If you check for updates from within the program, it always lies. Its broken and Cyberlink has yet to fix it. Use only the Cyberlink Application Manager to check for updates.

Yes, I think it is a jewel. I especially like the opportunity to download the short .TXT file and any music track which gives the exact attribution that one can copy and paste right into the video notes on TH-cam.

I just checked and they have indeed put up a second update for this month. The version numbers indicate that date of release. In this case, the latest update was released January 3rd (that the 13 numbers. I'm not sure what the 06 could be, perhaps time of day. And just for everybody to realize, we are using version 23 sometimes called the 2025 release. Its a little unusual for there to be a second update. Sounds to me as if something major must have been broken and they needed to fix it right away. I'll install that latest update to see if I can tell any differences. I'm wondering if it didn't have anything to do with the Talking Avatar because that was featured prominently on their web page but was suddenly removed on the day that I created my video. Thanks for spotting the new version number in spite of my video "January Update".

I should have also added that HEVC better known as H.265 has been there in PowerDirector for some time. It utilizes a better file compression but is not universally accepted. For example, place a HEVC encoded video file on a flash drive, stick it into your TV, and the odds are that your TV won't recognize the file whereas the H.264 format has almost universal compatibility.

I assume that you are not talking about the speech added to the Talking Avatars (see video number 101) but rather your own voice on top of any other video clip, commonly referred to as "voice over". There are several ways to accomplish it, all depending upon which way you prefer. Within PowerDirector you can record your voice by clicking on Media at the top, then the "Record" button which is just above the Media Library window right next to the "Import" button. From that "Record" button you can choose to record from a webcam and choose your mic input (this records audio and video). If you don't want to use to webcam with its somewhat inferior mic, you can also choose to record a voice-over as your video clips on the timeline plays (this adds a WAVE file on a track below the video clips). You can also use the Cyberlink Screen Recorder app to record audio and video. This creates a a video clip with audio that you can add to the timeline and then just unlink the audio and video and then delete the video that was recorded leaving you with just the audio. This is the method that I use for the time being. You can also record using the new Sound Recorder in Win11 (or the old Voice Recorder in Win10). There are also a multitude of 3rd party apps that will record your voice that will create a WAVE or M4A audio file which you can add to the PowerDirector timeline. I think maybe I should do a video about this concept so thanks for asking. Hope this answers your question for now.

It took a little bit more editing than I expected. The first avatar from synthesia.io was supposed to have more control over pauses and speed but the finished result was just a fast talking avatar. I had to record the screen movements to match the fast talking. Glad you like it.

I also noticed that and it was checked by default which is a good thing. I wasn't too sure if that was new in this update or if it happened last month. Nice to see that Cyberlink fixed that little oversight.

Most crashes from any video editing program are attributed to an old or misconfigured video driver. If that's the case, you crashes will follow you right into DaVinci. Good luck to ya.

@@Baldy-1 I've got an Asus ProArt PX 13 now , that should be fine fir any editing software. I just don't need all the titles , effects etc .... I rather spend the $80 for a Epidemic Sound subscription ..... but that's just my opinion

Care to elaborate on what issues? The so-called 2025 version which was released in September had some minor changes to the Export interface but beyond that, no problems of which I am aware. There are a few specialty image formats found on a few upscale camcorders which produce a file format that is not compatible with PowerDirector. The specs for video file import can be seen at www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdirector-video-editing-software/specs_en_US.html. If you bought a camera that has a spec not supported by a video editing program, then don't blame the program for having issues. With enough requests for support for a certain format, Cyberlink will eventually add that element into the specs. But they won't invest the programming time for a specialty format that makes up less than 1% of the market.

No, let's not hope for more content. PowerDirector is already bloated with fonts, titles, transitions, and stickers. Instead, let's hope they fix some of the interface problems that have been mentioned for the past year or two. So far all we get is the usual "your request has been sent to the programming team....."

