One thing I'd like is if Cyber Link would adopt the motto, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". That being said, I've had really good results using it for my You Tube videos. Could you possibly do a video showing how to use a second monitor for full screen on one monitor and the timeline on the other. It's got me flummoxed. Thanks for your very helpful videos.

I was confused and totally unable to understand the word flummoxed. :-)
But about a video showing how to use a second monitor..... I'm hesitant to go down that route because its more of an operating system demonstration rather than dealing directly with Power Director.
Yes, I agree, its a great idea to put the timeline on one monitor all by itself especially when you are creating videos that have 5 or more tracks. Otherwise, the only choice to keep them all in view comes at the expense of the real estate for the preview window and the library window.
Hmmm....I'm also wondering what happens during a screen recording while creating the video. Maybe one has to capture the screen twice, one for each monitor. I know a few other TH-cam creators that have 4 and 5 monitors but their videos are all live so they don't have that problem.

I also miss the checkbox "Shut down computer after production" that previously was on the production screen.

Ah, I forgot about that one. But I always wondered just who does that anymore. I never turn off the computer over night. Maybe if I'm gone for three days or longer. So, I can't say that I will miss that one.

Thanks for this video. I thought I did something wrong when that export box was different. I wasn't sure what to do. But I saw the new sparkle titles and I REALLY liked them!

Yeah, me too. After the update, I was just checking things out when I clicked on Export and then that new window opened up. I immediately thought, "Oh oh, what did I just click on by mistake."

THANK YOU ! for solving my lost Volume Control in the Edit environment (@4:00) ... Wow! I looked and looked for a fix...
All kinds of problems with audio levels before you saved me. For example, take a clip to AudioDirector, volume is "normal" bring it back to PD and it's too LOW again... (the default volume level on FullScreen was set waaay to low)
    I appreciate your help!
Cyberlink needs to fix this --- get the volume control BACK on the Preview Area!
    Thank you!

With the missing Volume Control icon for playback, I've memorized the keyboard shortcut of CTRL-U to adjust the volume.
Today I thought I was having a real problem because there was yet another update from Cyberlink (dated 05-27) but apparently this was a bug-swat update as I didn't see or notice anything changed. However, I suddenly had no volume at all in PowerDirector. Of course, I first tried CTRL-U but that was set to about mid-way. I checked Windows volume controls and everything was normal. I even rebooted but still had no sound in PowerDirector. What now? Was there a major problem and the update that I had just installed had its own major problem?
Then something else jumped out at me. If you go to the Playback menu from the top menus, there is the "Adjust System Volume (CTRL-U)" as expected, but I also noticed the "Mute/Mute Off (CTRL-Backspace)" right underneath it. Could my program somehow have been muted?
I hit CTRL-Backspace and the volume returned to normal. I don't know if I somehow hit CTRL-Backspace by mistake or it the update somehow brought the revised program back in a muted state.
I don't know who is guilty, me or Cyberlink. And the computer ain't talking.

I dont like how you can't drop files directly into the project anymore. Now, you have to go to import and go through the menu. I remember when you could drop it in from any menu. Then, they made you drag and drop just on the media menu. And now, you cant do it at all. And i still get some annoying bug that when I add transitions, it distorts my voice until I change the volume of the original audio I am dubbing over. Wish they would fix that and revert to letting us drag and drop from an external folder directly into the project.

I have always been "too organized" in that I usually assemble all the video, images, and audio clips ahead of time into a project folder. I then start PowerDirector and import that folder. That gives me everything I need in the Media Library to create my finished masterpiece. Well, I say "all the video..." but in reality there are usually a few extra things I like to throw in at the last minute. I then place a copy of them in the project folder and import back in PowerDirector. It sounds like a lot of work but the good thing is that it keeps everything together all in one place.
I don't think I ever tried dragging and dropping directly onto the timeline or the media library so after reading your comment I gave it a try. It works without any problems. I can drop video, images, or audio either directly onto the media library or directly onto the timeline. If dropped onto the timeline, it creates a reference copy in the media library.
So Cyberlink did not take this feature away. It is still there. I have no idea why it is not working on your installation but something must be wrong somewhere.
Be aware that when dropping media into PowerDirector directly from various storage locations on your system, the file location properties remain unchanged. That means if you are working on a project that includes an image from "D:\downloaded files" but at some point in time before your project is complete, you go into that storage location and rename the files you are using or move them to a different location, then when you try to restart your project in PowerDirector, it will not be able to locate and load those files. And then some people want to blame PowerDirector thinking that it gets the project and the files all screwed up when in reality it was the user that caused that problem. That is why it is best to move a copy of whatever files you want to use in the project into a special project file and load only those files into PowerDirector. If you ever happen to move or rename the original files then that will not affect your project folder or PowerDirector.
Try it again. If it still doesn't work on your system, you might want to try two things. Re-install PowerDirector and make sure it is updated to the latest version. If still not working, contact Cyberlink Support for help.

I don't know whether the update was different for a Mac (which I use) rather than Windows, but I can still drag and drop files
