  • With different decking materials to choose from, we decided to take an in depth look at how to update your old deck with composite decking using Veranda with ArmorGuard from Home Depot. This option offers the look and feel of wood without the yearly maintenance. For a detailed how-to on this project visit www.doityoursel...

The irritation would have been worth it if the video got into the details of hiding the front board's hardware, the facia, and whether the posts are actually just held in place with one inch screws to the deck boards.
      But these issues weren't covered.
      So ya, irritating.

Your right composite decking is easier to install but in my experience this decking only last on average around ten years with more danger when they start too go. Nothing like real wood I bet that old deck was 25 plus. Good luck.

    • @ondopolom785

@@staytight6340 You still need to push the board as you gradually screw the fasteners through the board into joists in order to keep it parallel to he previously installed board. Thanks for your honest opinion, I was looking for something waterproof because I prefer low maintenance but I’m now considering plain ol wood; just gotta stain every few years. The deck U have now hasnt seen stain in over 10 years and it’s producing wood/brown rot smell causing weezing.
