Beside it is the World Heritage Site and rather long being studied and explored for its Megadiversity for flora and fauna. Next visit, make sure you make to make a booking to ascend the mt. to explore her uniqueness and to record the very own senaries along the rout to the top. You made it to sosodikon hill and there are more viving point and places of interest. Just interesting recording of your experience...

if you go from tenom, keningau, ranau and kundasng each roundabout have different fruits or vegetables. thats what the place is famous for like in kundasang it is one of the place to get cabbage because of the temperature. tenom coffee if i'm not mistaken.LOL at Tim's toungue twisting pronounciation hahaha. The mountain ,according to the natives, is sacred with dead soul of their people. One day several years ago, a group of western tourists strip naked at the summit. 1 week after that, a tremor occurred bringing bolders and rocks down killing some teachers, potters and Singaporean school children. I think now they disallow children from climbing the mountain. Btw, it takes 2 days to reach the summit. To avoid AMS, they will spend the night at laban rata lodge. Climbers are Europeans and asians. Not many Americans know about mount kinabalu.

You guys might want to read about the mount kinabalu earthquake that happened in 2015. Few days before the earthquake, there's a group of western climbers striped and urinating on top of the mountain, it was clearly disrespectful towards the mountain as it was a sacred place for locals. Maybe the mountain got angry and boom 5.9 magnitude. Lost 18 souls. Most of them were school kids 😢😢 small earthquake still happen everyday for about 3 months after the earthquake.

I climbed Kinabalu a few years ago. I never felt so waterproof in the 8 hours rain hiking. Love this video. Brought back memories.

The local council better start repairing the concrete pavement as it is dangerous with landslides and potholes.

Kota Kinabalu also has an island for tourists, but there is also another part of the island inhabited by Filipino illegal immigrants
