    Namaste everybody! My name is Sean & welcome to episode 1 of the powerdirector video editing tutorial series! In this first episode we go over the "beginner basics" by breaking down the main workspace of powerdirector into 3 easy simple sections, just to make the program more comfortable to understand! Next, we navigate through the user interface & briefly go over the "timeline, preview/playback window, the media library, room manager, the basic functions of each room, their elements, & finish off with the production page to save videos!

      Great video! I'm new to PowerDirector and am struggling with certain things about the time line (intro and outro options, versus using "title"). Also, I had a 2.5 hour video which needed to be trimmed in many places, so I did all of that and kept it on the same track. Now when I want to move the whole track, I'm 'selecting' each video clip...not sure if there's an easier way. So a video about these basic functions would be great! Thanks.

    Hey, thanks for the tutorial. I'm planning to buy this video editor and came across your video. So far, this video was a good intro and I look forward to more as I need a guide to use this new software and I've subscribed. I don't have right now a specific subject that I would like you to cover but a general, overview of the software's capabilities would suffice so that I can know how to navigate and make use of the main tools. Thanks again!

    hey there, I'm not sure if you plan on continuing to cover this topic, but I found this really useful. Could you cover subtitiles please? I can't find information anywhere on how to mass move subtitles or delete large sections and having it line up with the dialogue it's driving me nuts. Please continue with this, your video is the only one that made any sense to me

    Awesome Video 👍 Question, I have a elgato 60-S capture card and a external Webcam hoping to make a movie in movie video of game play and commentary. Is it possible to capture/record from the external capture card (game play) and the external USB Webcam (video of myself playing the game) at the same time, with PowerDirector 21? Something similar to other lets plays with a mini window in the lower bottom of the screen. Thanks!

    • @SNW4Real

      Hey man! Thank you so much! I am glad to hear you enjoyed the video I really appreciate it & I am super grateful! 🙏🏼🔥 Yes it is possible but there are a few steps involved & I also have a suggestion that may make things a lot easier! First off, if you want to record everything through powerdirector specifically, hit the capture button in the top left under the "file" menu (or alt+f9 on your keyboard) & it should take you to the capture menu in powerdirector next, by default you will be in the "record from a webcam" menu & here you can configure settings, select your device, etc. Secondly for your capture card, you want to go to the 4th button in the capture menu that says "record from an external or optical device" & you should be able to capture that content there! Last but not least I honestly I have no idea if you can record both sources simultaneously in powerdirector but I know you can definitely record from one individual source with no problems at all! With all of this being said I would highly recommend & suggest NOT to record/do everything through powerdirector because it may not be smooth & you do not really have that much control! instead I would highly recommend "obs-studio," it is 100% free and it is made to record, stream, you can configure all of the settings you could possibly ever want, in addition to recording (from) multiple sources at once for as long as you want as long as your equipment can handle it! It is what I use personally to record all of my videos & I definitely think it would be easier & better for you to use especially in the long run, but feel free to experiment with different methods to see what works best for you & your recording setup! Thanks again for the support & I hope this helps out 🙏🏼🔥

    Hi Sean
    I hope all is good with you.
    It's Keith I spoke with you before.
    One quick question if I may.
    When I'm in the timeline and I make several cuts
    And I go to remove one section.
    When I click remove it asks you if you want to leave Gap or move all clips Etc
    Several times when I click on move all clips
    They don't all snap back together they leave a gap.
    Am I doing something wrong or do you know of a reason for this ?
    Thanks. Keith

    • @SNW4Real
      @SNW4Real  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Keith! No worries at all, when you are trimming your videos it can be tricky sometimes & if certain things are not aligned/organized properly (due to previous edits) in the track manager it can leave these annoying gaps. I have two videos videos planned about the track manager & trimming basics to address situations like this, in the meantime you can select "leave gap" and manually drag & align the clips while holding "left-click" on the mouse! Hope this helps 🙏🏼🔥

    One question please.
    I was putting together a 5-minute video the other day.
    I scooted a couple clips together to do a crossfade.
    The screen went gray and said please wait.
    I waited for 10 to 15 minutes. It never did straighten out.
    So I closed out the program and restarted it.
    Of course as you know it says would you like to recover your project and I said yes.
    The project was recovered but I was wondering why did this happen ?
    It is only happened twice only during a crossfade.
    Thanks.
    Keith

    • @SNW4Real
      @SNW4Real  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey again Keith! Two answers to this question & no worries it is nothing major! First off, I have encountered this issue personally as well specifically with adding transitions/crossfades & I believe it is an issue with current builds of powerdirector because in 18-20, personally I never had any issues until I upgraded to 21. Secondly, the gray screen with the prompt saying "please wait" sounds like a result of high cpu or ram (memory) usage &/or out of date graphics drivers. Try updating your graphics drivers manually or through a windows/pc update (if any are pending) & to double check your power usage, go to the task manager on your computer & look under the "performance" tab while you are in powerdirector 21! If powerdirector is using a lot of power, try changing some settings like "timeline fps" in general settings & the "preview resolution" in the playback window for a smoother editing session! You can also try running the optimization test for your graphics card as that can help as well! Hope this helps 🙏🏼🔥

      I truly appreciate your reply. I am not going to sweat this little issue.
      But it is nice to know I'm not alone when something like that happens and it also happened to you.
      I purchased 21 ultimate. I really like power director a lot.
      Thanks again I will continue to be watching your videos.

    Is there an edit program, that does not have this complicated timeline multi layer system. I just want a one video source that I can watch full screen. Just be able to trim shots without getting lost. I have looked at the Final Cuts, This one, Imovie, Vegas they are all the same and all complicated.

    • @SNW4Real
      @SNW4Real  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey man! No worries at all! It is super simple to get rid of the sample clips once and for all! Just go to the main powerdirector 21 folder (you can search it in the file explorer) & inside you want to look for a folder called "sample clips." Trash it & you should be all set! I would also highly recommend making a copy of the "sample clips" folder and moving it to another location on your pc, just in case you have any launch issues in the future & you need to restore them! Hope this helps 🙏🏼🔥

    How can I do a video inset of a TH-cam video that I would like to react on? So the video I’m reacting on I want it to be in a smaller window while viewers can see me in the larger window.

    • @SNW4Real

      Hey man! Great question & this is actually super easy to do! All that is needed are 2 seperate video tracks, one track with the video you are reacting to & the 2nd track with the video of yourself and then some resizing or cropping of each track! Honestly it is easy to do but there are a lot of steps to list in a comment 😂 I can upload a tutorial showcasing how to arrange the videos including a few more details & tricks in the next few days if you like 🙏🏼🔥
