emulation options.
      Hope that helps! :)

      @@audioedges thanks for your time and detailed explanation, really appreciated.
      I have my small Studio setup in my Living Room, Not really treated.
      I will think about it and go for the best🙏🏽✨

    where should I leave the intensity slider .I see guys using it with minimum intensity.

      Personal preference! I like cranking it high just when choosing the mic itself (because the right mic choice becomes more obvious) and then backing it off to do some more tone shaping work in the processing.

    This might sound dumb. I just bought the mic. Plugged it into my speaker and nothing is coming out. Does it only work with the software, or can it work without the software and just plugging it in?

    • @audioedges
      @audioedges  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will work as a regular mic, too! It has a pretty neutral sound and is great quality on it's own, even without the software. Have you tried turning on phantom power (48V) on your interface? It will need the extra power as it is a condenser mic!
