I was bully by most of the black people at my school & neighbor. for years I was very sad, confused & mad about why people treated me this way. 33 years later I'm much happier about being biracial. I have a child from a interracial relationship and it was hard from him at school sometimes. He was told by his Black American peers that he was white because of his very fair skin tone. For a long time my son would identify with being a White American because children at a very young age only see color not ethnicity. But as he's got older he is starting to understand more of his ethnicity. Especially when he had to do a family tree and he discussed further with the elders in our family about his Native American, German, Scottish, Spanish, French and Black American ancestry.

I am in an international relationship (American-Dutch) and even though we are of the same color, a lot of the things you guys say/questions apply to us as well, because of us coming from two completely different cultural backgrounds. We definitely had to work through some cultural differences. People sometimes didn't understand, because on the outside you can't see that we are 'different' if you know what I'm saying.

I am in an interracial realtionship as well (first for me, not for him) and (we are due to get married this year), I dont see color when we are together, I am just happy to be with him. Since we are in a military community there are more interracial couples here but we still get the stares every now and then, do I care,, NO. It doesnt seem to bother either one of us. I have to admit my family seem to have an issue that I am engaged to a (white guy) but I really dont let that phase me either. He excepts me for me and he loves my kids and I love him in return. Here in New Zealand we have Maori people who are native New Zealanders. My kids are halfcast as we call it. I had people say to me in shops "is that your child" and I would say yes and they would look strange at me because I am European. Once my son brought a friend around to play for the first time when he was 8yrs and the kid said out loud "your mother is white" and I was shocked at his response. It is common here to have halfcast children of many different races but I suppose some people just can't get their heads around it.

Great video. My husband is bi-racial (White/Black) and I love the fact that he doesn't classify himself as one race. We've had many conversations about his childhood and being mixed. He is actually classified as being black on his birth certificate because his mom said that back in the day they didn't have all of the choices like they do now. He is a very fair completed man (about Ceej's complexion), so sometimes people have no clue what nationality he is. He is often mistaken for Puerto Rican. I asked him in the past if he saw himself as a black man. He always says "I am bi-racial, I am not black or white, I am both, if I were to "choose" one, that would mean that I am denying my mother or my father and it took them both to create me". Growing up, most of my relationships where with someone of the opposite race and I experienced a variety of questions and reactions, both positive and negative. Who you love is who you love and true love knows no color. Ooops, this is super long lol, I could go on forever but I won't. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, loved this tag. My husband is black a and white whereas I am black. The world is very ignorant and seeing you two is a breath of fresh air. My children have also had to learn that being themselves is most important. One of my girls is more lighter than the others and I've had several occasions that I've had to speak bluntly in regards to being her parent by teachers and being detained at the hospital after her birth because the nurses seemed to think there had been some mistake. LoL I'm older now and I am more calmer in understanding so I forgive their ignorance.

Here in New Zealand we have Maori people who are native New Zealanders. My kids are halfcast as we call it. I had people say to me in shops "is that your child" and I would say yes and they would look strange at me because I am European. Once my son brought a friend around to play for the first time when he was 8yrs and the kid said out loud "your mother is white" and I was shocked at his response. It is common here to have halfcast children of many different races but I suppose some people just can't get their heads around it.

He's quite dark (I'm Samoan) and his wife is Italian/Maori but favours her Italian side and so do their kids and when people see him out with the kids they just stare like they're trying to work out his relationship with his kids *smh*
I'm half black and half white an my boyfriend is white. We ALWAYS get starred at. We walked into Applebee's the other day and everyone at the bar turned their head and stared. I was like well damn 💀

Great video. My husband is bi-racial (White/Black) and I love the fact that he doesn't classify himself as one race. We've had many conversations about his childhood and being mixed. He is actually classified as being black on his birth certificate because his mom said that back in the day they didn't have all of the choices like they do now. He is a very fair completed man (about Ceej's complexion), so sometimes people have no clue what nationality he is. He is often mistaken for Puerto Rican. I asked him in the past if he saw himself as a black man. He always says "I am bi-racial, I am not black or white, I am both, if I were to "choose" one, that would mean that I am denying my mother or my father and it took them both to create me". Growing up, most of my relationships where with someone of the opposite race and I experienced a variety of questions and reactions, both positive and negative. Who you love is who you love and true love knows no color. Ooops, this is super long lol, I could go on forever but I won't. Thanks for sharing.

Im black and my husband white we have been together for 9yrs and we have had A LOT to over come our family on both sides didn't like it i lost a lot of friend over it but i see it as youre not really a friend if you have a problem with who im in love with. ive been told if i get pregnant i would be jumped so the baby would die just dumb things! but nothing has stopped us 9yrs strong 3yrs married got together when we where 14 we are now 21

Hi, loved this tag. My husband is black a and white whereas I am black. The world is very ignorant and seeing you two is a breath of fresh air. My children have also had to learn that being themselves is most important. One of my girls is more lighter than the others and I've had several occasions that I've had to speak bluntly in regards to being her parent by teachers and being detained at the hospital after her birth because the nurses seemed to think there had been some mistake. LoL I'm older now and I am more calmer in understanding so I forgive their ignorance.
