  • It is said that defection is a risk of death. Girls who left North Korea as children and now are going through puberty in South Korea. They must have a lot on their minds at such a confusing age. Wish them the best of luck with their puberty and settling in South Korea.

The way the girl is trying her best to live her life but worrying about whether her mom is safe or not is really tormenting her deep inside. I cant imagine what theyve been through they need psychological help to forget all the trauma.

I've been in a somewhat abusive relationship, and psychologically it was hard.
Still, it was nothing compared to what these girls go through.
My relationship lasted only a few years and I had ptsd/cptsd/anxiety attacks from it.
In the north they are bra1nwa$hed all their life, alllllll of it....
      It's like "wow".
I'm amazed at these girl's bravery and perseverance.
Because ALL their life is psychological trauma; examples: always being cautious of what you say, wearing what they tell you to wear, saying what they want you to say, always looking behind your back, always worrying about your family, going hungry, etc.
It's amazing and admirable how they continue to move forward happily each and every day.
No you can't imagine what they've been through, it is unthinkable to first world societies which is why it is so amazing that they came so far.
      I'm happy for them.

Life is unpredictable and issues usually come up. Anyone from any age is not guaranteed tomorrow. Even young people should think 🤔 about heaven ✨️ or hell 🔥.
Therefore if you want to spend eternity on heaven after your life here on earth 🌎, you should believe in your heart ❤️ that Jesus Christ is your Savior. If you don't, you will miss going to heaven and end up in the lake of fire. It is terrible so I beg you to make the only correct decision for God to allow you to go to heaven. @@small_fries7573 This girl is struggling with the severity of her situation. And here you are showing off that your so privileged all you have to do is worry about your soul.
Is this really the first thing you'd say to someone this traumatized? "oh what you're dealing with now isn't as important, if you don't believe in what we do you'll be damned forever". I don't know who's parents thought that its okay to let their kids to treat others this way but they were wrong for doing so.
It really shows your callus in the matter of what these people go through so much so you have the gal to act like she's got no reason to be happy with out your god.
Go back to your privileged church and preach to those who have lives simple enough that "finding God" is all they need to be happy.
Do not insult these women all they needs is faith and Jesus. Does faith give the body nutrients or Jesus show up at my door with plates of food? Does faith stop the torture or Jesus go rescue her immediate and extended family that is most definitely being captured and tortured right now? Does faith remove the mass of worms from these defectors bellies that have been growing for years due to terrible circumstances or does Jesus perform the surgery it will take to help a person be able to absorb nutrients after being malnourished? I'll go ahead and tell you, no. It doesn't and he doesn't.
Good for you that you only have to worry about you next life. Some of us have to fight tooth and nail for a chance at our first one, don't discount that.

watching this documentary made me realize all the oppurtunities i take for granted as someone who lives in a developed and free country, im too lazy to study even 1-2 hours and i live my life mostly like it's autopilot, but these girls fled all kinds of horror just to enjoy the freedom that i have and they are clearly driven to achieve their goals, which i respect alot. i hope all these girls are doing well wherever they are now, and i hope they and all of the korean people will live to see the reunification of the country.

They are bunch of trolls. In Korea, far-left democratic party(민주당, Korean Democratic Party) supporters sometimes get carried away, calling N. Korea defectors as 'betrayer'. Because they are anti-Japan, anti-America, pro-china, and pro-north Korea. They think the north korean government is a reliable partner, so they hate N. korea defectors because they undermine the relationship between two Koreas. Most Korean hate them.

It’s so geographically isolated from the rest of the world, even traveling to your neighbouring country Australia requires a long 4 hour flight, making it very difficult to get out of the country for a vacation. The kids that escaped from the north went through terrible things and now in the south surely lots of things are not easy too. It’s so difficult to get to university, etc. When I’m looking to Germany and how easy it is here… we have lots of lazy students here, the difference to Korea ist huge. Sometimes it’s so sad. Here are so much possibilities, but lots of people don’t use all these chances. In other countries even for really good students it’s so difficult to get a good job. Here they take some that are so bad that they would never have the smallest chance in countries like Korea…I‘m sorry for those who live in such difficult conditions.

It must be especially hard coming from this awful place and then having to readjust to not just any country, but one with one of the hardest and strictest educational and occupational standards. I applaud them for their willpower despite everything they've been through, and I think it's more than understandable if they needed more time to deal with their past and fully enter SKs demanding society on a mental level when they feel ready to.

My korean father in law died this year aged 100. He was born in North Korea and escaped just before the war. He fought for the south and was wounded. Can't imagine what he went through but he worked hard as a carpenter and raised a great family who did well. My advice would be choose a trade and start your own business and work hard at it. Working for others is death.

    • @oh.s
      @oh.s 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Getting a trade in South Korea might not be all that lucrative. Especially since South Korea places heavy importance on academics and has made post-secondary education (college/university) the only acceptable path out of high school. Not to mention South Korea is extremely discriminatory toward North Koreans and businesses may not hire these girls solely because they're from the North.

I sincerely enjoy your documentaries and am grateful for the opportunity to watch them, I just wish there was no music, because everytime the piano plays I mute the sound. to my ears its elevator music and only diminishes the value of the story told. It seems like it's there to direct emotions at certain points, but in my opinion the story would have greater impact without it.

A very heart felt story, my honest feelings about North and South Koreans are one of the same. I don't understand the animosity between the two. Even though the people are the same but the countries are a world apart from one another. This young women struggles to be apart of the South Korean society. It saddens me greatly because she tries so hard to fit in to biasness of out spoken South Koreans about their neighbours in the north. When she spoke about suicide that in itself bought out a very heart felt compassion towards this young women, and her struggle to be apart of the South Korean culture. I hope she tries to be more understanding towards her self and her feelings and let it all go and try harder to strive. Don't give up. ❤❤❤

the kim jong un family dictatorship stans want both north and south koreans to suffer. theyll criticize and cheer for the demise of south korea and when war breaks out (hopefully not) theyll be cheering for the supreme leader. theyll pretend that they care for the civilians but really, its just their ego talking. they dream of becoming supreme leaders themselves so like kim jong un family dictatorship, they want to live in privilege here outside of nokor. all the privileges they experience right now would be stripped from them and more if they did choose to live in north korea. so naturally like the cowards that they are, they are idolizing kim jong un family dictatorship from afar. while also maligning other societies who are not perfect, but whose people are actually doing something to improve and empower each other. control freaks who are also cowards. they cant even face the truth and theyre always in these documentaries, invalidating the experience of these sincere individuals so kim jong un family dictatorship with communist aesthetics can gain sympathy. thats the kind of people that they are

This is an interesting video. It should be used for educational purposes. I'm so sorry North Korean has a bad reputation. People can't come and go as they please like they do in South Korea. They're next door to each other (so to speak) and they don't get along. It must be uncomfortable for some of the students for people to think of them as "spies". People are not responsible for where they were born. People don't choose Nationalities. God assigns that to whomever He chooses. This video was so happy, then sad, then exciting, then numbing. Hyang will get a chance to see her mom. The students have had a rough time coming to South Korea and still don't quite know how to fit in. I have confidence that they will make it there in South Korea because they had a loving and caring Teacher to look after them. Thanks for sharing. These are the type videos I really enjoy.
