I have lived in the middle of a mangrove forest for almost 4 years (since early 2020 when the first Covid outbreak) in West Kalimantan. my cottage is 750 m from the nearest river. If you want to go to the village, you can only go by canoe or motorized boat. During that time I never went to the city (Pontianak). I also have a house in Pontianak, only the guard lives in it
It's very pleasant to live in the middle of the mangrove forest. The atmosphere is calm and around there are many types of birds, monkeys, civets, squirrels, otters, jungle cats, proboscis monkeys and monitor lizards. When I shop for daily necessities in the village, I don't always buy them with money, sometimes I exchange them for vegetables/fruit that I grow or for shrimp/fish/crabs harvested from the pond.

Golly, them Orange-A-Tangs are really something! The animals with the long arms, 4 hands, and a long tail make me wish I had four hands, long arms, and a long tail. Think how handy that would be while working! I watched the movie "Arachnophobia" yesterday... I would have been terrified there at night with glowing green spider eyes all around.
Definitely not a fan of a trillion little eyes staring back at us in the middle of the night lol... But it was such an amazing experience! Thanks for tuning in!

Welcome to indonesian :) I know tanjung puting i've gone there twice when i stay in lamandau and last time 2019. Normaly you can pay for short trip $120-$250 if you go to tanjung puting from kumai port before covid-19. borneo is different, everything in borneo more expensive than java and sumatra. i think you got good service. Maybe $500 it's normal rate for 2023. Maybe.idk Godbless for you

I know tanjung puting i've gone there twice when i stay in lamandau and last time 2019.
Normaly you can pay for short trip $120-$250 if you go to tanjung puting from kumai port before covid-19. borneo is different, everything in borneo more expensive than java and sumatra. i think you got good service. Maybe $500 it's normal rate for 2023. Maybe.idk
