    I "discovered" Rachel through Dweezil Zappa, and her guitar skills blew me away. Her story is amazing, born on Frank Zappa's birthday only days after his death and not far from where he lived. Since she is blind, she depends on others to help her for some tasks. Since we aren't as gifted as her, we depend on her to help us elevate our lives. Thank you for elevating us.

      She plays multiple instruments, check her out playing with Dweezil Zappa and the Zappa plays Zappa band, symphony orchestras, worldwide collaborations. Talent like this only happens once in a blue moon and to think she does all of this without knowing how to read a single note, it's all from what she hears.

    • @smacl61
      @smacl61 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same question as had as I only discovered her yesterday and totally blown away. I was up really late checking out any video she was in. Now ten years older she even much better than what you are seeing. Her guitar work is stunning. Her playing piano and flute simultaneously is impossible. She is setting new standards in what a talented musician is.

      @@beachcomber4141 It's amazing how corporate music hid her from view all these years. Well at least now its starting to happen for her.

    It can truly be said she is Keith Emerson's peer. What an amazingly gifted young woman, the world is fortunate to have her!

    • @Gregorypeckory
      @Gregorypeckory 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Humane Pain She is gifted, I agree, but calling her Emerson's peer is wildly premature at best. There are painters who can produce an impressive copy of the Mona Lisa, good enough to fool all but a few specialists. Impressive as that is, we don't call them Leonardo's "peer".

    • @Gregorypeckory
      @Gregorypeckory 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** Give it time is a decent summation of what I was saying. But not just because I haven't heard her compositions. To become the peer of a master who has been at the top of his field for decades, requires decades.
      I very much look forward to hearing her music; her talent is obvious. There is no shame in being at the start of a brilliant career; I was only pointing out the obvious; the brilliant young player at the very start of her career simply can't be Emerson's peer, any more than college students are the peers of their professors.

      +Greg Vinson I would tend to disagree with you, Greg. Certainly, Keith must have been a prodigy at Rachel's age, and following a decade of growth, his talent clearly prevailed, but does one compare the human sequencer which is Keith to other incredibly talented cover artists as Liberace? As impressive as Rachel's abilities are, she has already established her own library of original compositions, which dare I say, have sold as well as anything Keith has managed to sell over the past 30 years. ELP was one of those brilliant, timely, original, well-promoted, and truly enjoyable periods of my youth, having been a musical prodigy myself, but not unlike every prodigy ever rolled out for their talents, Rachel has a blank canvas in which to work with, challenges few could appreciate, where as Keith primarily survives on legend, and achievements of 40+ years ago. Not at all disparaging Keith's talent, but as much as aging troubles me, this world need not bring down its most promising youth when they're compared to the greats of the past, but there comes a time where the most intelligent of us need to support the youthful, and peacefully let go of the godly stereotypes of our pasts. Even Keith sits upon a toilet every day or so. :)

    If all those critics who have said Emerson, Lake & Palmer was all about stage antics ever watch this video, they will certainly eat their words. I'm sure blessed Miss Flowers here, who evidently has unique knowledge and appreciation of Keith Emerson's output, doesn't care much about those stage antics. I myself fell madly in love with ELP's early music years before I could even watch on video what they do on stage. So, I firmly believe most of Mr. Emerson's music stands up for itself. Period. Cheers and Congrats, Miss. Flowers. I think your'e a natural born musician and you've work hard to develop your talents.

    What an amazing homage to a great musician. This girl is so incredible. It's ever more a waste of a life that Keith would take his life when truly so many loved what he was to the keys. That aside, Rachel, I am truly speechless at your talent

    OMG!!! I know Rachel must have put hours and hours of work into this, but it is still like the heavenly angels have poured the music into her and she is the conduit for their songs. Such astonishing talent and musicality: not just a technician, but a musician.

    I am amazed at this. Not just a good cover....but a cover that has some style and feel. That was always the magic of Keith Emerson. He never sacrificed the emotion and rock energy in order to sound technically perfect. People can connect to music like that. I was blown away BEFORE I noticed this young lady had bad vision. Truly amazing.

    BRAVO !! Another wonderful example of how eyesight is the first filter in which music loses it's natural vibration. People that play by feel and hearing, blind or simply in the dark -eyes closed, these are the ones that find what music can really do and where it can really go. !! BRAVO !!

    My heart goes completely out to you, Rachel. Any fan of yours has to be very clear how Keith's death has probably affected you. His music is in my bones too. I'd like to say he's in a better place, but I'd much rather he be here with us among the living. Love to you always. Craig.