#67a was the "Erased Song" version of #67. This erasing of a song on a posted video was all done by TH-cam and not by Cyberlink. You would not need to be concerned about it unless your posted video included a music track that violated copyright laws and TH-cam gave you a notice about it. One of the ways of fixing the situation is to use their Erase Song feature which is supposed to remove the audio of the offending music. When I created my video #67, I intentionally talked while the Three Stooges Theme (which is copyrighted) was playing so that I could find out if the Erase Song feature affected my voice over the music. The short answer is that it did not affect the voice over. However, as stated in the video, it left a few strange pops and clicks even when there was no voice over at the time. The video elements on the screen have nothing to do with the intent of the video. I was just being silly and showing a bunch of the Chinese art work that Cyberlink sends to all of us with the updates.

You misunderstood me. In your case, you were suppose to make a comment before you watched the video. Just like my reply here. It was entered before you made this comment. I am always one step ahead of you. I've got my eye on you. 👁️

That's something that typical of many Windows apps. Most put hooks onto the data file while it is open or in use to prevent a user from deleting it or modifying it. Sometimes the file could be in the midst of being shared or modified by another user. Without those hooks, chaos could erupt. But PD does claim most of its data files for its own exclusive use while it is running. And the program is very capable of allowing the user to delete certain files. Why Cyberlink didn't have the brains to put the "Delete from Disk" choice on AI Image files is inexcusable. It allows the deletion for most titles and overlays.

Yes, I agree that there are lot of image generators out there with some of them producing high quality images. And the price varies quite a bit amongst all those various sources. The supposedly "Free" ones either severely limit the quality or quantity of the free ones unless you opt-in for some type of paid plan. With PowerDirector its easy to get at least 33 images a month for free or up to 63 if you click the magic gift icon every day for those extra credits. And I'm having no problems with the quality of the images being produced.

You must have purchased the Director Suite 365 which includes PowerDirector, Photo Director, ad Audio Director. I sometimes think that Cyberlink's advertising make people believe that these 3 programs are all inter-twined when in fact they have practically no direct links with one another. They are all 3 stand alone programs. Both Photo Director and Audio Director are very capable programs but as you have found out, there are other suitable applications out there at a much more reasonable price. You do not have to renew your 365 subscription to the Suite which I suspect Cyberlink is probably trying to bill you for $134.99 fee for the upcoming renewal. If you are not using the Photo and Audio Director programs that much and rely on other applications, I would be very much tempted to NOT renew the subscription for the Suite. What that would mean is that all 3 programs would continue to run but would not get any updates. Then, I would suggest you jump on a new subscription to PowerDirector 365 (not for the Suite) for only $54.99 right now. In that manner, you would still be using the updated versions of PowerDirector and for a lot less money than the Suite. I'm not exactly sure how that would work on the program installation on your system but I believe you will end up with a new serial number for PowerDirector. Which I think it would be best for you to un-install your current version of PowerDirector so that the new one installs properly. You might be best to talk to support or billing on how to best effect this change. HTH

I just tried to delete some images from My Creations and it works fine for me. I'm using the latest December update, I open "Image Generator AI" and then click on the option to use Text Prompt. From here, I can click on the button My Creations to see all the horrible images that I've created. If you want to delete just one image, right click on it and select "Delete Selected Photos". Notice that as soon as you right click on any image, a small rectangle with a check mark in it appears in the upper left corner. If you want to delete multiple images, just hover over any additional images and click on the small rectangle. When you have checked all that you want to delete, then right click on any of them and select "Delete Selected Photos.". For what its worth, PD stores these masterpieces at "C:\Users\Public\CyberLink\Downloaded AIImages Creation" but I recommend you use the program to delete any images. The new December update seems to have added separate folders for both the "text to image" and "Face + Text to Image" methods. These folders use a .JSON file to describe and maintain the folder contents. PD reads these .JSON files to load the thumbnails into the program display so unless you know how to revise the .JSON file, just let the program handles those details. HTH

It was PD365 and because it was created 11 months ago, that would make it the 2024 edition. Within the video, I even identify the version of PD as the 365 version.

They ( meaning Cyberlink) do have a simple transition template. Its called the FADE transition. But I agree with your assessment of the slideshows, they all seem to be overly fancy. I've always said the easiest and best slideshow is one you create yourself. Just drag down all the images to the timeline, set a uniform duration, and then chose one simple transition and apply using the "apply to all" option.

That's when you realize the AI background remover is just Cyberlink's quick and easy solution to jump onto the AI bandwagon. My suggestion is to utilize any of multiple online sources that will do it for free and do a much better job.
