Great video. The Plaid Model S base price is currently $130K, but different paint colors, interiors, wheels, tires can add more to the price. Also Full Self Driving is a $10K option. I ordered my Model S long range in February when it had a base price of $80K. With premium paint and interior and Full Self Driving, the cost went up to about $93K. It was delivered at the end of September. During the course of the year, there were price increases so now the base price is $95K. The Plaid Model S also had price increases (I think $10K) over the year. I am guessing that Sandy's Plaid may have the $10K FSD option, making the cost $140K. Looks like it has the standard paint and interior and probably the standard wheels.
As of today - 12/10/21, the Tesla website says the Plaid can be delivered in December 2021 (this month), while the Long Range has a delivery date of November 2022 (not quite a year out).

Doesn't Infiniti have steer by wire on some models?
The 2004 E60 BMW 5-Series with Active Steering option had a ratio that varies based on speed, through an electric motor on the worm gear, yet maintains a direct mechanical connection (not steer-by-wire).
The episode was so good, I had to watch it over again!.
Can't wait to follow the trip.
Thank you, Sandy.
This is like a Christmas Special. I know I am not alone in wanting to see Sandy with the Plaid Model S. I hope I am able to meet up with you guys when you hit my town. ATL will love to have you.
Spectacular! Hope to catch y’all in the Boston area during this trip! So glad I could help just a touch with a sticker purchase! The tear-down will be epic - and a bit sad, too! Safe travels, folks!
Can’t wait to see more episodes!
Incredible test-drive! This is exactly the color scheme I'd get if I were to get one. Who knows...maybe in a few years if I don't go for the Roadster 2.0. It's a personal jet and roller coaster!
It's gonna be great to see Corey and Sandy doing some launches with people in that thing.
2 legends together, youtube is not big enough.
was not expecting McElroy on here.
I guess it’s only right that John is on Monro Live. I first saw Sandy on Autoline.
Thanks Munro Live!!
10:34 The frunk is where I put my pizza when I go pick some up. That way the cabin doesn't smell like pizza for a few days afterwards 😂.
Love Sandy! You too John.
John is great! I was hoping Sandy would bring him in on this. Fun fact, the first time I ever saw Sandy was on John’s show where Sandy was discussing the model 3 tear down. I’ve been a fan of both guys ever since. (You can find John on Autoline)
Totally Agree! Thanks!
That's the American tech at its best.
This is the only most expensive car I would take a loan for. Awesome
So excited. Glad its finally here. I started watching every video since the first model y tear down, and haven't stopped
I've taken a break for the N***** series. No interest in that on a y level.
Back now.
@@rogerstarkey5390 it was an interesting series. I will say there was more real stuff than anyone would think. And I respect the Munro team and what they say about stuff. I am still curious how they can possibly overcome the crap from trevor and his bs
Thanks guys. So fun to watch you both get so exited.
"We haven't torn it apart yet." That sums up this channel.
I suspect at the end of the roadtrip it will be "can we find a way NOT to tear it apart?"
@@rogerstarkey5390 I bet they are just gonna visit Ingineerix and have a look around his Plaid parts... The Plaid isn't that much different from the older Model S apart from the motor and battery... (E.g. I bet they won't make a destructive teardown lol)
2 of my favorite TH-camrs in the same video! Awesome!
Not familiar at all with John but I appreciated his enthusiasm and articulate commentary. He praised the car but also noted items he didn't like; well balanced first impressions.
He was a tennis player in the 80's
/S
He is one of the best at what he does (auto reporting), and still doing it, although his son (very similar voice) has largely taken over his long running show (Autoline Daily) and has been known for telling it straight. I wouldn't expect any less into his twilight years...
Very happy to see John in this video.
